CV is 820k according to council website, I don't think as high as 1.2 that would be 380k above CV. Possibly around 1.1 for a pre-auction offer? We have friends just a few doors along who have same outlook it is so peaceful, no traffic noise, bird song all around, CP right on your doorstep plus still can walk to the beach and village.

WhatSheSaid · 09/02/2013 08:52

There's another three weeks and six days of it to come yet justabout!

They are very strange about ANY sort of mess. I was in the garden today hanging out washing while they were indoors with the dcs. I heard a bloodcurdling scream from mil "Oh my God! Nooooooo!" I raced indoors thinking one of the dcs had chopped off a hand, if not an entire arm.

Dd2 had got some felt tip on her hands Hmm

FanjolinaJolie · 09/02/2013 08:53

Sierra Street was the black cedar weatherboard one which sold at auction on 12th December. Very cool decor, polished concrete floor etc. CV was 780 i think it went for around 975! 200k over!! Madness.

lollystix · 09/02/2013 08:56

PMSL whatshesaid. dS3 took biro to himself yesterday - full body art - tiger apparently. Had to take him swimming today and lots of stares and smirks at him. I think when you (we're) in it we don't see that kind of stuff as unreasonable but I wonder if I'll be all stressy about that stuff when I'm older.

lollystix · 09/02/2013 08:57

That one Fanjo - didnt view as again assumed over our budget when I saw it. I see the work auction and recoil.

WhatSheSaid · 09/02/2013 08:59

They once hosed each other off in the garden of a bach we were staying in because they couldn't possibly wash in the shower in case they got a grain of sand in the house.

FanjolinaJolie · 09/02/2013 09:05

I know. I would prob be too scared to go to auction as well and would rather get in first with an offer and try to negotiate a price that way.

We bought by private sale which was stressful/awkward/emotional as no agent to work through and dealing with seller face to face.

Also worth asking the letting agents in St Heliers if any of their landlords want to sell. I know of a house on cnr or Waimarie and Rarangi which the eldery lady left to go into care. It is up for rent but no takers yet but surely the family would be better off to just sell it.

lollystix · 09/02/2013 09:05

Has any of this rubbed off on your DH in his childhood - or maybe it's an age thing. My MIL is exceptionally clean but she doesn't freak about kid mess - she gets that.

WhatSheSaid · 09/02/2013 09:09

Well,it's rubbed off on my dh in that it irritates him too. When I was pg with dd1 he was trying to convince me not to tell them we were having kids, in the hope that they would never visit Grin. Ok, he wasn't 100% serious but still...

FanjolinaJolie · 09/02/2013 09:56

I have been FJ for a few years but there are lots of Fanjo nicknames about.

I alternate HooverTheHamaBeads and YesPleaseDrChristian

Sibble · 09/02/2013 18:24

Welcome, well what alot of activity since I last looked. Thanks lolly for the PM I will reply later today....

Am having weird conversations with my sis at the moment who reckons dhs predicament is a sign and we should move home as I could get a job at the drop of a hat. Having had a round and round conversation that what I do is quite specialised and I don't think so as I have been looking, pointed out the obvious that I have a job, my lack of employment is not an issue!!! ho hum....I am sane, I am sane and I havn't even been able to join in the wine fest as I have a horrible feeling that if I start I won't stop!

AngryBeaver · 09/02/2013 20:23

Ok, I was lurking...and coiffing wine,too.
I don't trust myself to post when I've had a drink.
Once when I got up I checked MN and thought, SHIT I don't remmber posting that!! Blush

Hello fanjolina

justa glad to hear your Mums visit is going well, long may it continue!

wss, deary me, I would be clenching very hard in your situation.
Dh has to buy you something very lovely when they leave. I suggest, a medal!

sibble, you sound llke you are doing really well in a very difficult situation.
Will you hear about dh's auk iv next week?
Have you definitely decided it's a no to the Uk? Sounds like your dsis is hoping she can convince you?!

lollystix · 09/02/2013 22:29

AB - how many weeks till u move to Auckland? Will your mum still be in the country and helping you? How goes Waihekegate?

WhatSheSaid · 09/02/2013 23:42

Will you rent to start with.on Waiheke AB?

AngryBeaver · 10/02/2013 08:18

Got the official offer today in email. But dh wants to have the contract signed before he gives notice.
So, that will be mid week. Then he will work 4 weeks notice and we will give notice on house.
He is really looking forward to the new challenge, sounds a great opportunty for him. He will have his own office (with harbour views) and be the boss again.
Will be good for him.

Want to see some houses we're looking at?

Yeah, it's all we can really stretch to at the moment.
But, it's a foot on the ladder,eh?

WhatSheSaid · 10/02/2013 08:54

Last one has nice big garden but smallest house size. First one nice big house size but says its under offer at the moment. Are you going to go up to view them in person at some point?

lollystix · 10/02/2013 08:56

Exactly - like No.1 best. The blue one has lots of potential. Not loving no. 3

WhatSheSaid · 10/02/2013 08:57

Yeah, 82 sq m is not huge. But the garden is a great size.

Same lolly, no 1 best...could have a nice outdoor living room there. But, yep, looks like it will go.

And number 3 has good potential, would obviously paint it IMMEDIATELY! Kitchen good size but hideous.

wss we will probably rent first and are going up to see some rentals. Slim pickin's there alright.
