is this okay for the school Headmistress to do this to me? they say i parked illegally this morning, took a photo of my car and have now emailed every single parent at my DS's school with all the information. nothing has been proved! i know i've probably annoyed a neighbour but is this fair how the Headmistress has acted? Surely I must have some rights too? It's just sooo embarrassing as I count lots of the mummies as my good friends. I don't think she should have been able to do this and would like to know my legal rights and complain about this treatment. Really awful for my DS too.

Yes, legally the head can do it. Your car is in a public place so legally it would be unreasonable for you to consider that a photo shouldn't have been sent. The head doesn't have to consider any facts/your side of the argument/excuses.

There is no your side of the argument. You were parked incorrectly and any excuses are irrelevent.

You may think you'd only been a few minutes.....the person five minutes before you, the person Five minutes after you, the person yesterday, the person last week probably all thought the same and justified it to themselves.

Hopefully now there won't be someone tomorrow.

Couldnt think what else to do? Drive on a bit? Even if that meant walking further?

LagunaBubbles · 10/11/2015 19:46

A huge big message, calling everyone who says youre in the wrong trolls .....and you still haven't said how you parked!

ReggaeShark · 10/11/2015 19:48

Speaks like an angel, parks like a cunt.

ReluctantCamper · 10/11/2015 19:50

Bwaaa ha ha, how to get a pasting on Mumsnet: call other parents 'mummies'

Or park like a bastard

Or do both

99percentchocolate · 10/11/2015 20:00

Highway Code rule 243 states that you should not park across the entrance to a property. If this is what you did, then it was illegal.
The photo being taken is not illegal as you were in a public place.
The photo being circulated would only be illegal if it stated that you had committed an illegal action when you hadn't. If you parked across a driveway then you commuted the illegal action you are accused of.
So although it's embarrassing, legally speaking, the HT did nothing wrong.

99percentchocolate · 10/11/2015 20:01

*commited

99percentchocolate · 10/11/2015 20:01

*committed. I give up.

AdoraBell · 10/11/2015 20:13

My DD's school, when we were overseas, did this when they put in a car park. Every car that was illegally parked, every time. It only took two weeks for everyone to get the messageGrin

SingSongSlummy · 10/11/2015 20:17

This thread had absolutely made my evening! You lot are funny today. And I'm 100% sure that the OP parks like a cunt every single day.

nilbyname · 10/11/2015 20:22

This thread has been very diverting.

Well done op! You're a legend in you're own lunchbox!

I can hear the very carefully composed response and how many redrafts did they take you?

Just for clarity, myself with probably many other "sisters" Confused worked today and checked intermittently.

TheDailyWail · 10/11/2015 20:24

Oh I do wish that I could send a link to this thread to the head teacher of the school. Grin

verycrossandembarrassed · 10/11/2015 20:29

Except this isn't real. We just wanted to see if you'd bite. And haven't you all! Well done... A few decent people here who are actually listening to what people say. most of you...EEK! What a nasty bunch. (How may smiley faces should I add now, to try to get on to a Mumsnet level?)

Keep telling yourself that OP......keep telling yourself that.

LibrariesGaveUsP0wer · 10/11/2015 20:34

Yeah. Whatever.

Or the last post made you realise all the school mums have read it and are laughing at you and you want it deleted.

Either way, no skin off my nose. Don't suspect anyone was emotionally invested.

Btw, was not getting irony part of the joke? It's 20 years since it came out. ...

YetAnotherHelenMumsnet · 10/11/2015 20:45

Stand down, everybody, we've removed this person's posting privileges. There aren't enough smileys in the world...

LibrariesGaveUsP0wer · 10/11/2015 20:47

Aw but Helen it was lovely . Never seen so many MNers agreeing. Peace and love all round.

NoSquirrels · 10/11/2015 20:49

Well, what a very strange thing to try to get a rise out of MNers for. You could have tried with something a bit less black and white, eh? You know, if you're going to troll you might as well do it properly.

I love how the OP suddenly became multiple people in their last post. I did read the OP and think 'troll'. Using the word 'mummies' is often a bit of a give away. But then the degree of righteous indignation in the later posts had me convinced.

The very amusing replies do remind me why I love this place sometimes!

fastdaytears · 10/11/2015 21:03

Honestly trolls really aren't what they were are they?

GingerIvy · 10/11/2015 21:07

You just can't get good trolls anymore.

Devora · 10/11/2015 21:09

Never mind, OP: as I said upthread, MN was delighted to see your opening post. You've given us all a great deal to slaver over Grin

SilverBirchWithout · 10/11/2015 21:12

Poor quality trolling. Try harder next time. Hmm

Can we report someone who is pretending to be a troll, but piss poor at their attempt?
