they’re playing my favourite zusha chanuka song, and one of them looks like DHs nephew who lives in America! Had to do a double take and check it wasn’t him!😆

When I was looking at the fundraiser a couple of hours after it started, it wasn't the amount of money that made me tear up, it was the amount of individuals who had donated. That's the bit that really means something as it means we're not alone. So thank you to anyone who donated, shared the donation link or just generally showed support 💐

I saw the president of the synagogue interviewed on TV yesterday and the inside of the synagogue looked mostly OK, not the mess you might expect. Yes there was damage to windows and a door, but everything else seemed fine.

The synagogue in the states that was just attacked looks a total mess. Have donated there as well. It’s all very overwhelming.

I have donated again to the CST, because they have even more of a task, trying to keep the community safe.

@PurpleThistle7 What's your trick to staying so calm and collected on the ambulance thread? I think I need lessons from you and @EllaDisenchanted 😂 The longer I spend on threads like that, the more sweary and impatient I get.

It feels like whack-a-mole on that thread. Every time you finish arguing with one person making antisemitic (or just nonsensical) points, another pops up to take their place

@Humdingerydoo just walk away! Honestly I think it is just a lot easier than what I’m navigating in person so I can stay somewhat removed from it. It’s a helpful way for me to practice things I try to say to people face to face maybe? I’m not very brave in person, easier on my phone!

Jokes aside I’ve run out of vodka, my cherry brandy is just dregs, the whiskey is all but demolished and I stupidly gave my kids a very very cheap karaoke machine which basically turns their voices louder screechier and off key.
The situation is serious. Send help (more vodka/chocolate also works).

My favourite part about it is the obvious relevance to the topic at hand. It's so nice when people just stay on topic, you know?

Who doesn't love to learn...I did some more reading (on their actual website, not Wiki) and apparently its linked to the Knights of St John and their work in 11th century Jerusalem

I blame the IRGC. Too many sirens and pre alerts so of course it occurred to me what we needed was MORE LOUD NOISES.
