April FET 2026

Pregnant4456 · 01/04/2026 21:24

I have just started spotting so expecting tomorrow to be CD1 of our FET round.

Doing a modified natural cycle with Letrozole and a trigger.

We will be transferring a PGT tested 4AA embryo so I am hopeful it works after our fresh transfer failed in Feb. Doing IVF due to tubal factor as both tubes removed from previous ectopic pregnancies.

Just to make the whole process more stressful we are going on holiday to Greece 6 weeks today - a bit too close for comfort to check pregnancy placement before we go away - but for the moment, we are planning to continue with our FET.

Anyone doing a FET in April too that wants to join and chat?

x

My clinic also doesn't do bloods... Test at home then a ~7 week scan.

AnonTTC · 12/05/2026 07:15

Oh yes the timings are a pain aren’t they!!!? @taytay2020 .. like you say it’s that constant need to be near a toilet and alarms going off etc. I had to leave at a different time for work today so just had to do mine 30 mins early otherwise I’d have been stood on a train!! I’ve definitely found it easier in spring then the depths of winter though.. the weekend 7am alarms were not fun over Christmas!

& yes we’re the same protocol then post positive test. I did have a think about getting some bloods done but even if they were slightly off I know it would send me into a spiral and my clinic wouldn’t take it seriously (I am NHS) and would just tell me to wait anyway so I decided against it. I’ll just hang on in there until the initial scan, hope we make it to that stage & keep everything crossed it’s all looking healthy. I keep reminding myself that the odds are in all of our favours for things to be fine vs. Not and anxiety doesn’t equal intuition!

Ivfchat · 12/05/2026 08:52

@Pregnant4456 good luck with your scan today .. hopefully all looking good & you can go on your hols tomorrow feeling good!

I have a scan today too .. sick with nerves 🫣

Pregnant4456 · 12/05/2026 09:40

I have good news. Pregnancy measuring bang on 5 weeks and 6 days and we have a heart beat. We have been cleared to fly tomorrow. Not out of the woods yet but today is a good day.

Bleeding has subsided now to light spotting. I am very happy.

Best of luck to you too @Ivfchat Let us know how you get on xx

@Pregnant4456 absolutely fantastic news!!!!

Now you can relax a little and enjoy your holiday! Take it easy .. let yourself start to relax a little 🥰

AnonTTC · 12/05/2026 10:12

Oh yay @Pregnant4456 !!! So pleased for you :) glad you can enjoy your holiday properly now.

Hope today goes well @Ivfchat I'm sure you will be fine x

Ivfchat · 12/05/2026 16:27

Thanks @Pregnant4456 @AnonTTC

All went perfect today .. both babies growing nicely on track with lovely strong little heartbeats 🥰 seems a little more real now!

AnonTTC · 12/05/2026 18:44

Oh yay I’m so glad @Ivfchat .. so what’s everyone’s due dates!? Mine is 13th January but I think you guys are quite far ahead of me. Perhaps NYE twins!!? 😆

Ivfchat · 12/05/2026 19:58

24th of December is my 40 weeks due date but I don’t think they let you go much past 37 weeks with twins so 3rd of December maybe!
No January blues for you @AnonTTC !! It’ll be your most exciting January yet! How are you feeling? I didn’t feel anything on my last pregnancy until I got sensitive nipples at 7 weeks! This time round I am struggling to keep the nausea at bay!

AnonTTC · 12/05/2026 20:17

Oh wow you’re quite a bit ahead of me then! & yes.. I didn’t even think about that with twins. Oh my gosh, isn’t it crazy you’re going to be ending the year with 3 children after starting it with 1!!? 😆 what an exciting Christmas it will be for you.

& yes - I actually think Jan due date will be nice as I can finish work at Christmas and it feels like quite a clear cut time to go off. Symptoms wise.. my boobs are VERY sore and veiny, I’m definitely more tired but nothing crazy, I get the awful gagging when brushing my teeth and I get RAVENOUS at about 10am and after work which for me is strange because I don’t really snack usually. Other than that nothing though.. the occasional cramp and the odd feeling of nausea but could be in my head! I wouldn’t mind some sickness etc though as I think it would make me feel reassured. I’m only 5 weeks tomorrow so time will tell x

taytay2020 · 13/05/2026 10:22

Congrats @Pregnant4456and enjoy your holiday!

@Ivfchat glad to hear everything is progressing nicely!

Still no symptoms here. Well maybe the odd twinge in my tummy or my back but that is probably due to the clingy 1yo I keep lugging around...

AnonTTC · 14/05/2026 15:28

Has anyone in here had any spotting in their pregnancy so far? I know you did @Pregnant4456 but sounds like you got a bit of a rationale for that with your C-Section scar and this is my first pregnancy so definitely not that.

Yesterday at around lunchtime I went to the loo and noticed the TINIEST streak of pinky coloured discharge which most normal people probably wouldn't even notice. It then subsided but I put a liner on just in case. At about 9pm, my liner had a spot on blood on, which was probably about 1cm followed by what I can only describe as a string of darker red blood in the toilet. At this point I was freaking out as those string type were what came out in buckets in my previous miscarriage so I instantly thought it was the beginning of the end. I then had some pinky type droplets when I wiped after a wee, and since then today have had a few tiny drops of very dark brown blood on a liner and the odd very light pink droplet after a wee. It seems to have subsided, as changed the liner and nothing more and I know rationally the total amount of blood/discharge was TINY but after having a miscarriage at a very similar stage earlier in the year I can't help but panic and instantly assume the worst.

Everything I Google says this can be normal and my clinic said just monitor and hopefully it should stop on it's own, but they will only bring me in if it carries on for a week or turns into much of of a miscarriage type situation. I think I am going to book an early scan for next week when I will be 6 weeks, but I am so terrified we won't even make it to that!! If we lose another pregnancy I will really start to worry there is something else wrong that we aren't yet aware of :( x

Pregnant4456 · 14/05/2026 15:53

Hey @AnonTTC I am so sorry you are going through it too! Hopefully will only stay light spotting and stop in the coming days.

Doctors says that my bleed didn’t have anything to do with where the pregnancy was - it was just a coincidence that the first scan looked like it was close to my c section scar.

From my manic googling last week it would appear that spotting and bleeding is v common in IVF and more than a spontaneous pregnancy so hopefully it is just that. Do you have any pregnancy symptoms and if so have they continued? That was what made me wonder whether my bleeding wasn’t a miscarriage but was just a bleed as my pregnancy symptoms were just as strong.

Only suggestion would be a scan as you have suggested. Alternatively, contact your EPU as they would always at least do repeat bloods and/or scan if you are bleeding in early pregnancy - even if it may take a couple of days for a scan.

Sending you lots of love! Xx

@AnonTTC I have also had brown spotting since 13dp5dt. Started off as pink and then continued once a day as brown when I wiped (I’ve noticed it seems to happen when I’m bursting for a wee or feel full of air/gas). I spoke to the clinic and they said it happens in 1 in 2 women who have a medicated FET but they offered me a early scan if I wanted it due to my history which was supposed to be yesterday. I chose not to have it because I think the spotting possibly could be due to a sensitive cervix (happened all three times I’ve been pregnant) and given it’s stopped I don’t want to aggravate it with an internal scan.

I know how horrible it is every time you go for a wee and how stomach dropping it is to see it but just remember 50% of us will go through this. If you do have cramps make sure to go to the EPU just to be on the safe side though.

Fingers crossed for you ❤️

Impatientlywaiting321 · 14/05/2026 16:13

@AnonTTC sorry i missed off that I had spotting for 10 days straight but got less and less after the first few days. The midwife said some women see it for the entire first trimester.

Im now at 6 weeks and been struggling massively the past few days with nausea and fatigue so I am trying to worry less 🤞🏽

AnonTTC · 14/05/2026 17:01

Aww thanks so much for your reassurance @Pregnant4456 @Impatientlywaiting321. I have heard it's much more common in IVF pregnancies, I assume because of the high levels of hormones + pessaries etc? Did your clinic say why it happens to 1in2?

Last pregnancy (and at other times in my life) I had a cervical ectropion, so I'm going to assume there's a high chance I have one again and like you said @Impatientlywaiting321 I actually think what triggered this was going to the toilet (sorry TMI!!). I've switched my pessaries to the 'alternative route' for now anyway to avoid extra irritation like you've said.

My pregnancy symptoms do seem to have continued yeah @Pregnant4456 - my boobs are still mega sore & huge, and my sickness when brushing my teeth is still super strong. The only one that seems to have subsided a little is being ravenously hungry at any given moment, but I guess that could come & go? I'd definitely feel better if I had some more prominent symptoms that started appearing over the next few days.

Having had a loss before, I can say for sure that the bleeding I have experienced so far is no where near so I'm confident everything is currently still 'in tact', but obviously I don't know if it could potentially be an early warning sign of more to come which I guess only time will tell? Annoyingly my clinic won't do bloods yet.. I did look at getting them done privately but all the places I could find weren't open over the weekend so getting them repeated would be tricky until early next week which feels too long away for the initial reassurance I'm after anyway.

This weekend would be the equivalent time we lost the last pregnancy which I think is also playing on my mind so I am just praying the bleeding stays at bay and we can make it to next week - one step at a time!! I think I will book a scan for this time next week when I would be 6 + 2 because I definitely think it would help to know things are progressing as they should and my NHS scan isn't until 8 weeks. I just hope it's not all a bad sign and my progesterone pessaries are keeping the bleeding at bay and just delaying things :( feels so unfair after what we go through to even get here doesn't it!? Like why can't we just have a smooth pregnancy journey after all the anxiety and worry we've already experienced!! x

taytay2020 · 15/05/2026 12:47

@AnonTTC sorry you're going through this stress! I can't offer any advice but I'm keeping everything crossed for you. Chances are in your favour that it's nothing problematic.

I'm finding my last couple of days of 2ww really annoying, knowing that on my last cycle I got a clear positive before now. I'm staying strong though! I think I've convinced myself it'll be negative cos I just don't feel pregnant, but I have been getting the occasional twinge in my back and lower abdomen - however I know these could easily be explained by either the cyclogest or lifting a heavy toddler or both! So there's a bit of hope but I'm trying to prepare myself for the worst. I've got to leave for work at 6.30am tomorrow so I've just got to get up, test, and hurry out of the house. No real time to process it, whatever it says!

Ivfchat · 15/05/2026 18:30

@taytay2020 wishing you a great BFP tomorrow! Will be thinking of you and hoping you can head off to work with good news 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Sheffters · 16/05/2026 13:26

Following this thread as I start my meds for ER next week or whenever AF appears!

So happy for you!

Ivfchat · 16/05/2026 13:46

@taytay2020 that fantastic news!!! What a way to start the day! Very exciting .. you carried on the good luck of the group.. never seen so many BFPs!

AnonTTC · 16/05/2026 15:16

Congratulations @taytay2020 - so pleased for you.

Unfortunately, things not so good my side. After initial spotting on Weds things progressed and we had the exact same scenario as last time, even on the same cycle day! Honestly can't believe it and at a bit of a loss as to what our next steps are. Obviously it's great that we have got pregnant 2/2 transfers, but to lose them both at the exact same time makes me think there is some sort of development issue we're not aware of so all I can hope is that we can find something and it's treatable before we go again. Used to think our only issue would be getting pregnant and now I'm worrying about whether we will ever even be able to carry a baby to term :(

Wishing everybody else in this thread a happy & healthy pregnancy xx

Pregnant4456 · 16/05/2026 16:53

Oh I am so sorry @AnonTTC sending you lots and lots of love.

Presumably your clinic will be able to discuss next steps. Where they PGT tested? I hope you are doing ok and your partner is giving a cuddle. Xx
