My DD3 has stage 4 Cancer

We are in shock, horror, disbelief. Last week she had a sore leg and went to A&E, now she has stage 4 Neuroblastoma and chemo starts on Tuesday.
She's only 3 but she's taking it in her stride. She cried the other night and said 'I don't want to be sick, I just want to go to nursery with my friends' it broke my heart.
The implications are just hitting, our whole lives are turned upside down for at least a year. One of us will have to give up work, how will we cope? Financially, emotionally.
I have a black lump in my stomach and can't believe this is happening to us

Just read your thread, what a strong little girl. Good luck today , I hope it goes as well as it possibly can.

Not the same but when my baby was in for a 6 hour surgery I spent the time doing everything I could to be the best I could be for him when he came out - eat, rest, shower etc. You've done everything you can do to support her until now and now it's the surgeons turn to do their bit

I have just caught up with this thread.what a rollercoaster you’re all on.Children have the greatest attitude towards cancer I have found-She sounds absolutely amazing!
She will cope as she’s so brave.
I will say a little prayer for her and you and DH.When my DS had major surgery years ago my DH and I went off for a walk and endless cups of tea- I’m afraid I got very snappy with him! It’s a terrible moment but it sounds like the team you have at the hospital are extremely competent.Wishing you all the best for your DD xx

I've just read through your thread and wishing you and DD much, much love for today.

This is going to definitely be a tough day, unimaginably so. At the same time, there is nowhere else your daughter could be today that would be better tor her. Nowhere else where they could help her more or take better care of her.

I'm now going to join the back of the very long queue of mumsnetters who want to give you a virtual hug!
