42 and starting IVF treatment tomorrow - would love some company for the journey ☺️

Hi ladies, so, as the title reads, I start the injections tomorrow evening. I have an appointment with my clinic (Care) tomorrow morning for the baseline scan and to get the treatment plan. Meds have arrived so we are ready to go! My AMH is 8.3 with follicle count of 14.

I had my son via IVF 11 years ago and was very lucky that it worked first time and on the NHS. This time it's private and costing a fortune. This is the only shot we have at this so we are feeling the pressure for sure.

I fell pregnant last month naturally (first time ever due to PCOS) but that ended in a chemical at 5 weeks. We are opting for PGTA testing and keeping everything crossed for a euploid.

Is anyone else starting this journey?

Thanks @Magix86 ! Hope you’re doing ok, disappointing about the delay for your FET. How are you feeling about it? Is there anything you’re doing to prepare for the transfer? Hope you get some clarity on dates soon. The constant waiting and not being able to plan is hard isn’t it?

I've just taken my trigger shots, Ovitrelle and Arvekap. Eeek. Overjoyed that stabbing week is over! Egg retrieval early Monday morning and then flying home on Tuesday. At my last scan there were 13 follicles but three of them were on the small side, so no idea really how many eggs to hope for. Dr G is always so positive and encouraging so I'm hoping the positive vibes have helped in some small way (apparently my uterine lining is "beautiful!"😂)

@Magix86 oh that sucks, having to wait an extra month. I was really hoping to be able to come back for FET in my next cycle but I guess they're fully booked... hopefully they can fit me in for November. This process has made me awfully impatient.

Thanks @Wiennetta I'm not really doing much to prepare. I've not had a frozen transfer before so not really sure what I should be doing! I guess just eating healthier and taking supplements 🤷🏻‍♀️ I've read lots of comments from ppl drinking beetroot juice and pomegranate juice so I guess I'll get some of that!

Out of 10 eggs collected yesterday: 9 mature, 6 fertilised.

6 little embryos. Just gotta get past the next few days, and then PGT-A 🙏

(Also, I have never been so bloated in all my life, it’s so uncomfortable!!)

We've done everything on our end now so just waiting on the clinic to schedule our FET. The constant waiting at every step is so difficult to manage for me. I just feel like we're never getting there!

Feeling a bit cheated financially also as our clinic have now stopped the package we paid for which included only 1 transfer and replaced it with another package with 1 fresh and 2 frozen transfers!! If we'd have known we would have waited a couple of months to do this package instead 😒

How did others feel on stims? I’m on day 7 and still feel really fine, just a few headaches. But not feeling really bloated or anything. So now obviously wondering what that means and worrying…!

@Magix86 I may not be understanding that correctly - they changed your package, and therefore your costs, without consulting you first? That feels like something that absolutely needed to have a chat about with you. I think it’s completely reasonable to feel put out by that. Definitely not the best way to handle things

@Wiennetta i wouldn’t stress about it. Everyone responds differently. Personally I didn’t really have any major symptoms until close to the end when the bloating decided to really kick in and I got some headaches around then. See how your scans go and don’t be afraid to advocate if you feel like they aren’t showing the progress you’d expect to see but sometimes all the work happens inside without major effects

Sorry @PearOpal I probably didn't explain myself too well! So basically we paid for a duostim cycle - with one transfer included. They've sent us their pricing for our upcoming FET and they've stopped doing that package now and instead are doing one which includes 1 fresh transfer and 2 frozen. So we missed out on 2 frozen transfers. It was a bit more expensive but not as much as paying for 2 separate transfers. We have spoken to the clinic today tho and they've agreed to change us over to their new package - we pay the difference in fees and we will get the 2 transfers. So it's all resolved 🙂

@Wiennetta don't worry - I had over 20 follicles growing and I wasn't too bloated or uncomfortable as far as I can remember!! Have you had your first scan yet?
