howlongtillbedtime · 15/04/2014 18:59

I have no pearls of wisdom but I am so sorry . another one here in the south east if you ever feel the need for the kind company of a stranger .

NationMcKinley · 15/04/2014 19:00

If there's anything I can do, please don't hesitate to ask, am SE London. Chemo can make your mouth dry, pure pineapple juice maybe useful. My friend also found that smelling pure essential lemon oil helped with her nausea (not everyone feels sick though, another friend didn't have the slightest bit of nausea Smile)

ParkingFred · 15/04/2014 19:07

Gosh, poor you.

Loads of wise MNers will give good advice. Wishing you strength.

yegodsandlittlefishes · 15/04/2014 20:06

Yes, friend on chemo found ginger was helpful to deal with nausea. The dried crystalised stuff. She also felt really cold too.

You're in the right place, getting the treatment you need. I wish we could parcel up strength and courage to send you!

Would happily send things to a post office or relative/friend if you'd prefer to keep your privacy.

Much Love to you, biscuits.

AreYouFeelingLucky · 15/04/2014 20:21

I'm around the SE - an hour or so from London. If you need anything, I'll help if I can.

Teared up reading this. I'm so, so sorry. I hope tomorrow isn't too bad - we're all rooting for you.

LaCerbiatta · 15/04/2014 20:57

So sorry you need to go through this. I'm in Cambridge and happy to help whatever way I can.

fideline · 15/04/2014 21:01

Have you been offered anti-anxiety meds biscuit? Is it worth asking? The speed of the whole thing must add to the fear. Some anti-emetics used during chemo are also anti-axiety drugs, I think, somaybe that's already in the plan.

Disregard, of course, if stupid/unhelpful suggestion.

fideline · 15/04/2014 21:08

What can we do to help?

Errands? Deliveries? Distractions?

sybilfaulty · 15/04/2014 21:12

Hi biscuits, so sorry that you are going through this.

My dad was diagnosed with AML a few years ago, so I have some idea of what you and your family are going through. I'm in London, not too far from UCLH (not sure if that's where you are) but if you need anything, please don't hesitate to ask.

Much love to you
