Germany mums, can you help me please?

We are driving from Rotterdam to Innsbruck in July and need to book somewhere to stay to break the journey, (was thinking between stuttgart and ulm).

Do any of you lovely people have any suggestions (there are 5 of us)?

I don't know the area between Stuttgart and Ulm, but Rothenburg ob der Tauber is a very picturesque town to visit off the A7 (which runs down to Ulm). It has a covered walkway on the city walls, which surround nearly the whole town. Strict building regulations within the walls make the whole place look like somewhere out of a fairy tale. Leonberg just by Stuttgart is a nice little town.

If you go along towards Heilbronn and down the A7 then both Schwäbisch Hall and Crailsheim are pretty.

Dinkelsbühl is gorgeous - similar to Rothenburg ob der Tauber (but with less tourists).

We always go for pizza in the Amalfi restaurant at the top of Segringer Strasse, delicious pizza and pasta, friendly staff and pleasant ambiance.

There is a gorgeous hotel, we have never stayed there but it looks interesting - outside traditional, inside modern. Right across the road from that hotel is a cafe/bistro that is great too. http://www.essbar-dinkelsbuehl.com/bistro.htm Essbar
