Double buggy recommendations

Hi. Not sure if this is the right place, but need some advice on double buggy for newborn and toddler (just gone 2). We live in a city and walk nearly everywhere, and don't think toddler has the energy to walk / use buggy board for anything more than very short journeys at this stage. Think I'd prefer side by side type. Don't want to spend loads of money, and don't really need it to be compatible with baby car seat. Also, would be great if it could be taken on holiday easily for baby and toddler to nap in eg if going to restaurants in eve etc. Had a quick look online - are the maclaren techno good for baby and toddler? And do you have to buy extra bits for baby?

Hello!

We've noticed that this thread is quite old now, and some of the product recommendations are a little out of date. We've spent weeks speaking to parents and testing the top-performing pushchairs on the market to find the best double buggy for toddler and newborn.

Hope this helps! Flowers

I found the Phil and teds sport amazing. It's a double decker so you can get on a bus or down the aisle of a shop just as easily as wth and single buggy and as the baby grows you can convert it to two toddler seats. They are pricey new but you can pick them up on eBay very cheaply these days...

I've got a baby jogger city mini double and really rate it. I haven't had another to compare to, but it's easy to steer, seats recline, fits easily through doorways, and folds down very easily.

I had the Phil and Teds but sold it after a week - the back seat was too close to the ground for my liking. Replaced it with Baby Jogger City Mini and it was fab!!! Only (minor) complaint was it didn't fit through some shop doorways but every other feature more than made up for it. It was one of the best, best things we bought when we had babies.

A friend also rates her iCandy double so maybe another one to look at?

I've got both a Phil and teds sport and a city mini double. I've had the most use from the Phil and teds. Like pp said it easily fits through all doorways etc and I find it great off road on longer walks in parks etc if the ground isn't even. However, if you are set on a side by side then the baby jogger city mini is really good too. I personally hated my umbrella style side by side and sold it straight away, folds small for holiday if that's what you want it for but is awful to push, felt like hard work! The other option is to carry baby in a sling or put your toddler in a carrier, mine loves going on my back (although by 2 they do start to get a bit heavy!)

Nipper 360 for a side by side - soooo easy to push, and fits through doors.

Phil & Teds Navigator for a tandem. Uppababy 2015 looks like a fab tandem but too pricey unless you have it from birth of dc1 really.
