SB - Craigslist it locally saves all the hassle. Was 80 here today and going to be 40 and snowy tomorrow - ah the joys of living in Colorado. Been to the Zoo again and am most definitely sunkissed (didn't forget the sunscreen). Boys off to Theater Camp tomorrow lucky them, sounds far more fun than work. Friend offered to sell me her three bed townhome in a gorgeous location for 310K. Sigh. If only.

kickassangel · 23/03/2009 03:17

sb, in the uk you can list as for collection only on ebay, otherwise i'd imagine you would have to charge a fortune for delivery. i thought vera wang was known for wedding dresses? d'ya have a link to a pic so we can see how hideous tastefully designer it is?

so, we both skyped home to say 'happy mother's day', except MIL only wants to talk to me, not dh much!

i have reported the lates busty russian trying to contact me for friendship on skype. they annoy me.

SuperBunny · 23/03/2009 03:21

It looks like this or the small one here

It is lovely if you are a crystal bowl type of person but I am not one of those people.

sb, that web site listed them as all 'sold out' so a good time to sell yours? put something like 'ideal wedding gift'

look through other ebay listings first, to get an idea of what they're going for & how they're described.

haven't done much on ebay, so not an expert, but i should think you'd get between $20 & $50 for that, if it's difficult to get hold of, you can put it on with a 'minimum' so if it doesn't sell, you can relist it a week later & see if it goes.

kickassangel · 23/03/2009 16:02

sb - have just been having tedious conversation with life ins guy, but from that have learnt something about wills etc.

if you have a will, it means you estate will go to probate. probate costs about 50% of your estate.
if you have an estate plan, you don't have to go to probate, and they sort out all your estate for you. he wasn't sure how any uk estate would be affected.
setting up an estate plan typically cost about $3000!! but then there is no tax to be paid on your estate after death. so you pay now to save your dc's a load of hassle & money in the event of your death.

hmm, i know how important it is to care for your dc's in worst case scenario, but why does it have to cost so much!!!

SuperBunny · 23/03/2009 17:34

I am ignoring the will stuff atm. I think I will have to get a solicitor to help with some of my current stuff which will mean I have 3 employed at do different things. Three sets of legal fees and no job

I have done Craigslist - I forgot about that, thanks. Will try ebay if it doesn't sell.

kickass, you only have to worry about federal estate taxes if you have $2 million or more. Some states have an inheritance tax but I would look into it carefully before shelling out $3K for a living trust.

SuperBunny · 24/03/2009 17:47

Well, that's not a problem I need to worry about then

Where's Dooney gone?

OP posts:
dooneygirl · 24/03/2009 21:29

Dooney had a migraine, and didn't do well looking at a computer screen, and now is dealing with 50 pounds of apples. Dooney won't be around much the next few days. Dooney is having fun with the 3rd person again today, I guess.

kickassangel · 24/03/2009 21:33

Dooney, walk away from Facebook now, before you become an avateur.

Kickass just spent an hour at the doctor's, with them listening properly about dd & making a suitable referral. Yay! Then she held her daughter down whilst she had a 'prickle' (injection) before heading to an ice cream parlour

dooneygirl · 24/03/2009 21:51

Dooney does NOT have a problem!!

SuperBunny · 24/03/2009 23:05

Well done Kickass! Good news.

Have fun with your apples, Dooney.

OP posts:
dooneygirl · 25/03/2009 01:31

I won't say that apples are fun.

So I saw on one of your food lists, SB, you listed roasted eggplant, zucchini, and chickpea wraps. I Googled and found a Martha Stewart recipe for that. Knowing that you have used a MS recipe in the past, I took it to mean that one. We had it for dinner, and found it to be really good. Except for Caitlin, she's still picking at it.

SuperBunny · 25/03/2009 17:32

Ooo, I should make that, shouldn't I? Dinner eats 'pestone & cheese waps' with alarming frequency and it'd be good to get him to try diferent kind of waps. Me too, I hate shop bought pesto.

Curious...

OP posts:

Caitlin's convinced that since she's almost 4, that means that she's practically 5, and a very big girl. She's also convinced her name is Chef Quackie and she's a duck.

SuperBunny · 26/03/2009 02:56

Her reasoning with her age is pretty good. I used to do that!

I seem to be living with a puppy/ kitten/ frog who will only respond if I say, 'Time for supper baby puppy/ kitten/ froggy' It gets a bit tedious but it does mean that, as long as I address him correctly, Dinner will do anything I ask, followed by, 'Of course Mummy puppy/ kitty/ froggy'

At least Chef Quackie is imaginative...
