Looking for free stuff to do with the children in MK over the holidays?

I 'liked' the Milton Keynes Play Association (MKPA) on Facebook at the beginning of the holidays and they have been putting a message on every morning listing all of the free events happening in Mk that day.

Today's update reads
"Today's FREE play sessions...
10am-12.30pm Bletchley (Leon Park)
10am-12.30pm New Bradwell (Newport Road Rec)

2pm-4.30pm Bradwell Common (Summerfield School)
2pm-4.30pm Kents Hill (Main Field/Next to Pavilion)
2pm-4.30pm Conniburrow (Next to Meeting Place)"

and

"Also today, the return of the ever-popular WOODLAND PLAY in Linford Wood:
Scramble nets, Zip Line, Nature Crafts, Bug Hunts and more!
Follow the signs from behind the BP petrol station on the V7 to the activity.
Come and join in the fun from 2pm-4pm."

I've already listed the Woodland play session on the 'What's On' but I hadn't seen the other ones.

They also have a website with all the details on here if you like a bit more forward planning.

HTH :)

Don't forget MK Play Day this Friday! FREE activities from 10am-2pm at Campbell Park. Loads to see and do - come and join in the fun. No need to book in advance - just turn up on the day!

Is everyone still meeting up?

Ooh, just remembered too - I took the children to Frosts in Woburn yesterday and they have a "beach" there.

It's just a 12' x 12' sandpit but there are buckets and spades and seives and cars etc and it's under cover with benches for the parents. There's also chickens to see in the allotment bit and fish in the main building, as well as all the flowers and plants obviously - and it's free to visit.

Worth a go if you really need to get out of the house.

The Tree Top Walk at Salcey Forest is good too. It takes about an hour and does go quite high but the bridges all slope quite gently and have nice high sides so even my 20 month old managed it easily and safely. There are a couple of adventure playground areas by the entrance and a little cafe selling drinks, snacks and light meals plus plenty of places to have a picnic if you'd rather.

The walk is free but you'll need to pay between £1 and £3 for parking.

The Parks Trust are doing a Film Festival in Campbell Park this weekend.

Saturday 20th has Avatar at 1pm, ET at 4pm and Back to the Future at 7pm

Sunday 21st has Toy Story at 1pm, Twilight at 4pm and South Pacific at 7pm.

It says to bring a picnic and seating.

There is also a "Drive in" showing of Ghostbusters on Friday 19th at 7pm but that is £10 per car.

There will be more details on www.theparkstrust.com or ring 01908 255379
