(hey dotty, I was in your Pizza Express the other day and dd2 threw blackcurrent juice all over my jeans )

Dottydot · 31/01/2007 22:13

Blimey is that the time? You lot have kept me up way past my bedtime.

OK, have to admit it's been fun hanging out here - but don't intend to make a habit of it (unless MP's going to carry on throwing me buns)..!

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 31/01/2007 22:15

Dotty - you have your own Pizza Express?!

Dottydot · 31/01/2007 22:15

OO - I'm surprised that place is still open after the trashing we gave it...

sauce · 31/01/2007 22:15

I understand, Dot. I'm just a bit prickly because some people in my family shunned another member of my family when he came out. It almost killed him.

Dottydot · 31/01/2007 22:16

Oh yes - we comandeered one in Manchester for our Civil Ceremony reception - it was the subject of many a thread last summer (OK, just the one) and from henceforth is always referred to as 'my' PE!!

oliveoil · 31/01/2007 22:16

still open

but the corner booth is now purple, ha ha

marthamoo · 31/01/2007 22:17

I never knew you lived in Kathmandu, olive.

Dottydot · 31/01/2007 22:18

Sauce - that's awful - I'm so sorry to hear it. Sorry I'm being a bit glib on this thread - it's genuinely unsettled me a bit as I truly don't like anything that puts any kind of a barrier up between people - and I wouldn't have all the millions of sections we've got. Hope your relative got the support he needed.

homemama · 31/01/2007 22:20

Is it ok not to like all the new sections just because I can't bloody find anything or do i have tonot like them on some intellectual level?

oliveoil · 31/01/2007 22:21

both

marthamoo - yes, it is lovely at this time of year

homemama · 31/01/2007 22:21

I mean do we really need a section called, 'Am I being unreasonable? Every other thread asks that anyway?

sauce · 31/01/2007 22:27

He's getting there, Dot, thanks.

foxinsocks · 31/01/2007 22:28

Jimjams2 · 31/01/2007 23:09

I think its a good idea. Doesn't have to be thought of as being exclusive, just as a way of encouraging other gay parents to post. I know a few gay parents in RL, but don't see many on mumsnet. There must be some issues around being gay that make parenting different. Perhaps during teenage years in particular (thinking of a friend's experiences). This seems to be some sort of recognition that gay parents exist and "deserve" their own section as much as anyone else.

I am prepared to admit to talking crap, but I don't know to me it seems quite inclusive.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 31/01/2007 23:12

ROFL!

QueenEagle · 31/01/2007 23:14

Think I cvould make myself quite at home in this section .

VeniVidiVickiQV · 31/01/2007 23:35

OH fgs QE, its not a peepshow....

harpsichordcarrier · 31/01/2007 23:47

"many years ago - I played the Bach piano concerto in D minor in a concert on a harpsichord!"

NB this is v impressive

sandydut · 01/02/2007 10:24

I think we should have a thread for people who have had children by a married man.

Sandy

Marina · 01/02/2007 11:12

Does one's own husband count sandy

WeaselMum · 01/02/2007 11:19

wow - a gay parents section

I don't have anything particularly gay to say though - feel under pressure now

VVVQV - was thinking more along the lines of helping dd who appears to be struggling with her sexuality.

I blame the parents myself

noseyoldbag · 01/02/2007 22:48

Great to see this here.
