continuing on from the last thread which morphed from a discussion about antisemitism to tracking it globally.

I’ve probably missed people out

to start off with something positive - this was a few yeshiva students response to antisemitism ❤️🕎

“Three Jewish college students from NJ were dancing at Denver International Airport. They said they were motivated to do this after the mass shooting in Australia: “We will not be scared or give in to the darkness, we will only add more and more light.” Happy Hanukkah!”

they’re playing my favourite zusha chanuka song, and one of them looks like DHs nephew who lives in America! Had to do a double take and check it wasn’t him!😆

Who was the other man and why didn't he help?

Who was the other man and why didn't he help?

There was an older man did who try to stop the attacker I think, but the situation seemed quite dangerous for him as well.
The man who was attacked said while it was happening, he was just cross with himself that he’d worn his kippah and that he was had allowed himself to be visibly Jewish, which is so sad.

InertBird · 25/04/2026 00:53

The attacker has been charged with racially aggravated assault, but was bailed? I think he's dangerous and shouldn't be left to roam the streets. Why is everything so broken?

GentleSheep · 25/04/2026 01:28

The man who approached them in the video looked a lot older and might have been understandably nervous about being attacked himself. However he did approach and try to intervene, if tentatively. And no that man shouldn't be let out on bail.

That you can't be visibly Jewish is shocking.. seriously.

Diamond82 · 25/04/2026 07:55

Can’t believe he’s been let out on bail. Imagine if he sees another visibly Jewish person, he’s absolutely not safe to be around. That’s shocking.

EdithStourton · 25/04/2026 08:20

The judge said her hands were tied about bail. For some offences the accused can't be held on remand. My understanding is that since this <searches desperately for a description that won't get me deleted> repulsive antisemite didn't use a weapon, he couldn't be remanded in custody.

EdithStourton · 25/04/2026 08:33

I'm so pissed off this morning. When I think of the raging and squealing from so many quarters about Brexit ('fascist'), Nigel Farage ('fascist'), anyone flying a flag of St George's ('fascist') and so on, my blood pressure goes through the roof because exactly the same class of people (BBC, Guardian, etc) has either supported the Gaza marches, or sat on its bloody hands, as people who openly support Hamas and their (often ill-informed) acolytes chant 'from the river to the sea' and accuse Israel of every sin in the antisemites' guidebook. They've failed to prosecute agitators (like those low-lifes who drove around north London, and some Islamist preachers), they mealy-mouth their way around issues of antisemitism in political parties that they support, they failed to guarantee the safety of Jews in the streets around the marches.

They've enabled this. They refuse to admit that there is a big problem with antisemitism in Muslim communities, and until they - the government, the police, the judiciary - do that, they're not going to get very far.

It shouldn't need saying that not every Muslim is an antisemite, but I have FB friends from a Muslim-majority country and and I have ditched one, and have had Words with another, which many of them will have seen as they all know each other. Nice people, hospitable people, kind people - but with this MASSIVE delusion about Jewish people.

Until our government finds its balls and tackles that, British Jews will suffer.

OrangeAxolotyl · 25/04/2026 08:46

You're right, @EdithStourton . It enrages me that Muslim students at our school have worn face and body paint depictions of the Palestinian flag, badges, bracelets, Keffiyehs, bags and charms, all identifying themselves as Muslims and being pro Palestinian. The Jewish students (only a handful) have felt it necessary to remove jewellery or any other signs that they're Jewish, and don't talk about their home life and culture. That stark contrast, in schools in the UK, is very concerning, and reflects what's happening in society.

Also teachers… plenty of teachers at my kids schools have little Palestine flag pins or similar.

Very true. We were told not to, but I keep seeing it. Keffiyehs, bracelets, badges etc
One woman wore the flag on her lanyard and was told not to. She contacted the NEU who argued her case with the HT.

Wtf! Teachers should not be allowed to wear political badges/slogans etc. Totally inappropriate.

It's not only inappropriate, it's against the Teaching Standards.
We have to be politically neutral. It's just that some people seem to get away with it.

ErroltheSwampDragon · 25/04/2026 10:43

Are the teachers that are doing this part of the #bekind brigade? I genuinely wonder if they realise they are contributing to a hostile environment and the bullying of children. They should be ashamed, but they're probably just self-righteous

OrangeAxolotyl · 25/04/2026 10:52

The latter, @ErroltheSwampDragon .

OrangeAxolotyl · 25/04/2026 16:49

You should read the magazine.
Definitely a strong bias.

Seagullsandsausagerolls · 26/04/2026 12:55

Not sure if anyone has came across the Michael Jackson thread where a poster blames Israel for "setting" him up. I reported it yesterday but it's still up.

I hadn't but I looked it up and it's been taken down. Although there's some sort of post about an Israeli boyfriend beating up Latoya or something that's still up.

Must be bad if even suspended by the Green Party! I forgot about all those unhinged posts by his wife Nadia Sawalha. What a pair.

They chose this guy to be an MP?

“A choral concert fundraiser for the victims of the Bondi Beach terror attack at a Jewish event in Sydney has been canceled after local Greek singers opposed singing alongside their Jewish counterparts in the planned joint performance...

However, last Monday, during rehearsals, a vote was taken and over half the Hellenic choir “politically objected” to performing with their Jewish counterparts, according to the report.
Others said they feared a possible attack on the event...

The concert was to raise money for the victims…”

how can you “politically object” to performing alongside Australian Jews… ? 🤔

That's so effed up. Surely the Greek choir knew it was a fundraiser for Jewish victims of an attack on Jews, for crying out loud? So if they hate Jews that much, why did they agree to participate in the first place? So sick of this shit!
