Hi! I’m starting the process of a FET in September, transferring a 4AB early October. Trying for baby number two. Anyone else? Would be great to have people to talk to amongst the symptom spotting, line eyes and general freak outs ☺️

Had my FET on the 10th October.

This was our first attempt after years of trying and waiting for referral etc. It was PGT-A tested and confirmed as Euploid.

Today is my official test date 12days post 5 day blastocyst. Ive done two early detection tests and both are negative.

We’re both in shock, the odds were in our favour so it hasnt really sunk in yet.

cakeislife1234 · 21/10/2025 07:20

Ohh @AlmostTime I’m so sorry, we’ve had the exact same. Euploid embryo after 4.5 years trying and it’s not worked

its heartbreaking, take some time to yourself and I hope you have lots of love and support surrounding you x

Piapea · 21/10/2025 08:13

@cakeislife1234 @AlmostTime
Same here ladies. Euploid embryo so I was pretty confident, didn't find the TTW that stressful at all! Silly me.
I truly hope you guys have someone taking care of you. Even when you're ready for it, it's such a shock x

SarahAndQuack · 21/10/2025 09:01

I'm so sorry, @AlmostTime. Be very gentle with yourself.

And @Piapea, it is not silly! It's absolutely natural and almost inevitable you get excited and hopeful. It's so cruel that we feel we have to belittle those feelings.

Miraclemuma03 · 21/10/2025 09:31

Im so sorry ladies for the negative tests especially with tested embryos. Please take your time to gwt through all the feels and dont dismiss them, its a hard enough journey as it is.

Hello all,

I decided to take a little break after our failed FET with our final embryo last month and had a lovely time away in Croatia although it still felt heavy. Especially as our 3 yo has randomly been asking for a brother which we're clueless where its came from and unsure he actually knows what it means...its a gut punch.
How is everyone? @SarahAndQuack I see you've had a positive - huge congrats! How are you feeling?
Hows everyone else? Really sorry to hear @AlmostTime I can only imagine. Lots of love and hope you're both looking after each other. We've been suggested to try PGT-A if we decide to go again, but I'm really unsure...

ClaireBear101 · 21/10/2025 21:44

Hi all,
Ive been here many times before after having 3 failures. This time last year was a miscarraige and in April there was actually issues with the sperm.

So here I am 4th go and just had my egg collection.

I usually get 4 eggs or there abouts and today I got 9! It was a shock but a very good shock.

Now comes the waiting around for updates. I'm impatient af.

However been here before so said I would join and also here to answer any questions for first timers etc.

Thanks
Claire

Miraclemuma03 · 22/10/2025 04:14

@ClaireBear101 wow 9 eggs from the usual 4 is really great! Hopefully some good quality embryos can be made oit of them.

Miraclemuma03 · 22/10/2025 04:18

Was back at the clinic this morning. Still couldnt find ovaries, she thinks she might have found the right one and took measurements but wasnt very clear so she is showing the doctor and waiting on my blood work to come back to inform me of next steps. Worst case I have to drive all the way back in the morning to see the doctor to do his own investigations or I trigger tonight. Maybe I should have opted for a medicated cycle.

@miraclemuma03 My fingers and toes are crossed for you that all is well amd you can trigger.

Last Friday I had a scan and it was a Doctor, she said she could only find 2 follicles (my nurse thats done my last 3 rounds called me back in sunday and said there were 4 so all good to trigger).
I have a cyst so hard to see.
The 9 eggs, I mean scans aren't always telling us everything...

Miraclemuma03 · 22/10/2025 09:29

@ClaireBear101 i got the call that im triggering tonight so everything must be all good.

It really is hard to gauge how many follicles there are and how many eggs will be retrieved until they are literally in there and collecting the eggs.

I'm so glad you got a good break. It sounds like exactly what you needed.

I relate to the gut-punch of the sibling question. DD has asked for one with grim regularity!

Are you unsure about PGT-A or about trying again in general? Please do talk if we can be useful as a sounding board.

(And thanks for asking - I'm just putting one foot in front of the other until viability scan, which is a couple of weeks.)

SarahAndQuack · 22/10/2025 09:41

Hi @ClaireBear101. Congrats on 9 eggs, yay!

@Miraclemuma03, that sounds very frustrating. Remind me, have you done medicated before? FWIW I think sometimes they just can't see well/get good access whatever you do.

Miraclemuma03 · 22/10/2025 10:02

@SarahAndQuack yes iv done one other medicated fet which was years ago now. We are trialling a modified natural cycle. Having more control over my ovulation which isnt great on its own hence the back and forth to the clinic and not finding active ovaries, i also have low reserve so not much goes on without medication. Its so frustrating because the internal scans are very uncomfortable and they have to push so hard into the sides of my cervix and turn the damn wand into awkward places and still cant get a good view. I swear the nurses sigh when they see me hahahaha but im not complaining , I really like my clinic.

StillBelieving2 · 22/10/2025 10:02

@ClaireBear101 that gives me hope after a smaller than expected collection last time! The clinic kept me on a low dose as they thought OHSS was a risk and then I'd the complete opposite response. So have asked for maximum dosage if we try again!
@SarahAndQuack glad to hear your taking it one day at a time, all we can do! We're unsure whether to try again, it's a lot more expensive than we thought. If we did the PGT testing, this round would be almost triple what we paid for the FET. Which is likely normal we'd just never paid much attention. So torn between giving it another shot, for our son and also peace of mind we tried... but putting ourselves in a bit of financial strain. Completely worth it... if it works, but our consultant tried to be very realistic last week and our hopes for success now feel a bit low.
TBH I think my OH would accept if we didnt try again although definitely would like more... but will go ahead if I say yes. If that makes sense. Which is another emotion to juggle!
Sorry, long answer to your Q @SarahAndQuack more unsure about PGT A really!

Best of luck and my fingers are crossed for you!!!
Remember I was expecting 3 or 4 and got 9 so stay positive!!

We got an update this morning. 6 have fertilising out of the 9 so all going well.

@stillbelieving2 Always stay positive! We've had 3 rounds with 5, 5 and 4 eggs and now 9. Shocked but delighted!

SarahAndQuack · 22/10/2025 13:10

@Miraclemuma03, oh, you're such a trooper - that sounds very rough. I'm glad the clinic is good. It must make all the difference to feel they're looking after you well!

@StillBelieving2 - YY, it is expensive! My clinic charges £500 per embryo. I don't know how that compares. I got sucked into it because my first round, we had a combined age of 95 and basically the clinic implied heavily that we'd be insane not to do it. This round, on my own with donor sperm, they did actually say I might consider not doing it, and also because they thought I'd likely only end up with one embryo. As it happens the only euploid was the top-graded one I'd hav transferred anyway (there is a correlation between grade and chances of euploidy, but it's quite a weak correlation). For me it was really worth it because I just know that at 40/41 a lot of them will be aneuploid. But I did find it more upsetting than I expected, and I do wish it weren't such a new technology.

Miraclemuma03 · 22/10/2025 23:53

@ClaireBear101 6 fertilised is great. Fingers xd for a good 4 by day 5.

We were quoted up to $15000 to test our embryos and we just could not afford that at the time. Its so expensive.

Limmers14 · 23/10/2025 08:15

@SarahAndQuack our clinic (Lister at the Portland) charges either £400 or £500 per embryo, I can’t remember. We got 5 tested and 4 came back as good to go. I’m luckily covered by insurance through work. I agree it’s a lot of money but I’ve been glad to have embryos that I know have gone through so much analysis and ranking so we transfer the best one.

Just a little update, started my Lubion, Cyclogest and Progynova this morning. Transfer is scheduled for Tuesday! I’m not a morning person so the 6.45 wake up is actually harder than injecting myself 😂

SarahAndQuack · 23/10/2025 09:17

That's shockingly expensive, @Miraclemuma03.

@Limmers14 - yay! It must feel really nice to be on the road. I do my lubion in the evening as I would absolutely not be awake enough first thing, let alone 6.45! That sounds painful. Hope the days to Tuesday whizz by!

Sara237 · 23/10/2025 09:55

@Limmers14 Glad to hear things are moving for you, transfer on Tue is exciting. That's amazing that your work insurance has covered the testing. What a result!
@Miraclemuma03 Wow, that's so much. We couldn't afford it either but there's just so much to pay out for constantly isn't there? I just hoped that a top rated blast would hopefully be ok. Sorry to hear your scans are so uncomfortable and am I being dense here but why can't they find your ovaries when scanning? I've not heard of this.
@ClaireBear101 Congratulations on your 9 eggs. Everything crossed for you. That's a great result.
@StillBelieving2 How are you feeling now? So hard to decide what's best sometimes or indeed if there is a best option. I think if money were no object we might have tested however as people in this thread have experienced, even a tested embryo gives no certainty of success so don't lose hope if it's too much. As you say, it's an emotional whirlwind.
I'm 6 weeks pregnant now after a donor egg transfer. After years of set backs and disappointment, I'm still in disbelief. Plus wishing I'd just cracked on with this earlier. But deep down I guess it all has to happen in its own time. I have viability scan next week which is the next source of anxiety. I thought once I'd had a positive, I'd be able to relax into it. Those of us going through this know that the relaxing into it probably only happens once they're actually here! Take care all.

Limmers14 · 23/10/2025 10:18

@SarahAndQuack ah that’s much better! I have to take Lubion twice, 12 hours apart. I‘m on Cyclogest 400mg twice daily, Lubion 25mg twice daily, Progynova 2mg twice daily. Going to a gig tonight so I’ll be injecting in the loo 😂

@Sara237 delighted for you and your positive test. Onwards and upwards! Yes I’m lucky my company have a good health insurance policy. They’re American and we’ve had the constant threat of lay-offs all year but the health insurance is making up for it somewhat

Miraclemuma03 · 23/10/2025 12:02

@Sara237 um my ovaries sit behind my uterus so no way around getting to them and if they are "quiet" (no or minimal follicles) they dont get heavy enough to move around to be seen. When i am going through a medicated cycle my right ovary usually responds so becomes heavy and moves around. When going for an egg retrieval they have better access but am always told from the doctor that he has to use a fair bit of force especially for the left ovary and iv had a couple of times where the left ovary isnt used at all. Its just positioning of the ovaries thats all.

I definitely understand the anxiety around the viability scan. There have been a few times where I have almost not made it to that scan bcos of the heartache but I keep telling myself no matter what happens il see something I worked hard at creating and carried them in my body for this said time.

StillBelieving2 · 23/10/2025 12:09

Congrats @Sara237 ! So pleased for you, fingers crossed for next week ❤️❤️

@SarahAndQuack Yes I think if money was no object we'd be more willing but when there's always the possibility of needing anither round I think we'd rather reserve the money towards that! Ours in Leeds in £350 per embryo but £2750 set up and monitoring fees... I didnt think of the upset with every result till you mention it, although its obvious mow you have! I'm also expecting low numbers and historically have had good grade embryos so perhaps it just not for us. How are you feeling?

Thank you all for words of comfort and experience. I think we're leaning away from the testing. I've also requested a hysteroscopy from my GP to see the wait times and then will go private. From there we'll decide on the next cycle but I'd also like to get some weight off!

@Limmers14 enjoy the gig, despite shooting up in the loo 🤣 @ClaireBear101 amazing result again! Well done on getting this far, i'm sure its not been an easy journey. This will be my 2nd round if we do go ahead, and I think will be our last as I dont think I could face more. I'm sure people have no idea how tough you are!
