and Dotty if you don't hang around the bigmofo's and post (even if you don't weigh in) then I shall stalk you around MN.... there will be no escape

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 31/01/2007 22:04

is the technical term "lurking around"?

Dottydot · 31/01/2007 22:05

It's so lovely to have you back and think of you having Daniel home - I get all emotional just thinking about it Sue!

Kitty - you might be right, that's just not how I feel at the moment. I have been thinking is it the same as lone parent/step parent sections - not sure... If I was parenting my ds's alone, which one would I fit into? Suppose that's a daft question because there are so many sections on MN now. Maybe as I've been around MN so long I remember when there were so few differences between the sections (she says, sounding about 108...).

Dottydot · 31/01/2007 22:06

lurking around! Fab - will use it from now on.

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 31/01/2007 22:06

I rarely click on anything except active convo's so categories are irrelevant to me (do click on the adoption one so thats a little white lie)

harpsichordcarrier · 31/01/2007 22:06

do you normally lurk at me dd?
do you lurk in my general vicinity?
how marvellous

marthamoo · 31/01/2007 22:06

I don't know really - I guess there are things specific to being gay and a parent that maybe some people would prefer to post in a separate section - I remember posts like that in the past. But those posts were answered sensitively and informatively without having to be in a separate section, iyswim.

morningpaper · 31/01/2007 22:07

Am I allowed to Feed The Gays?

Dottydot · 31/01/2007 22:07

ooh yes Harpsi, I lurk often in your general vicinity! You always seem to be on the interesting threads and as a harpsichord player in a past life myself I've lurked with a certain affinity..!

marthamoo · 31/01/2007 22:08

Sorry, had gone back to serious and now it's daft again...

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 31/01/2007 22:08

I got emtional today too trying to get the little bugger to nap this afternoon. Desparately tired but wailed like I was sticking pins in his eyes when put down to sleep.

Cant really complain though - he's better natured than anyone else would be having gone through the changes he has.

Dottydot · 31/01/2007 22:08

yes please.

harpsichordcarrier · 31/01/2007 22:08

you play the harpsichord
how exciting

harpsichordcarrier · 31/01/2007 22:09

those threads only get interesting when I arrive you know

morningpaper · 31/01/2007 22:09

oi, that's my bun! she took my bun!

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 31/01/2007 22:09

No no no - no feeding. Can;t you read the signs? I shall report you to the big mofo's...

morningpaper · 31/01/2007 22:09

I can't believe there are TWO people who play the harpsichord on one thread

You see, that would never happen at the Bad Mothers Club

Dottydot · 31/01/2007 22:10

Martha - exactly - I've often posted stuff about (a) being a parent and (b) being a gay parent - different issues come up at different times. But I've posted on 'other' or 'parenting' and have had fab advice and support. And if new posters want support or advice or whatever on a gay topic I and others usually spot them and can wade in/be unhelpful etc...

marthamoo · 31/01/2007 22:10

I think it's very welcoming and inclusive in here. I may stay. Egg mayo sandwich, anyone?

sauce · 31/01/2007 22:11

I seem to remember there's a single parenting topic and a dad's topic and a special needs topic, etc. Separatism my fanny.

oliveoil · 31/01/2007 22:11

There are far to many topic sections imo

gerrid of em all and just have about 20 instead of the 120 or whatever we have now

Dottydot · 31/01/2007 22:11

Harpsi - many years ago - I played the Bach piano concerto in D minor in a concert on a harpsichord!

marthamoo · 31/01/2007 22:12

Exactly...I mean it's fine, but was it really needed? Ach, I don't care, I post anywhere, me (except buying and selling...I ostracise them completely...am totally buyingandsellingophobic).

Dottydot · 31/01/2007 22:12

Sauce - that's my point! There's too many sections - I'm not saying this is just gay separatism or whatever - it wasn't meant like that at all! And I do know I'm being daft...

kittylette · 31/01/2007 22:13

so is this just for gay people bringing up children in a gay relationship?

or is it also for for bisexual people?

or if you think one of your kids or hubby might be gay?

what if your in a straight relationship but are Bi and you need to talk about that?

or should you just post away anyways?
