Really disappointed (but not surprised. Never surprised.) to see the All Lives Mattering of "Never Again" on MN.

Co-opting and exploiting a phrase that is so significant and specific to the Holocaust and Jewish suffering wrought by genocidal antisemitism is just grim. I'm struggling to understand how anyone doing this has convinced themselves it's not offensive and distressing to Jews when they'd consider this kind of misappropriation unacceptable if it was being done to any other minority.

Yup. It's been bothering me for months but assumed as no one else was saying anything I was just being overly sensitive 🙈 Glad to see it's not just me who finds it disturbing.

Not being overly sensitive, I've noticed it a lot too. But if you think that's bad, there's been some shitty All Lives Mattering on FWR, which has really pissed me off after watching that video earlier.

The FWR thread is awful. I've found in the past that posts minimising or denying the rapes of 7th Oct have been pretty robustly challenged on that board but there are some awful posters on there.

Did anyone hear Carla Denyer being interviewed on Radio 4 this morning? She was asked about the Green candidate for one area of Bristol (don't know his name) who is being investigated for antisemitic social media posts. She was awful. Denied any in depth knowledge of what he had said, then refused to condemn it, then started banging on about how antisemitism gets misused and we mustn't confuse it with criticism of Israel and anyway her Jewish mate said so. She has all the political sophistication of the chair of a 6th form politics society.
