Just out of curiosity, wondering how many children people have in three bedroomed houses and how they are arranged

we have five.

four boys and one girl.

at moment ds1and ds2 share one room.
ds3 and ds4 share another and dd is in with us, she co-sleeps at mo but we have toddler bed in our room for her.

we may put younger three all in together for a bit and we also have the option to extend into loft or a room downstairs.

5madthings · 25/08/2013 10:35

btw if it helps they are 14, 11, 8 and 5 the boys and then dd is two :)

nkf · 25/08/2013 10:36

Two.

Bonkerz · 25/08/2013 10:44

4 here. Dd age 12 and dd age 7 share a large room with bunk beds then ds age 13 shares with ds age 2 ds13 is on a high sleeper and ds age 2 is on junior bed underneath.

We have three.

Ds1 six, and ds2 two, share a room and will, have bunks once ds2 is older cos at the moment I can't trust him not to climb up.
Dd four has the single room and dh and I the remaining double.

My friends has six in a two bed flat, no idea how she fits them all in!

DiaryOfAWimpyMum · 25/08/2013 11:09

2dc and me, we have a bedroom each.

purplepippin · 25/08/2013 11:11

I have 5 dc in a 3 bed, we have ds1,2, and 3 in one room and ds4 and dd1 in another and we have the other. It's not ideal and with ds1 starting secondary school next year we have got to change things around so he has more space.

PattieOfurniture · 25/08/2013 11:14

When I was a kid we lived in a 3 bed house, 4 brothers in one room two bunk beds, me and two sisters in another 1 bunk 1 single, parents in the other room, we moved to a 4 bed soon after then my other brother was born, so still a squeeze.

TallyGrenshall · 25/08/2013 11:18

When I was little it was 2 boys in the smallest room and 3 girls in the larger room.

My DB currently has 2 boys in one, 1 girl in the other and the baby will eventually move in with her sister

num3onway · 25/08/2013 13:19

Gosh!
And there was me saying we wouldn't have any more as we have three in a three bed house already! Lol! Where on earth do you keep all their things!

We used to have three children in a three bed. We gave the eldest two the master bedroom and the youngest one the smallest room.
We have since moved and now have four children in a five bed, so a bedroom for each child. Storage is so much easier. A wardrobe per child makes life a lot simpler too. We would not have had a fourth child without buying a bigger house, iykwim.

Vajazzler · 26/08/2013 00:57

We have 5 in a 3 bed. They all swap beds regularly to get a change of scenery Grin ds10, dd9, dd7, ds6, ds3

imip · 27/08/2013 09:01

We have a four br house but only use two bedrooms! Dd1 6, dd2 5 and dd3 3 allshareby choice. Dd4 19moths shares with us. The plan is for dd3 and 4 to share, but some essential DIY work needs to be carried out first .

5 in a 3 bed- 1 girl and four boys. ds1 has his own room (middle-sized room), dd has her own room (box room), two of the boys have the largest room, ds4 sleeps downstairs (in the front room- should be the living room) with us. However when our extension is built, we'll be sleeping in that and ds4 will go upstairs in the larger room with two of his brothers (he sleeps in our bed most nights).

We lived in a 3 bed when we had our 4th child- and our last house was also a 3 bed- although admittedly would never have moved into it if we'd known there was going to be a number 5, it was a squash with 4.

NAR4 · 28/08/2013 23:05

We did have 4 in a 3 bedroom house. 3 teenage boys sharing the master bedroom and 1 girl in the box room with dh and me in the middle size room. Had our garage converted when pregnant with dc5. Now have 2 teenagers sharing converted garage, 1 in middle size bedroom, did in box room and baby in with us, but he will share with dd when he stops night feeds.

princesscupcakemummyb · 05/10/2013 20:17

il have 3 in a 3 bed house 2 daughters & 1 boy

KatyPutTheCuttleOn · 05/10/2013 20:22

Two in a three bed. One has a large bedroom (the master and second bedroom are the same size) and the other has a slightly larger than normal box room which will just about fit a double. I am planning to switch bedrooms next year and give the youngest the master bedroom so there is room for sleepovers and so on.

Ra88 · 05/10/2013 20:22

1 and 1 on the way ! Couldn't imagine any more than that Confused

LegoAcupuncture · 05/10/2013 20:26

Three boys, oldest in small room younger in the bigger. I would love a 4 bedroom house so they could have their own space.

jasminerose · 05/10/2013 20:50

We are in 2 bed flat with 2 and will be having 1 more in here.

melmo26 · 05/10/2013 21:20

4 dds in a 3 bed house, oldest 2 dd1 5 dd2 4 have master room with bunk bed, dd3 21 mo has middle size room and dd4 6mo sleeps in our room in cot bed. We do not trust dd3 to not climb in dd4 bed and sit on her!
We will eventually not have a baby in our room :)

TwoAndTwoEqualsChaos · 11/10/2013 01:12

4 (and one room is, effectively, a box room ....!).

BobbyGentry · 11/10/2013 02:06

Have you thought about triple bunk-beds?

Have seen them used well :)
