Hi ladies, so, as the title reads, I start the injections tomorrow evening. I have an appointment with my clinic (Care) tomorrow morning for the baseline scan and to get the treatment plan. Meds have arrived so we are ready to go! My AMH is 8.3 with follicle count of 14.

I had my son via IVF 11 years ago and was very lucky that it worked first time and on the NHS. This time it's private and costing a fortune. This is the only shot we have at this so we are feeling the pressure for sure.

I fell pregnant last month naturally (first time ever due to PCOS) but that ended in a chemical at 5 weeks. We are opting for PGTA testing and keeping everything crossed for a euploid.

Is anyone else starting this journey?

So we've had our follow up consultation. Doctor didn't recommend HGH or any additional supplements. She did feel that as we have top quality embryos on day 3 that perhaps it could be a sperm quality issue causing the low blast rate but as we're using donor sperm there isn't really anything we can do about it!
All confirmed to go ahead this cycle. Hoping for a fresh transfer but we do have the option of freezing all again and having one final round if needed. We debated whether to go for a slightly lower dose of stims which I had for my first round (150), or stick with the dose we had for our second round (175). Basically if I have more than 20 follicles over 10mm they will likely want me to freeze all so I'm hoping that we can just get a couple less this time to avoid having to do that! And also hoping for a few more higher quality embryos to freeze alongside 🤞🏻

Glad you got a positive update @Magix86. Excited for you to start your next cycle! Fingers crossed for a fresh transfer and that things go the way you want them to.

overwork · 13/07/2026 19:47

Well you do get fantastic results with your regime! I think if you were say getting 10 each round and then 3-4 high quality blasts to freeze you’d be delighted. It’s a cruel drop in numbers but you’re hopefully getting ever closer!

Magix86 · 13/07/2026 20:47

@overwork I wouldn't complain at getting 3-4 good quality blasts at all, that would be a dream! As it stands I'm just having to hope we don't hit 20 follicles this time. It's going to make me really anxious going for the scans.

Onesaddog · 18/07/2026 20:21

Hey, how are you all doing? Got a consult next month to discuss our options for private treatment. It’s going to be expensive but hopefully worth it, we shall see. Haven’t had debrief yet so will see what they say at that and if that changes plans at all.

Sheffters · 19/07/2026 08:06

Hi, great news you have your consult soon. I am paying private and yes, it's expensive but hopefully worth it in the end for us all! My clinic works with Access I think they are called, and you can buy different packages with a payment plan. It's something we may be looking into for next time.

We have our next consultation on the 30th July and will be discussing moving to donor eggs. Just waiting for my second bleed and then we should be able to move forward.

I have been keeping up with all of your journeys and sending lots of luck and love to all! X

Nothing happening here! I have to have another nurse consultation before round 2 and that’s booked for Monday. Then hopefully I can start with my next cycle which is due end of the month but I know they don’t always come on time after IVF

Sheffters · 19/07/2026 08:08

@PearOpal have you had your transfer yet? X

Glad to hear about the consults and new options for everyone- hoping they bring clarity and comfort. Yes I had my transfer at the end of the week so I’m officially in the dreaded waiting period. Not feeling any different but I do think taking so much progesterone is catching up with me, I am exhausted!

Onesaddog · 19/07/2026 10:13

Ohh @PearOpal i am keeping everything crossed for a positive (in every way) result!

@Sheffters mine also looks to be Access, we can live on beans on toast for a bit eh! I keep wondering if any of us are at the same clinic

Best of luck for Monday!! @overwork

My consult isn’t until end of August so going to try and get a little holiday booked in beforehand and reset a bit. Take care all xx

overwork · 19/07/2026 11:51

We’re at one in London if it helps!
congratulations @PearOpal I hope you get your positive

Sheffters · 19/07/2026 11:59

Thanks all! Hoping this time flies by but I’m sure I’ll start trying to convince myself to treat far too soon. Trying to stay positive, so I remind myself that if even if this isn’t my month that just means we get to put another short Greek getaway on the calendar for some sun and lovely food

Onesaddog · 19/07/2026 15:16

Liverpool for me

Magix86 · 19/07/2026 19:48

Great you have your consultations booked in @Onesaddog @Sheffters and @overwork !! Hope they provide some clarity for you all in terms of next steps and plans.
@PearOpal so exciting you've had your transfer! Sending so much luck to you I hope it's positive for you.
I start norethisterone next week so just counting down the days really

Onesaddog · 19/07/2026 20:47

Best of luck @Magix86 x

Magix86 · 19/07/2026 21:08

Thanks @Onesaddog and enjoy your holiday! That's a fab idea to take some time away and enjoy it before you go again.

overwork · 21/07/2026 10:36

Had my nurse consultation yesterday. And got the invoice through for the drugs this morning. 5 doses of HGH are about £800 at the pharmacy they use if that info is of use to anyone. She talked a little about a fresh transfer (we’re going to go for that if the embryos look in reasonable shape but not good enough to freeze, or if we only get one, so long as my lining is clear). I’d kind of forgotten we’d discussed this option with the consultant and now I’m slightly bemused that could happen, and maybe a little excited? And doing all the calculations on due date etc which is a bit silly considering how the last round panned out!

overwork · 21/07/2026 10:38

How are you feeling @PearOpal? Have you booked your break @Onesaddog?

Magix86 · 21/07/2026 13:35

Oh that's great @overwork
Did they explain much about the HGH and how they expect it to help? 800 isn't much in the grand scheme of things when you look at all the other costs!
It's definitely OK to feel excited about the prospect of a fresh transfer!
I collected my meds today so feels a bit real again now. Do you know when you're likely to start the next cycle?

Hope you're feeling OK @PearOpal

IndigoBluey · 21/07/2026 15:53

Hi all, joining in, I am starting stims early August for round 2

PearOpal · 21/07/2026 16:32

@overwork that is exciting! I feel like even having refreshed options can feel like a fresh start. Do you have to have additional consults before you start or are you off to the races?

@Magix86 did you start your meds? If so how’re you doing?

I’m feeling generally positive. Definitely quite tired and not sleeping well (cutting back on coffee doesn’t help lol) but it’s hard to tell if that’s from anxiety and the time absolutely dragging or the medications. I’m refusing to let myself believe I’m having symptoms. I’m 4dp5dt so I’ve got a bit of wait still….

PearOpal · 21/07/2026 16:32

welcome @IndigoBluey!! happy to have you

Magix86 · 21/07/2026 16:56

@PearOpal no I start on Sunday! Just want to get on with it now.
Glad you're feeling positive! Will you test early or wait until OTD? It's so difficult trying not to symptom spot isn't it!

@IndigoBluey welcome 😊

overwork · 21/07/2026 17:36

@PearOpalno that’s it now, had a cons apt shortly after the last cycle and then a nurse apt yesterday. Ooh I’m rooting for you!
@Magix86not really, we both suggested it and she said whilst there was no definitive research that it worked, anecdotally it had good results for people like me (advanced age, eggs failing after fertilisation etc).
I know that cycles can be a bit messed up following an IVF round but if my period comes when expected, it will be towards the end of next week so I’ll be right behind you again!
Oh and I forgot to mention that the nurse said the consultant had spoke to the embryologist and they were recommending PICSI, either instead of or as well as ICSI I’m not really sure. It definitely feels like we’re making enough changes to make a second round worth a shot. I’ve been scanning my ovaries every couple of weeks too and there seems to be more follicles now than there was at my baseline scan last time, so I’m hoping all the drugs last time woke them up!
Hi @IndigoBluey
