We are flying out there in a few days for a holiday over Chritmas and I am stuck on what sort of clothes to pack for my 3 DC's... We have rented a house on the beach... TIA

10-day forecast plus averages for the rest of the month.

Their long-range forecasts tend to be more reliable than ours, because they are continental, not a tiny island surrounded by ocean

same thing in celsius (I can't think in Fahrenheit any more )

You could have some really nice weather

Thanks for those links - thats great.

I'm assuming that i should be packing shorts and t shirts for the Dc's... ???
Its hard to imagine that we'll be wearing summer stuff in a few days - its freezing where i am and we're all wrapped up in layers and layers of clothes!

Pretty much, but if you look at the records it can get down to about 0 so be prepared for that too!

Oh blimey - it'll be a case of packing for every eventuality then - like going away in the UK!

We were near LA 4 yeras ago for NY, staying with ILs.
WE packed summer type stuff, no coats, just a few fleeces.
WEll, it was the wettest New Year for 80 years and Disney even shut!!!

The sun came out the day we flew home

If you pack for a UK autumn that should be about right

You'll be leaving the UK in winter clothes, won't you, so you'll have those anyway. I think I'd take a combination of shorts, T-shirts, long trousers & sweatshirts, plus sandals (or crocs, nice & light) and wellies.

Have a fab time

Have you never heard of the internet? They have weather sites.

Ponders · 06/12/2008 17:10

Obviously none of us on MN has ever heard of the internet so thanks for that, BM, we'll all know in future

UK Autumn is about right. Pack layers as it can start cold and warm up very quickly during the day. Once it rains it tends to be torrential and last for a couple of days non-stop so maybe have a look for things to do inside as well.

Have a great trip.
