Looking for free stuff to do with the children in MK over the holidays?

I 'liked' the Milton Keynes Play Association (MKPA) on Facebook at the beginning of the holidays and they have been putting a message on every morning listing all of the free events happening in Mk that day.

Today's update reads
"Today's FREE play sessions...
10am-12.30pm Bletchley (Leon Park)
10am-12.30pm New Bradwell (Newport Road Rec)

2pm-4.30pm Bradwell Common (Summerfield School)
2pm-4.30pm Kents Hill (Main Field/Next to Pavilion)
2pm-4.30pm Conniburrow (Next to Meeting Place)"

and

"Also today, the return of the ever-popular WOODLAND PLAY in Linford Wood:
Scramble nets, Zip Line, Nature Crafts, Bug Hunts and more!
Follow the signs from behind the BP petrol station on the V7 to the activity.
Come and join in the fun from 2pm-4pm."

I've already listed the Woodland play session on the 'What's On' but I hadn't seen the other ones.

They also have a website with all the details on here if you like a bit more forward planning.

HTH :)

Thanks Golden Snitch
Are you actually going to any of these??
The info has been invaluable, Thank You!

GoldenSnitch · 10/08/2011 18:45

I keep meaning to but never quite making it. DD still sleeps in the afternoons so it limits our options a bit. I've been to the woodland play ones in the past and they're good fun. They're a bit like the play bit of one of the Pushchairs in the Park events if you've ever been to one of those? The next 'Pushchairs' is on the 19th and is the big Summer fun day at Campbell Park which is always a lot of fun. We'll be there definitely. no stalking now Wink That's free too.

The fun fair is also on at Willen if you fancy that? The games and rides cost money but playing in the playground or walking round the lake is free and fun.

Toddler Time starts up again this week too on Mondays, Thursdays & Fridays. I think it's £3 per family these days.

The toddler group at Walnut Tree is running over the holidays too and they're having a Teddy Bears Picnic next Wednesday. The first visit is free and then it's £2 per family I think.

Glad it's been helping. I did wonder last week whether anyone was reading these anymore so it's really nice to know they're helping, Thank you :)

Hi, I just joined mumsnet - thanks for posting these up! Fingers crossed for some more updates, I have a 6yr old boy and a 10 month old girl, running low on ideas :S

GoldenSnitch · 12/08/2011 13:18

Welcome to Mumsnet AltMama :) I'll do my best to keep this up to date for you. I've been putting mainly free stuff on this thread but there's loads more to do for just a few pounds. Have a look at the "What's On" section of the local page, I put loads of things in the events there too.
