3rd, 4th, 5th(!) babies do they come late or early?

OK dp and I are discussing

I know folklore is the third labour/birth is diferent from the others.

What about subsequent ones? I told dp I thought they reverted to the old pattern ie if first and second were late they usually are too, he thinks they get successively earlier

for me it goes like this

dc1 1 day early
dc2 9 weeks early
dc3 12 weeks early
dc4 14 weeks early

I did not find after pains worse after each child! I barely had any with any of them!

DC1 40 + 8
DC2 37 (induced)
DC3 40+ 5 hours!
DC 4 was on time - CS - unstable lie (transverse to footling breech). However, I was going into labour on the day of the cs - so would've been 40 or 40+1 in anycase!

ds1- 40+14 (18hrs, ventouse)
ds2- 40+1 (6 hours, fabulous)
ds3 40+7 (45 mins, very intense)

ds1 induced 2 weeks early
induction to birth around 4 hours
ds1 one days early - first contraction to birth around 409minutes (no typo
ds3 - 2 weeks early - first proper contraction to birt about 40 minutes

maybe i am just a freaky birther though

ds2 - 1 minute
ds3 5 minutes

mine are first contraction to out. if it's waters brteaking then... had them broken for the first 2, so maybe tat doesn't count, but for ds3 waters went and he was out oooh, 5-10 mins later

oh and yes, my afterpains were worse with ds2, and with ds3 they were agonising, just like having contractions all over again
would put me off having another
