Hi ladies, so, as the title reads, I start the injections tomorrow evening. I have an appointment with my clinic (Care) tomorrow morning for the baseline scan and to get the treatment plan. Meds have arrived so we are ready to go! My AMH is 8.3 with follicle count of 14.

I had my son via IVF 11 years ago and was very lucky that it worked first time and on the NHS. This time it's private and costing a fortune. This is the only shot we have at this so we are feeling the pressure for sure.

I fell pregnant last month naturally (first time ever due to PCOS) but that ended in a chemical at 5 weeks. We are opting for PGTA testing and keeping everything crossed for a euploid.

Is anyone else starting this journey?

@PearOpal did it show anything?
oh gosh how long do you have to stay on them? I’ll be celebrating the last one with you they’re rubbish!

PearOpal · 19/08/2026 22:27

Yeah I got a shadow of a positive 5dp5dt. I’d never seen one in real life before so I thought I was crazy but took a digital and it actually picked it up. I will say my cheapies didn’t have an easily visible line until like 8 days post transfer.
my doc had the pessaries as the last thing to take off so I’m on them until 10 weeks 🫠

Magix86 · 20/08/2026 10:18

Egg collection done. 19 eggs! So 3 more than our last 2 rounds. We usually have a massive drop off and end up with 2 or 3 embryos so I'm not counting my chickens just yet. Hoping most of them are mature and hoping for a good fertilisation update tomorrow.

overwork · 20/08/2026 12:44

Ah well done and one under your limit! Are you starting the joy that is progesterone this eve?

Magix86 · 20/08/2026 15:44

@overwork Yep! Starting cyclogest tonight. Fresh transfer should be Tuesday if I'm feeling well and if they agree after scanning me

Magix86 · 20/08/2026 15:44

@IndigoBluey I hope you got on well today

PearOpal · 20/08/2026 16:14

Congrats @Magix86! I love that you maxed out right at your fresh transfer limit

IndigoBluey · 20/08/2026 18:15

@Magix86 that is a great number and good news you can go ahead with fresh transfer. I had 12 collected, I hadnt really know what number to expect and had tried not to think too much about it but I feel good with the result!

overwork · 20/08/2026 19:05

oh that’s brilliant! lots of rest and fluids this eve and hopefully you’ll both be feeling right as rain tomorrow!

Magix86 · 20/08/2026 22:51

Well done @IndigoBluey that's a great result!! How are you feeling? I'm in a fair bit of pain but hopefully by tomorrow it will ease. Otherwise I'm just shattered and in need of a really good sleep!
It's been a bit chaotic here lol...we should have left for our clinic at 6.20am this morning and we both turned our alarms off. I woke up at 6.40!! But we made it literally just in time.
And then I've already forgotten my cyclogest this evening, remembered later and gone to do it and they've melted in the heat 🫠

Sheffters · 21/08/2026 07:09

Hi all

I absolutely love reading all of this! Congratulations all on your progress and results! Makes my heart warm.

A little (big) update from me. We had our last consultation meeting on Wednesday at 4pm with the donor egg team. They said that they will 'push the button' on Thursday morning to say we are now actively looking for a donor. They did say that it could be 2 weeks before the team start actively looking for us as there are lots of others on the waiting list. Well, by 1pm yesterday we had our perfect donor match and we have reserved the eggs and they are ours! I cannot believe it. We are so bloody happy right now. She's the perfect donor for us. All physical characteristics met and the message she has left for us and also any future children born from her donation is just so lovely it made me cry. We just knew after reading that she was the one.

So next steps. They will get the eggs sent the clinic which could take 2-6 weeks depending on where in the country they are. Then I wait for the next cycle and start estrogen for 12 days, then progestrone. Then the embryo updates as usual before a fresh transfer.

We are beyond excited and happy. Sending you all much love and baby luck x

Ohhh @Sheffters that’s wonderful, and so much quicker than I thought you were expecting! So do they do IVF with the donor eggs whilst you are prepping your body like you would for a frozen transfer? Well that’s a very exciting update!
@Magix86Hope you’re feeling a lot better today and don’t have to work (& @IndigoBluey). I haven’t had the predators melt yet, don’t know where I read it but I’ve seen some are putting them in the fridge, and taking one out 20 mins before so it’s not freezing when you pop it in - maybe check with the clinic this is okay but might help!
I’m doing a terrible job of distracting myself, can’t believe it’s only day 3. I know that the odds are very much it won’t have worked (after many an hour of frantic Googling!), so I’m also trying to enjoy the tiny bit of hope before I know for sure. I had cramping in my back last night so brought a hot water bottle to bed (only on my back), and I am bloody starving, but I think these are side effects from the procedure itself and the progesterone rather than anything else!

Sheffters · 21/08/2026 08:04

@overwork yes! Once they have the frozen eggs everything else in the process is the same 🤗

@Sheffters what an exciting update!! I'm so happy for you. And amazing that it's moved so quickly for you. Please do keep us updated in your next steps 🙏
Thanks @overwork yep they are all in the fridge now! I've now wasted 2 - one last night that melted and I dropped one on the floor this morning. Not the best start haha
It's so hard with the symptom spotting when it could be the progesterone too! Enjoy this moment though, there is absolutely no reason to believe it hasn't worked. You have a great graded embryo. Did the other 3 make it on day 6?

overwork · 21/08/2026 10:11

Just two in the end, slightly lower graded ones (4BB and 4BC). We’ve sent them off for PGT-A testing, so we’ll know pretty quickly if we need to do another egg collection (which would HAVE to be our last shot), for a great many reasons, not least financially!

Magix86 · 21/08/2026 10:31

@overwork Oh 2 more is excellent! Hopefully you get the results quite soon. Did you decide when you might start testing?

I've just had my update from the clinic. Out of 19 collected, 18 were mature and 13 have fertilised. They aren't checking them again now until day 5. I asked how many they thought were likely to make it and they said they always aim for 1!! Just seems crazy to expect 1 from 13 fertilised but we shall see. I don't know if they are just trying to manage expectations. It's going to be a long wait now....

overwork · 21/08/2026 10:49

Oh my goodness that’s amazing! Quite similar to your previous rounds so far I think? Aiming for one would make sense if transfers were guaranteed to work, but they’re not, are they? I’d like to think you’d get a few from that haul! So same as I did, you’ll just get a call in 5 days first thing to let you know if the fresh transfer can happen or not?

Magix86 · 21/08/2026 12:24

@overwork yeah so slightly better than our last 2 rounds so far! Round 1 we had 16 eggs, 13 mature and 11 fertilise. Round 2 we had 16 eggs, 12 mature and 8 fertilise.
I'd like to think we could aim for 3, maybe 4 embryos this time but I don't want to set myself up for disappointment.
Yes so we just get our embryo update when we arrive at the clinic in the afternoon of the transfer. They said there was a possibility they might want to freeze any good ones on the morning of day 5 before waiting for our transfer but they will see what happens on the day and call me to discuss it.

IndigoBluey · 21/08/2026 15:17

@Sheffters that is brilliant that things are progressing a lot quicker than you had thought

@overworkhappy to hear you have another two and @Magix86 that’s a really good number!

I had no idea what to expect earlier so was surprised to hear the 12 collected were mature and fertilised. So nice to have a positive call on a Friday before the weekend

overwork · 21/08/2026 15:55

Oh that is fantastic! The best you could have expected!

Magix86 · 21/08/2026 16:55

@IndigoBluey that's fantastic news! Are you going for a fresh transfer too?

IndigoBluey · 21/08/2026 20:28

So I’m on a freeze all plan so shall see what the news is over the next week… going to try and relax and do some other activities over the weekend after having a fairly low key couple of weeks on the stims. Will be thinking of you over next few days @overwork

overwork · 21/08/2026 20:29

Oh thankyou that’s a lovely thought! We will of course be willing those eggs on for you and Magic both!

overwork · 22/08/2026 10:48

Ah I’ve started with a bit of brown spotting this morning and I have period like cramps. Might be over before it started!

Magix86 · 22/08/2026 17:54

Oh @overwork I'm sorry to see this 😕 do you think it could be implantation spotting?
