I'd like to watch that too, a future outing perhaps?! Breaking Dawn trailer was shown Grin

Sfx - good luck with the ballet, hope Dd enjoys it

I finished reading the Dargon Tatto book, it was really good and I loved the Swedish refs, I was familiar with lots of the places whcih I'd forgotton about and could picture where there offices were!

vbus - meal "diary" only homework for the day. Teacher will be horrified at what we eat today. Grin

Want DS1 to join ensemble but he'd probably rather do football...

Just finished very dull piece of work. Had to keep munching on peanuts to stop nodding off.

We are all reading the Greek myths now. Grin

sfxmum · 15/09/2011 14:40

vbus trailler hilarious, can't wait to see 'the honeymoon' and bet the dress is naff Grin yes I am mean

let's go to the pictures then

vbus · 15/09/2011 14:48

Sfx - bound to be hilarious Grin I tried not to watch trailer as I want to wait to see film, everyone in cinema did start laughing when trailer came on though Grin

Well, based on what they've done to his hair, BD is def going to be worth watching Grin

I would actually like ds1 to do computer club but ds1's school seems to only have a handful of clubs, mainly sporting which seems a shame. Guess they're catering to the majority!

sfxmum · 15/09/2011 18:22

OMG I hope dd hates ballet I hated it and all that goes with it, maybe there are limits to parental non judgemental encouragement

they hair! mind you all the weeks and production values on those films are awful, Harry Potter on the other hand the production is first class, a proper labour of love

sfxmum · 15/09/2011 18:22

not weeks wigs

vbus · 15/09/2011 19:31

I can put up with the hair as long as RP is looking lovely Wink

Sfx - didn't know you despised ballet so much....

Tilly - there are 6 school clubs for yr1&2 but only 2 are sporty, hadn't really thought about it til you mentioned it. DS1 wanted to do all of them, good grief

OP posts:
sfxmum · 15/09/2011 19:34

I don't mind ballet in fact I am quite fond of watching all kinds of dance, ballet included but you just have to go to one of these suburban classic ballet classes to awaken a loathing of such displays Grin sorry I am sure everyone is very nice but it is all so precious and princessy

vbus · 15/09/2011 19:35

Forgot to say I'd been on beginners pilates class forever, and they called up today saying I can start next week, yay!

Sfx - that reminds me, I think I still have your pilates dvd, sorry I never got round to had time to watch it Blush I might have to watch it before class starts so I have an idea of what I'm letting myself in for

OP posts:
vbus · 15/09/2011 19:36

meant to say 'class waiting list'

OP posts:
UptoapointLordCopper · 15/09/2011 20:26

sfx - have witnessed a few ballet lessons and have heard friend ranting so concur with you on ballet lessons. I would love DS2 to do ballet but not sure he or I would cope with the pinkness and the curtseys.

sfxmum · 15/09/2011 20:35

vbus no worries return when we meet next

copper I thought the teacher was awful and inexperienced with children, dd was having fun until a particular interaction with her, which would have been fine but for her it left her lost and taken aback
there are plenty of school who have boys who have boys in fact the other one on the short list seemed more varied

Had a look at my timetable and think will make Monday my set cross training day, the college is across from pools in the park so I can do swimming, fitness suit or spin before heading up to dd's classroom and help at the end of the day

sfxmum · 15/09/2011 20:36

vbus I do love pilates would be great to find a suitable class

sfxmum · 15/09/2011 20:37

meant it would have been fine for her if she were older

tillyfernackerpants · 15/09/2011 21:17

Copper, a boy in ds1's class does ballet somewhere around Northfields, he's been doing it for a couple of years now

I loved ballet and did it for years (not that you'd think it to look at me Grin), but solely does depend on the teacher. I had two, one was fantastic, really enthusiastic, all about the fun of it whereas the other was a failed Sadlers Wells applicant and so obviously bitter about it all. That was one of the reasons I stopped going in the end, just ruined the fun of it for me.

vbus, yep I think ds1 would've tried most of them if I'd let him!

Kew, just realised I never replied to your Beavers q! Ds1 loved it, it was all quite relaxed, just lots of games & playing etc. He loves that there's some older children there, and I like that he's making friends outside of school as well. I don't know if each group charges the same but at this one its £1 per week until they pledge & then its £2 plus £30 per year for the insurance.

UptoapointLordCopper · 16/09/2011 09:42

Hello!

Had big row in the morning with DS1 about how to write lists with headings (homework). Hmm Why couldn't he just recognise the fact that I do know how to do these things and he really should consider my advice? GrinGrin Suspect more of this to come.

Going to choose and buy DS2 a bell for his bike this afternoon now that he can ride. Do you think unicef would approve of this materialistic approach?

sfxmum · 16/09/2011 13:24

copper that is very common at our house even down to Portuguese pronunciation Hmm

very tired today looking forward to night out, in need of chat and good company

UptoapointLordCopper · 16/09/2011 14:05

sfx - LOL. Obviously you can't possibly know anything about Portuguese pronunciation.

It's the literal arguments that really wind me up - "You said I always do this but I don't always do this - I only do it about 99.9999 percent of the time and that is not always". Hmm

Been out for curry with DH. Our old haunt. Smile

vbus · 16/09/2011 14:34

LOL you do have to laugh about these things!

tilly - There are few boys who do ballet in DS1 class. Beavers sounds good, glad DS1 enjoys it

Also v.tired not sure why I agreed to go out tonight, definitely won't be a late one. Have exhausting wkend ahead with infintely more packing and shifting of stuff then builders start on Mon, better find my earplugs

OP posts:
sfxmum · 16/09/2011 16:53

oh poop blardy poop they cancelled my course for lack of students, offered me a place on alternative one but runs from 7-9pm which means juggling childcare, but only 5 wks maybe dh can commit poop blardy poop

sfxmum · 16/09/2011 16:54
Sad
UptoapointLordCopper · 16/09/2011 20:40

sfx - Sad Is it everyday for 5 weeks?

sfxmum · 16/09/2011 20:53

no just once a week so dh says he will make sure he is home, only not really sure he can actually manage it, I rather do the non specific one in the evening than none at all

vbus · 17/09/2011 12:58

Sfx - what a bummer about course Sad. Hope Dh sticks to his end of the bargain and you manage to do the evening one

I'm feeling so exhausted, late night and now ploughing through all the packing. Not much else on for us this wkend. Boys enjoyed football this morning, at least they've had an outing!
