SYDNEY MN MEET UP - time for another one?

Thumbwitch · 10/05/2012 04:05

Seeing as how it usually takes a couple of months for us to find a date that's mutually convenient, I thought I'd start the thread now - who's up for another meet up?
I am of course Wink - who else is available? And when? And where? Do we want a plus-kids or a minus-kids one?

Thoughts please :)

I'm always available Grin

I prefer minus kids (squishy little babies excepted) and with Wine

Saturday's are no good, as DS has his swimming lesson in the morning, and I play netball in the afternoon.

How about a Sunday in June?

Sharksandfishes · 10/05/2012 05:28

I can probably do a Sunday in June. Saturday's aren't good and I'm still working full time (until mid July when DC2 arrives!)
I might actually make one of these things.....!

Thumbwitch · 10/05/2012 05:52

a Sunday in June sounds promising then - good start!

Can we prebook one for August now so I can bagsey a place now ?

Eralc · 10/05/2012 19:40

Waaaaaaaaa!

Thumbwitch · 10/05/2012 22:52

Awwww, Eralc - sorry lovey! Are you missing Australia, or happy to be back in the UK?

Mosman - we can try it! Although might be September rather than August, it's very windy in August usually.

bunnygirl80 · 11/05/2012 03:10

Eralc, how's the UK? I hear it's been freezing recently Grin

abithormonal · 11/05/2012 03:34

Good thinking Thumb, I'm easy, any sunday. Eralc hope everythings gone well with the move, 'spose you don't want to hear about the 29 degree autumn we've been having?

redvelvetpoppy · 11/05/2012 03:40

Hey Eralc, I am in your neck of the woods next week! How are you all?

A Sunday in June suits me too, apart from the 3rd. I would also prefer Wine & to leave my boisterous bundle of fun with his Dad for the day. Grin

Thumbwitch · 11/05/2012 04:01

RVP - you know Eralc's in the UK now, right? are you there too?

And Eralc, don't listen to Abit - it's only been lovely and warm the last couple of days - we had the fire going last weekend! Grin

If it's a Sunday in June the 17th is the only one I can commit to, there are a couple of other Sundays I might be able to do though depending on how things pan out. Absolutely definitely child free Grin

redvelvetpoppy · 11/05/2012 07:05

Thumb yes indeedy, jetting to the UK tomorrow Grin Grin Grin

abithormonal · 11/05/2012 07:11

I live in the moment thumb, have enjoyed rocking ds2 to sleep on the balcony reading the paper and drinking coffee whilst ds1 is playing outside and not destroying the house

Thumbwitch · 11/05/2012 08:31

Woohoo RVP - how long are you going for?

Abit, sounds idyllic (apart from the potential house destruction of course! Wink)

OK - we have a definite date to work to - June 17th ok for everyone?

OP posts:
Sharksandfishes · 11/05/2012 10:16

I can do that! Look out for the lady with the huge bump!
Where are we meeting?

Thumbwitch · 11/05/2012 11:17

Probably a bit chilly for our normal venue - anyone got any bright ideas about an indoor alternative?

I mean, if it happens to still be 29deg then, of course we can still do outside but it's a bit less likely by mid June...

Finally got around to checking this thread, June 17th is the only Sunday in June I can't do! It's DH's birthday. Have a lovely meet up!

abithormonal · 05/06/2012 06:09

Sorry to hear you can't make this one Seymore, we are looking forward to meeting you.

Eralc the weather has turned, supposed to be a heavy storm later today.

I'm temped to say usual venue and do indoors if the weather sucks

bunnygirl80 · 05/06/2012 09:06

I agree abit.

Seymore, it seems like we're destined never to meet you! We'll definitely have to make sure you can make the next one

Thumbwitch · 06/06/2012 07:22

oh rats, here's me been saying the 18th and it's the 17th! Blush D'oh!

Still good for it this end - so we're chancing the Opera Bar again, are we? Sounds all right to me - but if it is naffola weather, any other ideas?

OP posts:
redvelvetpoppy · 06/06/2012 07:53

Am still good to meet up too.

Sorry to hear you can't make it Seymore.

The only other idea I have to offer re: venue is the Belgian Beer Cafe in Wynard. Been once last year when it was too wet/miserable for the Opera Bar. Lovely hearty food/wine/beer. However, I have no idea how I got there from the station, certainly not a long walk but I had no clue where I was being taken. On same train line as circular quay......would this area suit people as I realise we are travelling from all directions? Am happy to chance Opera bar though Smile

CornishMade · 06/06/2012 23:13

Hello. May I come in? Thumb might introduce me. :)
I wonder if I could make this one?

Thumbwitch · 07/06/2012 00:39

Oh do come, Cornish! If you want, come to my house first and we'll go in together. I usually drive down to Roseville and then get the train from there because it's quicker and easier to manage than having to worry about catching the train from Central out.

OP posts:
CornishMade · 07/06/2012 14:29

That might be good Thumb, ta! Will check date is ok with dh.
What time do you all meet, and how long for?

Thumbwitch · 07/06/2012 15:44

We usually meet around 12:30 and stay for 3-4h, depending. But it's flexible, depends on what people can manage :)
