Anyone nearly due with DC 4 or more?
51

BlabBlub · 21/01/2022 04:59

Hi, I'm booked in for a รง section in 3 weeks time with baby number 4, I'm 36 weeks and this pregnancy seems to have flown by. I can't believe I'm going to have 4 DC!

Anyone else due with a 4th+ want to chat?

I'm pregnant with my 4th but only found out this week. How do you feel about having 4 children very soon?

Congratulations! How are you feeling? Personally I'm not worried about having 4 at all. Mine are 10, 8 and nearly 2 so they older ones don't need much practical help from me if you know what I mean? Bit worried about the toddlers reaction as he is too young to understand that he is going to have a younger sibling in a few weeks!

Have had a few judgey comments but I'm trying to just ignore. This is definitely our last.

@BlabBlub thank you! I'm feeling normal, still very early days. Do your older ones help with the housework? What I worry about most is the amount of laundry. Washing it and drying it is fine, but it's the folding and putting away in the wardrobes. I wish my older (8) could put her own laundry away.
@Stopcallingmemum lol not long now. This will also be my last. I cant believe I'm doing this again after all the complaining I did last time towards the end lol

Pink, yes my older 2 put away their own laundry. I am quite strict about them helping out at home. So I expect them to put any dirty clothes in the washing basket or they don't get washed. I'll then wash and dry everything which gets shoved in a washing basket. The kids then sort the clothes into 3 piles. Dc1 clothes, dc2 clothes, and then everything else. They then put all their own clothes away. They empty and load the dishwasher at least once a week, hoover, I've even had them cleaning windows before Grin that makes it sound like I've got them slaving away all day every day but they probably only do one job a day, if that. I also expect them to help with cooking because I just think it's important for them to learn essential life skills. With supervision and a bit of help, my 8 year old can make a full meal.

I'm worried about the amount of laundry too. I already ahve the washing machine on constantly because we use cloth nappies and I don't use a drier.

Do you know when your due date is yet?

Stop, oh wow you must be super woman with such small age gaps. It will be so lovely having them all grow up together. I'm also 36 weeks. I'm due 17th Feb when's your due date? Mine was also a huge suprise. DH was not happy to begin with and I honestly thought we'd split up at one point but after the first scan he finally came round and we are all really pleased.

I'm dreading all the washing!!! There's Something about putting it away isn't there! lol
My husband was the one who told me I was pregnant.. and he was quite happy about it.. I wasn't so happy. I hate being pregnant I get really bad HG for the first 20 weeks, I had mum guilt over everything.. it's taken me till the last 3 weeks to get my head around it and actually buy stuff for the baby & I'm due 15th Feb.. do you know what your having @BlabBlub
How'd your husband/dp take the news? @Pinkflamingofly

Sorry but more like stupid woman made me laugh! I feel the same most days. Like 4 kids what am I doing?! Grin I had HG in my first 3 pregnancies so I can sympathise with you there. I've still been really sick this time round but managed to avoid hospital and not been quite as bad. I actually said to my husband last night that I hadn't been sick in nearly 2 weeks. Then guess what happened this morning ๐Ÿ™„

Do you feel ready and have everything you need now?

I'm having a boy. I've got 1 DD and 2 DS already. What about you two?

@BlabBlub I like your style, I need to make my kids do more housework. At the moment, they do nothing apart from tidying up their rooms. I need to up my game before number 4 arrives or I'll never be able to cope. I'm due towards the end of September, my third one is also born on September. They will be 2 years between them.
I'm sorry you've been suffering with hg, cant imagine the pain it must be!
@Stopcallingmemum DH cried when I told him, but tears of joy. We've been ttc for several months and extremely happy to finally get a positive result. He wants to find out the sex, but I want to keep it a surprise like we did with number 3. Do you think it would realistic for him to find out and not tell me?

Awh that's lovely.. so glad you got your positive! What have you got already? I think if your dh is anything like mine he'd slip up and tell you by accident saying he/she lol

How many rooms do your houses have? We only have 3 bed.. we only moved in just before having our last..

I've got 2 girls and a boy. They've all got their own rooms at the moment, we've got a 4 bedroom. But they'll have to start sharing with this new one. Not sure who's going with who yet. Theres a 7 year gap between my two girls. What's your plan?

Stopcallingmemum · 22/01/2022 16:35

Argh.. I'm dreading it, at the moment the girls share a room we had a bunk bed/cot made, their all rooms is hugeee so it would easily fit another bed/cot for a year or so.. then we'll have to move to a 4 bed and the youngest 2 will share cause there will be about 17 months between them.. my son had his own little man room and is soo happy he'll never have to share lol moving is far to stressful lol

Aw that's so lovely @Pinkflamingofly, my DH was on the verge of tears but they definitely weren't happy ones! We can laugh about it now though. Have you got any pregnancy symptoms or have a booking appointment yet?

@Stopcallingmemum we are in a 3 bed too. I've only just moved my toddler into my older DSs room but we will be moving to a 4 bed hopefully this year, if not next year. It's a long story but we are trying to get dc2 into a special needs school so don't want to move until we know what's happening. The baby will be in with us for the first 18 months/2 years anyway so it's not really a problem.

What are you doing about cars? We got a 7 seater when I was pregnant with Dc3 so luckily we are sorted car wise.

@ReadtheFT your madder than us all having a 5th!!! Shock lol how's old are yours?
Awh it's hard enough moving and unsettling the kids without having to worry about specialist schools isn't it.. hope that gets sorted asap. We luckily rent so moving isn't that bad.. but I just HATE moving! & There seems to be no 4 beds around here.. we have a 7 seater too luckily. How you been feeling this pregnancy? I literally feel like this baby may fall out any minute.. all the aches and pains
are ridiculous Sad lol

Hi ladies, how are you feeling? @blabblub I havent got my booking appointments yet, still too early. I dont have any symptoms either, apart from being cold and waking up too early in the morning. When did your symptoms start? We've also got a 7 seater, we changed cars when I was expecting number 3 and decided to get a bigger car just in case. I'm glad we did.
@Stopcallingmemum how are you feeling? Were you early or overdue with your other babies?
@readtheft how are you finding it with 4? How was your labour with your last one? Does it get quicker?

He's fitted in really well, just struggling abit with relux and getting him to take gaviscon as he's breastfed, but will get there.
@stopcallingmemum I make sure all the school clothes/clothes/lunches are ready the night before and I have to make sure everywhere is tidy before I go to bed, I cant stand coming down to yesterday's mess. Hubby is really hands on which helps x

Lol and I agree if I get up to a messy house I'm in a bad mood for the day lol I'm at that stage in pregnancy where none of the cleaning my husband does is good enough, nor the way he does the kids homework/reading.. or anything really lol I know I'm being unreasonable to him but I have 0 control of my hormones lol x

Not so different with 4 then woth 3,prob easier as baby always had someone to distract him. Got a bit overwhelmed when he was 4/5 months steuggling to kkep on top of the house work etc, but that was due to other things too. Labour early stage was on n off for a few days, and a when started found it a bit more difficult then some of the others, due i think to him not being positioned optimally well. Still it was only a few hours , everything went well and no tears so good enough lol!
