UptoapointLordCopper · 25/09/2011 18:16

Hello!

Very nice outing last night. Smile

Island - they do know of each other! What a coincidence, eh?

Kora · 25/09/2011 19:01

Had a lovely evening on Sat night! Really enjoyed seeing everyone Smile (Tilly, catch you at Kooks gig hopefully?)

Sfx - thanks for pics. I shall have to practise my lines with DH for checking out those programmes, "no, I'm not ogling, he's just very talented..." Grin.

vbus · 25/09/2011 19:06

LoL don't forget to check out Centurion, he's meant to be good in that too.

Hada day trip to Abingdon which was nice, combined appliance shopping with a bit of tourism Grin

Island - I'll email you the details

OP posts:
sfxmum · 25/09/2011 19:27

hello

no lie in but dd only got up at 8.30 and came to our bed for a while

took her swimming and to Kew because dh looked in need of alone time
but I wasn't thinking very clearly and changing bags at the last minute was fatal as I wore my swimsuit and forgot the underwear at home.
tried to dry swimsuit as best as I could but it was still damp so headed to M&S swearing at my own stupidity much to dd's amusementHmm got yoga pants loose top knickers and bra, then food for picnic

need sleepGrin after Spooks leave the Toffs thing for the player when I can skip the adverts

sfxmum · 25/09/2011 19:32

Is Abingdon particularly good for appliances?

btw do you know the Bone Maman does the best creme caramel and chocolate mouses? small portions but really lovely and on promotion at Waitrose

vbus · 25/09/2011 19:53

There was a warehouse nearby so we thought we'd make a day of it. The selection process is really hard but also the fun part of this project

LOL at swim mishap, we've all been there Wink

Might have to check out the mousses, sound good

OP posts:
UptoapointLordCopper · 25/09/2011 20:05

creme caramel and chocolate mouses Grin Sounds good. Will check it out next time I go to Waitrose. Had to forego trip there because DH volunteered to do lunch.

Waiting for speg to cook. 2 head of slow cooked garlic + goats cheese. We will be the most garlicky people of West London.

FlubbaBubba · 25/09/2011 20:43

Thanks again for making me feel so welcome last night Ladies

sfxmum · 25/09/2011 20:46

no doubt we will speak soon, we must try and manage a get together with the kiddies at half term and at least another night out before Christmas

now I must follow better people on twitter as it appears they all watch X-Factor and tweet about itHmm

sfxmum · 25/09/2011 20:50

I am trying to be organised as this week things start getting really busy, have even planned a menu, noted running training plan and assorted chores

copper roasted garlic and goats cheese yum
reminds me I have to used up some stilton I have in the fridge probably crumble on top of tomorrows casserole

stepfordwife · 26/09/2011 09:59

hello everyone Smile
hope all well
Sad i missed night out on sat..but I was at a party..a "grown-ups" one, you know, without jelly and ice-cream or tantrums (well maybe a few of the latter Wink
next time...

welcome to island and flubber (and any other newbies i've missed - sorry) Smile
i've got ds1, 12 on sunday (oh dear, better sort his birthday out) ds2, 10, and dd, 6, live in mortlake and shirk work from home

sorry haven't posted for so long but these days seem to feel like a hamster on a wheel failing trying to keep up with my life.
had a fab time in Australia visiting rellies during summer hols and stopped in KL on way back to stay with friends. OMG - the food! Heaven.

ds1 slowly getting used to secondary school, hopefully i'll follow suit soon. feel a total hyopcrite nagging him into a stupor about organisation and time management skills blah, blah, blah because guess what my huge failings are?! yep!
actually have had to (half) learn those skills, but they don't come naturally.

anyhow have got the lurgy and lost my voice so dh and kids rejoicing Grin. now to to figure out how I'm going to do the interviews I've got lined up.Ho-hum..

UptoapointLordCopper · 26/09/2011 11:47

Hello!

Apparently if you are in a cast you have to be taken home for lunch. Health and safety. Doesn't matter if you can still use your hand, and how can you put your job above the health and safety of your children. Hmm Luckily lovely friend will take DS1 out for lunch today.

It's only Monday and I'm exhausted already.

Hello Steppie! Long time no see!

tillyfernackerpants · 26/09/2011 12:18

Copper, Confused really? When ds1 had his cast they didn't make him go home for lunch!

islandhaze · 26/09/2011 12:35

Hello !
Everybody seems busy from Monday, and iam so relaxed...i dont know if its a good sign though... :o

Copper, do they??? i was repeating your dhs name on the way home, but when i came back, dh asked me how the dinner was etc, and then i could only remember the name :D Then i was trying to say last name, and dh laughed, but he said one last name, that sounded right, but then i wasnt sure... i guess i was just too exited that i went out :D But yeah, what a small world :)

Vbus, i would love to go! Let me just check with dh. But i think its going to be fine :)

Sfx, i also had situation like that once...but it was in summer, and i had my sisters kids swim suits too. oh dear..

vbus · 26/09/2011 13:22

Hello Steppie - good luck with hamster wheel, I'm sure you're doing a grand job Smile Can't believe your eldest will be 12 Shock Happy birthday for Sunday

Island - glad you can make it Smile

Flubba - hello again, glad you enjoyed Sat night!

Sfx- sounds v. orgainsed, good for you. I ordered the desserts now, easily persuaded Grin

Copper - I'm exhausted too, Dh awake at 5.30am and had lots of meetings with builders and team. Going to try and have a nap despite the noise Hmm

OP posts:
sfxmum · 26/09/2011 13:22

hello

steppie hi mrs the mother of secondary age child my wordGrin glad visit to rellies went well, sounds like fun

copper just goes to show this business of H&S very much depends on interpretation and people sometimes get over zealous, speaking as someone who had to either write or supervising writing of loads of risk assessments, all the officiousness comes out like hives in some people

busy and doubting my ability to run the 10K on the 22nd, I must not skimp on the plan or get lazy and my that I mean do some intervals
maybe I should just give up races and plod along

sfxmum · 26/09/2011 13:24

vbus their yoghurt are very nice too but the creme caramel has teh required bitterness, I can barely get into waitrose these days, since they are doing their French original brands thing it is just like childhood

vbus · 26/09/2011 13:26

I ordered the yogurt too!

Good luck for training plan, you can do it!

OP posts:
stepfordwife · 26/09/2011 13:31

copper - that is ridiculous! bet ds enjoys being taken out for lunch, though Grin

thanks vbus...so what's your builders' tea strategy. are you making it for them or just letting them get on with it themselves?
i usually hoped they'd make one for me, too Grin. always bought them doughnuts/cakes/choccy biccies on fridays, tho..

i know sfx! i can't possibly be old enough to have a son at secondary school Wink
totally different world, i tell you. have only got his wordfor it that he actually pitches up there at all Grin

FlubbaBubba · 26/09/2011 13:44

Hi all (and hello to stepfordwife - sorry not to have met you on Sat). What school is your DS at?

The half-day school & nursery run and The Boy learning to climb the stairs fall flat on his face five times a day is going to slowly kill me off. Still, it's been a good life :)

Busy trying to organise a macmillan fundraising coffee morning for the tailend of this week, but our oven's broken, so there'll be some rather raw cake mixture for people to eat. Other than chocolate krispies, sarnies and popcorn, what else can I organise (that's cheap and doesn't require baking)?

sfxmum · 26/09/2011 13:53

Flubba I have a recipe of a scandi choc raw choc cake to be eaten topped with berries but short of time now will post later, must shower and do my bit of help at school
