Hi everyone, I’ve created a new thread as I am overwhelmed to see that the last one is full. You have all filled me up with your hope and encouragement. I’m keeping going as long as I possibly can!!

Dear Pamela,

Another poster delurking here to say I’ll be thinking of you today and in the days ahead. I hope the journey goes quickly and as comfortably as possible for you.

I’m a doctor and I’m so very sorry at the way my profession has let you down. We have so many options for pain and symptom control that no one should suffer the way you have.

Very best wishes

Lizzie in Oxford xxx

I've been lurking and not commenting, just quietly following your journey. As an NHS worker I'm appalled at how you have been treated so far, and so angry on your behalf. However, I have also been in awe and your grit, and determination to fight to be here for your family. You are an amazing woman and an inspiration. I wish you all the luck in the world for your time in London and will continue to watch from afar.

cocksstrideintheevening · 05/07/2023 12:14

This is the same prof that certainly aided saving my neighbour and friends life from liver cancer when the NHS dithered. Im so hopeful you will have the same outcome. He is also in his 40s and had been suffering for 2 years with pain.

Lets hope your journey is a success

PoliticallyIncorrectHitchling · 05/07/2023 12:44

So glad that you made a decision to go to London. Sending you love, positive vibes and best wishes for a successful treatment Pamela.

Namechangexyzw · 05/07/2023 12:45

Dear Pamela,

I’ve been following your thread, admiring you more than I can say and growing angrier on your behalf with every update.

I am so glad you have chosen London, whatever happens. DH had a grim cancer prognosis a while back now. We decided that for both of our sakes we had to choose the life enhancing option at every stage. So he took some chances with more aggressive treatment. So far he’s been lucky, but the larger point is that this course of action is the one we wouldn’t second guess. I very much hope you and your family will feel the same way.

But DH had the NHS very much on his side back in those golden pre-pandemic days, in a relatively prosperous trust. His surgeon sped him through the system and this may have made the difference. I am furious that you and others have different experiences.

So you are hopefully settled in London with your family. That is very special in itself, but you also have my fervent wishes for the best possible outcome.

I’ve been following this from the previous thread but only just seen your latest update. I just wanted to take a moment to tell you what an absolute troooper you are Pamela. I am in awe of your bravery and determination during such a difficult time and I wish you every bit of luck with your treatment. Very best wishes to you and your family from mine xx

Wishing you all the best for a comfortable journey to London and successful treatment there ❤💞Love from Edinburgh

waterlego · 05/07/2023 12:48

I’m so pleased you have decided to travel to London Pamela, even though you shouldn’t have had to make such a tough decision when you feel so terribly unwell. I hope the journey goes quickly and you are meeting with the consultant very soon.

I think the ‘what ifs’ of not making this choice would have been hard to bear. You are giving yourself the best chance possible, and that was an incredibly brave choice to make.

Keeping you in my thoughts as you navigate the tough days to come. 💐

paulaparticles · 05/07/2023 12:52

Happy birthday Pamela. Thinking of you all today and how brave you are. Doing everything you can to live 😘

Cinnamope · 05/07/2023 12:53

Good luck Pamela!

cheezncrackers · 05/07/2023 12:54

Hi Pamela, I've been following your story since your first thread, but felt I didn't have much (or anything) useful to add. Your latest couple of posts though made me want to reach out to you and wish you all the very best today and for the treatment you'll receive in London. You write so beautifully, even in your darkest moments, and I pray that things will turn the corner for you, now that you have some hope and a treatment plan. I will hold you and your family in my thoughts, as I often have over the past few weeks. Safe trip today and good luck tomorrow. I really hope getting the stent will be the best birthday gift ever xx

Honeypickle · 05/07/2023 12:54

You are so brave and for what it’s worth, I think you have made the right decision. Best of luck and will be thinking of you and your loving family xxx

heathspeedwell · 05/07/2023 12:55

Thinking of you, beautiful, courageous Pamela.

I hope you will soon be comfortable in your hospital bed in London, getting proper pain management.

I'm so glad that you will finally be speaking to an oncologist who understands all the treatment options available to you. Got everything crossed for you and your lovely family.
