notapizzaeater · 14/04/2014 12:20

Macmilian can help you fill the forms in to get extra help.

(((Hugs and a hand to hold)))

fideline · 14/04/2014 12:24

Yes; Macmillan are good at disability benefits, which you must claim x

tallulah · 14/04/2014 13:20

I had a central line for Chemo. I was terrified as I am needle phobic. I can tell you it really honestly DOES NOT hurt when they put it in.

Cerisier · 14/04/2014 13:27

Another one thinking of you and sending hugs. What an awful shock for you and DH. Wishing you both strength for the weeks to come xx

McPheezingMyButtOff · 14/04/2014 13:36

I'm in the south. If you are near me and can be brave then I can and will help you. I'm on my useless phone right now, but if you are able to Pm me with which hospital you're in then I can start to help you with whatever you need.

You will not be alone xx

Lilymaid · 14/04/2014 13:40

Sending you best wishes.
DS2 has leukaemia (but CML, not acute). He had wonderful care in his hospital when he was diagnosed.
I have cancer and have recently had chemo via a portacath -which is the best way but less available on the NHS, I think.
The Tamoxigang thread in general health has lots of people (not all with BC) with plenty of knowledge about treatments.

Ilovemydogandmydoglovesme · 14/04/2014 13:46

Hey biscuits hope you're ok. Smile

saintlyjimjams · 14/04/2014 13:52

What a shock - definitely talk to the macmillan helpline (or in person if there is a centre near you) about finances. They can help xx

biscuitsandbandages · 14/04/2014 13:59

Told my parents. Hardest phone calls I have ever had to make. So many consultants all wanting a piece of me today. What a way to lose the baby weight!

Thinking of you, biscuits. Hang in there.

whattodoforthebest2 · 14/04/2014 14:31

Biscuits I can't imagine what you're going through, but I'm hoping now things are underway and you're getting information and care that it will be (slightly) less scary than it was last night.

So very difficult with a new baby and other little ones too. These first few days will hopefully fly by and you'll find some sort of routine to work to (I really hope so).

I'm in Surrey - if I can be of any help at all, do PM me. My DC are older (teens etc) so do ask if I can be of any help. Keep posting - so many people on here are fighting your corner with you - stay strong.

Thanks
IwishIwasmoreorganised · 14/04/2014 14:45

Good that the Drs are keeping you busy. That means they mean business.

BehindLockNumberNine · 14/04/2014 15:41

Oh Biscuits, what an awful, awful shock. I am in the South East, half way inbetween two big hospitals (20 minute drive to either of them). If you ever feel in need of the company of a kind stranger, or want books or food brought to you, then please please pm me. If you are near me I will do what I can for you xx

SweepTheHalls · 14/04/2014 15:48

Another hand here, so done will be online no matter what time to listen and chat. Xx

passmethewineplease · 14/04/2014 15:55

What a huge shock for you all. Thanks

Another hand to hold here too, I'm in the north west let me know if there is anything I can do.

Thinking of you biscuits x

CQ · 14/04/2014 15:57

Another hand here, Biscuits. When your head is a little clearer and you can focus on practicalities, just let us know what you need and where - there is a legion out here to help. You are NOT alone xxx

weebarra · 14/04/2014 16:00

Handholding biscuits. I was in a similar position to you 6 months ago - diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer when my Dc3 was 8 weeks old. I'd thought I had a blocked duct.
I'm just about to finish chemo (central line so much better than IV) and will be having my mastectomy next month. If you go on to the Tamoxigang thread in general health there is lots of support.

You CAN get through this - please pm me if I can help in any way.

DrewsWife · 14/04/2014 16:01

Biscuits. Reading this thread you have almost all of mumsnet rooting for you.

Take offers of help. Yes they are strangers. But strangers are friends you have yet to meet.

When my friends toddler was in I used to take food, magazines, books and more.

I'm a card maker. I'm happy to send you a weekly cheer up card to hang on your wall.

Please let mumsnet help. Having seen the power of these girls in a few threads my hats off to them x

Rachie1986 · 14/04/2014 19:05

Also happy to help in anyway - am in Berks. Remember we're here to help in anyway, from virtual hand holding to rl support to listening and chatting on here. Thinking of you still xxx

yegodsandlittlefishes · 14/04/2014 19:52

Hope your family live near enough to help out, biscuits, or at least visit often.

Hm, I do wish 'everyone having a piece of me' led to me losing some weight! Usually it is the opposite!

RockPaperScissorsLizardSpock · 14/04/2014 19:59

Evening biscuits Smile Thanks

How did today go?

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 14/04/2014 20:03
