Adoption, fostering and a bit complex!

I was adopted as a baby in 1971 and lived with my adopted parents until March 1987 when they were both drowned in the Zeebrugge Ferry disaster. I was put in short term foster care and then long term foster care until I timed out on my 18th birthday.

I was allowed to visit my former home, on the day after the funeral, to collect my belongings but never stayed there again. When my aunt and uncle came back from Denver in 1989 they lived there for a while.

Now I can sort of understand why I wasn't in the will, being adopted rather than a birth child. But as somebody told me over Christmas, and why I am writing, surely I was left something. Did I really matter so little.

I see the other thread has gone. Did I miss anything especially funny while I was cleaning vomit off the sofa?

sadfailednovelist · 09/02/2012 17:24

Oh did they delete whilst I was on the way home? Sad

sadfailednovelist · 09/02/2012 17:33

The world seems to be against me!

Oh, I got deleted loads [botheredface]

Surprised the whole thread hasn't gone tbh.

I haven't been deleted for ages. The last time was when I told a troll to cock off if he didn't like it here, which MNHQ deemed 'a personal attack'. I still think it was more of 'a helpful suggestion'.

sadfailednovelist · 09/02/2012 19:25

41! From which thread? This one? Well I got my wrist gently slapped by MNHQ. Shame the thread went - I was getting in the swing of it!

I saved some of your word, sadfailednovelist, but I suspect I missed a lot as I went out in the afternoon. It was superb.

Wild applause from me, Porto Grin

I saved a copy before I left work, but that was about 4.30.....I am guessing it went downhill....

If people don't like the site rules that have been put in place to protect all users then they are 100% free to take their custom elsewhere. What they shouldn't be free to do is to flaunt the rules, in this case troll hunting, multiple times with nothing more than a slapped wrist (and not always that from what you read) and their message being deleted.
When the same small group of people do this lots of times on different threads over months or years you have to wonder what the XXXX is going on at HQ!

FaithHopeAndKevin · 10/02/2012 09:37

Indeed, Penandink - what is going on?

Penandink · 10/02/2012 09:45

There used to be people who stood up against the troll-hunters but with so little support from HQ (see above) and due to the way that saying anything about the Huinters usually results in public sarcasm and abuse what was the point? Now almost all of us just remain silent, or have wondered off into the sunset with nasty memories of Mumsnet.

And that I think is a pity!

Why are you so invested in this penandink?

Portofino · 10/02/2012 09:51

penandink, who died and made you MN's moral compass?

" ... and due to the way that saying anything about the Hunters usually results in public sarcasm and abuse what was the point?"

And Portofino and Queen rather prove my point by being resorting to, err sarcasm and abuse, within 15 minutes.

Portofino · 10/02/2012 10:11

Sorry - but I don't have much sympathy with anyone who defends this emotional vampire of a troll, who makes up shit on Bereavement boards, in an attempt to elicit symapthy from genuinely bereaved people.

In this thread, I know RL people who DIED and friends who lost family members at Zeebrugge - it was the reason the thread caught my attention in the first place.
