Hello!

Its a picnic, on Mon 21st July - but to raise awareness of the government's intention to pass a very odd law regarding breastfeeding.

You dont need to be bf to come - just supportive of a babys right to have food when its hungry!

there are lots of picnics being organised all over the country by mumsnetters

have a look at this website - which makes things a lot clearer than i can!

protect my baby, protect me

So - its NOT a protest, just a picnic, but i will invite the local papers and issue a press release (the same as the other groups)

im scared. will it just be me and DS and a limp sandwich???

MrsMagooo, I can pick you up from the station again if you want. Then it's only a short walk through castle park.

Don't worry, I won't get lost this time

MrsMagooo · 19/07/2008 11:56

LOL!

Bless you hun - it's not so much the walk it's more the running around after DD that I can't keep up with & I have yet another appt that I have no idea what time will end - the past few appts I've been sat waiting to go in for about an hour rolls eyes

Xx

Is there anything you want me to bring this afternoon?

Looking forward to seeing you all

purpleflower · 21/07/2008 10:37

Forget to add that I hope your appt goes well today MrsMagooo and that they don't keep you waiting too long.

Fairy cakes all baked and ready to go! See you soon. Going to assume it's still under the big trees near the bandstand?

pooter · 21/07/2008 16:41

THANKYOU THANKYOU to all that came and to all well wishers!

Keep your eyes peeled for our photo in the Gazette (dont know which day)

it was great pooter!!!! THANK YOU TOO! We really enjoyed it and were glad to be there! If you see it in the paper let me know ASAP so I can rush out and buy a million copies!

SparklyPrincess · 21/07/2008 21:26

Glad it went well Pooter! Really sorry I didn't make it - I think getting out of the house today was perhaps a bit optimistic after the 7 hour drive yesterday!

pooter · 21/07/2008 22:50

Guess what - the only MP to walk the 50meters from teh House of Commons to the picnic in london was good old Bob Russell from Colchester!!!

I had invited him to ours but told him about the one in london too. Im so impressed with him! He told the london organiser to make sure to tell the colchester picnic that he turned up, otherwise he'd get into trouble!! Wow - i actually feel listened to by a politician.

ps. i had loads of cakes left over, and stuffed my face with them. i dont feel too well (why is there no puke smiley?)

Do those three dots mean something dodgy Dior?? Sounds like you and bob have a past...

See! three dots makes anything sound suspicious!

eg. we ate apples on the grass...

sound rude!

Deeper holes Dior, dig deeper holes

Pooter, we had a lovely time and I am so pleased Bob Russell went to the London one. As a Politics graduate, it is fab to hear a politician listening!

Sawyer64 · 22/07/2008 12:01

I think Bob Russell is good too,he took up a complaint of mine against the Tax Credit people(yes the usual you owe us... see three dots used in a different tone!)

Only my case was they'd left it 5 years before any contact at all!

Anyway,he wrote to me personally several times and to the Tax Credit people, seems to put himself out for people IME.
