New to Leeds - 2 yr old and one on the way......

We have just relocated to Leeds (although we did live here 10 years ago) and I am feeling a bit nervous about being a SAHM again in a new city! I have a 2 yr old and the second is due in 4 weeks.

I am looking for any advice on groups and activities for my toddler daughter (we live just off Street Lane nr to Moortown and Roundhay)and/or anyone who would like to meet up for a coffee and run round the park - especially if your kids are of a similar age.

Saffron, the same in this house, didn't stop going on about them both.

Sorry to be rubbish again guys but we'll have to dash off at 11am to see the midwife. Why do people I need to see insist on Thursdays?

I'll understand if its not worth anyone else's while just for the hour but Small will need to be run like a dog so I'll be in the playground at 10am (torrential downpours permitting!)

Hi saffron. Sorry about this morning. Was up all night with the runs and sick, didn'y have your number to call you. Hope you didn't have too hard a time getting small off the swings. Would you be able to give me a ring tomorrow and we will swap mobiles.

I am so that I didn't make it on the 11th and didn't even apologise. Had a few bad weeks healthwise with SPD and a stinking cold.

Hopefully I'll be able to make it next week. I also see my MW on Thursdays and it doesn't half bugger up any other plans!

Lula - No worries - I take it you didn't get my voicemail on your home phone. We didn't make it either thanks to a burglary on Weds at 4:30am where they got away with wallets, phones and our car. Grr.... Spent all morning trying to sort out replacements in case No 2 pitches up soon.

Daisy - Sorry to hear about SPD - hope its not been TOO grim. We shall have to sort out another day for a big meet-up. Small is now settling in at the childminders and will be there on Thurs & Fri. However - quite happy to meet up on those days with only one child in tow once it gets here!

Oh my goodness ! Our neighbours got their car stolen a few weeks ago at round about the same time. Let me know if you need anything. I am away from tomorrow pm for weekend but dh will always do you a favour if you need it.

Little tulip has been having miserable mornings for the last three days now, I think it is the terrible 14mth time. Thinking back big tulip was exactly the same. never mind, I will be in Manchester all weekend.

Hi, I'm Maggie and live in LS17 (Moortown/Roundhay). Am currently on mat leave until Feb - have 3 girls (6, 3.5 and 10 weeks). It would be lovely to meet up and go for a walk some time as I would love to meet some new people in the area. Oh and St.Andrew's Church in Roundhay have a very toy filled toddler group on a Tuesday morning (10-11.30am). I've been once (£1.50) and it was really friendly. Nice cup of tea and snacks for the kids.

Hello all. Saffron, any news yet ?

Little tulip is in hospital with don't know what. Had a funny turn on mon morning and has been ke[pt in. Back to her normal self now so hopefully home tomorrow.

Hope we will hear some news soon saffron.

Stormy we will set up a day to meet and anybody else up for it.

DD2 arrived on Weds at 16.30 after a very speedy labour. No time for birthing pools - just straight to delivery suite, a few gulps of gas and air and out she popped.

3.97 kg (8lbs 12oz) and not interested in sleeping at night. DD1 cautiously OK with it all at the moment.

Lula - hope Little T is OK - how odd. Hope there is no reoccurance.

Hope to be out and about as soon as possible & will join you all when we can.

Oh congrats. I thought there was a bit of silence. Give me a ring, as I don't have your number, as I would like to visit when everything is quieter.

hi saffron i live in roundhay just off street lane. i have 2 dd's 1 is 19mnth the other 5 mnths. we go 2 a free playgroup in harehills at choto moni on bankside street. its free and is run on a friday and tuesday morning. also tumbletots on wednesday at st edmonds church hall (although they charge membership and term fees). also roundhay park and tropical world are fantastic. do you drive ? i have found a new love for polkadot kids world of play in garforth (just next to the tesco). it costs £4.25 for 2 hours of play (babies under 1 cost £1) its only £1 for a coffee n the kids love it.

Hello all, had missed the fact I was name-checked on this thread earlier! Congrats to Saffron as well. Saffron, funnily enough I was the same, lived in Leeds as a student and then returned c. 10 years later.

I'm generally pretty rubbish at weekday meet-ups as I work full-time but (a) can point people in the direction of Leeds MNers and (b) have an absolute shedload of leave to take before April so can definitely set a day aside for my MN colleagues!
