Thinking of you. Sending lots of love 💗

ceecee32 · 16/07/2023 17:51

Fortisip are the most disgusting thing ever - when I was in hospital and couldn't eat the dietician gave me Scandishake. I could even have it with ice cream in and I used to tell myself it was a Maccies milkshake.
They are very high in calories, perhaps you could ask if you could try one the next time you are hospital

HaveYouHeardOfARoadAtlas · 16/07/2023 17:53

Lovely photo of you both, glad to see you managed to get out. Your body needs the rest I guess to help heal and recover. All your cells will be fighting so hard inside, against the cancer, against the chemo. Tiredness is to be expected I suppose.

Jusmakingit · 16/07/2023 17:56

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ still here with you, standing strong in solidarity with prayers and thoughts xxx

Bluelass23 · 16/07/2023 18:00

Hi Pamela! good to hear you got out for a wee bit of fresh air as that couldn't have been easy for you.

Sending strength and a big gentle hug .... keep on fighting Warrior Lady we're all thinking about you Flowers

rileynexttime · 16/07/2023 18:02

If it's not too much of a shock to your sore mouth and tummy ,I'd recommend having the fortisip very cold ,over crushed ice .

A little fresh air and movement .Lots of sleep .Bless you and Kerr and your friend .

Lookitaahhh · 16/07/2023 18:05

Thanks for always updating us-it must take such an effort for you and I am always so grateful to hear how you are getting on. I love to see the photos too. As always, sending prayers, strength and love to you all ❤

Andywarholswig · 16/07/2023 18:05

Glad you got out for a little bit today Pamela, hoping that your blood test tomorrow gives you some good news to hold onto. You and Kerr are so cute together, it’s a lovely photo, Thankyou for sharing it

sonicmum2002 · 16/07/2023 18:10

You and Kert have great matching glasses! So glad that you had a trip out. Xxxx

FudgeMcFlurry · 16/07/2023 18:16

Well done on getting out but also don’t be afraid to rest and sleep if you feel like it. Remember the long release morphine will affect this as well. Good luck with the blood test tomorrow and hopefully you can arrange the district nurses to come and do dressing changes.

Lots of love and really hope that the pain continues to be manageable.

HelpIcantfindaname · 16/07/2023 18:26

It's so lovely to see you have managed to get out & enjoy some sunshine.

Your body is bound to be tired after everything you are going through. I was always shattered after chemo, especially after my couple of days on steroids. I made myself get up & get dressed every day though.

I'm sending a pic of our newest family member, we went to choose him yesterday, but have 4 weeks to wait till he comes home. This is Cooper.

Sending you love & strength. Xx

Benzydamine mouthwash can help with the sore mouth, Difflam do a version that you can buy from the pharmacy, it has a local anaesthetic in so it numbs your mouth and throat short term so you can eat more comfortably. You're doing so well and it sounds like Kerr is doing a great job in getting you out and about for fresh air and a bit of exercise. Here is my cat, also having a stretch

Museya15 · 16/07/2023 18:50

Pamela, I wish I could help you, this must be misery for you and there is no harm in lying down ,your body is under incredible strain. I'm an advocate for palliative nurses, please ask to be referred, that does not mean it's the end but they can help so so much, just to fit and talk to.xx

dontdillydallytoolong · 16/07/2023 19:11

First time I’ve posted on your threads but have been following since thread 2. I am in awe of your way of coping with all that is being thrown at you.

I came to say Fortisip is really quite unpalatable at the best of times but must be more so when your mouth is so sore and you’re coping with ulcers or thrush. The only advice I can give, in addition to asking about Scandishake as an alternative/additional dietary supplement, is to say keep it refrigerated and add a couple of ice cubes to a glass of it; it makes it easier to manage, and thins it out so it’s not quite so syrupy.

IMustDoMoreExercise · 16/07/2023 19:29

Lots of love.

❤❤❤

Missingmyusername · 16/07/2023 19:32

Good to see you out and about, you seem a little more restful and not in so much pain.
Lovely photo of you and Kerr.

DM mixed some orange juice and ice cubes in with her fortisip, she also liked to make me down some in solidarity!

Take care, thinking about you and your family every day. Be strong, keep fighting.

Ohmylovejune · 16/07/2023 19:50
