New to Leeds - 2 yr old and one on the way......

We have just relocated to Leeds (although we did live here 10 years ago) and I am feeling a bit nervous about being a SAHM again in a new city! I have a 2 yr old and the second is due in 4 weeks.

I am looking for any advice on groups and activities for my toddler daughter (we live just off Street Lane nr to Moortown and Roundhay)and/or anyone who would like to meet up for a coffee and run round the park - especially if your kids are of a similar age.

I'm glad he's going - he would drive nursery mad if he stayed another year - he is already pushing the boundaries...!

Next week is not good for me (obvious reasons really) - but after that I should be OK for Friday afternoons, or school holidays.

I'm glad that the cafe's reopened - it was really nice before the fire. The walk around the lake is good with pushchairs too.

Oh I can come too and i have a dog ! Maybe a walk round the park then dogs in car and then to cafe would be really good. I also know the Bee Sharp lady and she is lovely !

What about next Thursday? Leave dogs at home but def go for tea and cake in the lakeside!!!

LackaDAISYcal · 03/09/2008 15:58

next Thursday is fine with me; I have a hospital appointment on Friday but nothing else planned except toddlers on Wednesday am. I need to leave about 2:30 at the latest to get DS from school though.

lulalullabye · 03/09/2008 16:44

I can only do thurs am next week as am hosting my friends 1 yr olds's birthday party.

3osting

Ignore the bit at the end, knocked by demon child whilst typing.

mistlethrush · 03/09/2008 16:48

Can't do next week - perhaps another week on a Friday afternoon or holiday time?

lulalullabye · 03/09/2008 16:52

Fri good for me as dd1 in nursery, so thats better.

stormy1 · 03/09/2008 19:22

Is that settled then thursday at car park near top lake at 10AM???

BroccoliSpears · 03/09/2008 20:01

Will have to give Thursday a miss but would definitely be up for a Friday dog walk some time. Pick a Friday.

Is OP still around and planning to meet up with someone btw?!

LackaDAISYcal · 03/09/2008 20:19

is the top lake car park the one that is at the side of the visitor centre place? accessed from the road at the side of the pub on Street Lane?

and is thursday tomorrow or next thursday? I've just realised I have a MW and then physio appointment tomorrow so wouldn't be able to make that.

saffron71 · 03/09/2008 21:52

My pregnancy brain has interpreted this as Thursday 11th September at 10am!

And I am with Daisy - the car park near the top lake is the one near the Visitor's Centre - along the road from the Roundhay Fox?

Or have I got a firm grasp of the wrong end of the stick?

And then a Friday for next time.....?

Daisy - Is that Toddlers at the Parochial Hall on Weds am? If so, I was there this morning! Did I miss you under another guise?

saffron71 · 04/09/2008 07:48

Oh phew [blush}

I was afraid I'd been inadvertently rude!

Thurs 11th at 10am - its a date. Yes the top car park is near visitors centre!
Wear your pink carnations!!!

saffron71 · 04/09/2008 21:21

I'm only wearing a pink carnation if it mysteriously helps my bump look smaller. The only good thing about being this huge is that my bum looks normally proportioned for the first time in my adult life.

Now you know which freaky Mum to look out for..... but the small girl with red, curly hair may help to identify us.

See you then.

lulalullabye · 11/09/2008 19:38

Hi girls, thanks for the nice morning out. Saffron and I have sort of said that we would do the same thing next week but at 10am so stormy it would be nice to see you there again and come on all you Leeds girls, the motre the merrier. We also thought it might be easier to meet at the bottom car park next to the cafe, as that is where we ultimately will end up.

Hopefully see you next week.

saffron71 · 11/09/2008 20:50

Stormy - hope work was OK.

Lula - Small told her Dad all about your two. She is very taken with them both. I just whined about the haul up the hill!

See you next Thurs, 10am, bottom car park.
