Hi ladies,

Starting early with this thread in hope some are on a similar time frame!

36yo, been trying to conceive for 2yrs. Severe MFI as well as AFC of 3 and AMH of 1.9pmol/l

First IVF cycle with ICSI ended with a total failed fertilisation - 4 eggs collected, all mature but no fertilisation.

We have now switched to long cycle and added in DHEA, COQ10, melatonin, vitamin D, omega 3 alongside our fertility vitamins.

I should start my period end of Jan; and then start down-regulating February with transfer hopefully late February if I’ve worked it out right!

Anyone else on this mental torture of a ride?

I had my baseline scan and collected my meds yesterday after 2 weeks of down regulation. I’ve to start stims tomorrow, I was meant to be starting on Friday but all looked good yesterday to get going early! I’m back in on the 28th for a Day 10 scan.

Hello @KayEmmSquared how good is that, you start 2 days early! it's not often that something is brought forward in this process (I'm sure we all learned to do deal with delays) so it's really special. I hope you have a good experience on stims.

The TWW is already dragging for me and it's only day 3 🤣 I've decided to test out the Ovitrelle shot and keep testing, just to give myself something real to obsess over, rather than mentally go through the success probabilities on repeat. So far no surprises 😁

@Twittwoo2020 so sorry you had to go through that it's added stress to an already stressful journey, Hope you get some answers & clarity so if needs be there's preventative measures in place going forward.
Certainly take the time to rest & recover, Hopefully you'l be back to yourself completely soon x

@Happibara I had fresh ET last Wednesday and have been doing exactly the same .. although don’t know if that’s been helping or making things worse.

I have been talking to a fertility / IVF coach and found it really helpful so can recommend if anyone is really struggling. Also helpful just to chat through my current round and what questions I should ask of my clinic if this round is unsuccessful.

Stims are going fine, I’ve never had any side effects with them so I’ve been lucky there but yesterday I had a sore throat in the day and today feel really tired. I’m freaking myself out that I’m going to get ill and have to cancel the cycle but I don’t dare go ahead if I do come down with something as they said it can affect egg quality. So frustrating as I’ve had weeks of acupuncture building up to this cycle, plus it’s half term so I’m off work and for the next 2 holidays the timing won’t be right.

@Twittwoo2020 thank you for the update, I’ve been thinking of you the last few days and wondering how you were recovering.

The clinic has frozen my 'spare' embryo grade 4AA tg which is just fab 😍

Congrats on your spare @Cherryblossom90 what a great result and grade too! I’m just twiddling my thumbs waiting for Thursdays transfer here. I assume no news is good news from the clinic but I would have loved an update in the middle!

@Toryory21 No shame in that 😉 I'm a serial early tester.
I realise this is just a way for me to have an illusion of control, but it does help.
I'm also tracking my RHR and HRV as this was extremely accurate as an indication of early pregnancy for me in the past... so I anticipate that no matter the outcome, I'll be very prepared to see the result on the OTD.

Talking to a fertility coach sounds great, is that a specialist you've found yourself, or a counsellor from the clinic?

@RainbowFluff Hopefully this will not develop into a cold! Worst case just talk to the clinic team and ask for advice. Fingers crossed you'll just stay healthy though!

I had another scan yesterday and still only have three follicles on one side and nothing on the other. But they had grown a few mm (biggest one 16mm) so we're continuing stims for an extra two days at a higher dose to see if we can get them to a decent size. We'll find out tomorrow whether it's egg collection or IUI on Friday. Next cycle they've suggested switching from Ovaleap to Menopur to see if I get a better response. I'm just so confused as my baseline scans before treatment last summer showed at least 8-10 follicles on each side and I thought my AMH was ok for 38yo at 10.9. Does ovarian reserve suddenly drop off a cliff in your late 30s or is it a gradual decline?

@Happibara - just someone I found.. I used them prior to going down the ivf route actually. Definitely got me out of a dark hole when TTC naturally!!

@BeSharpPinkDreamer that does seem quite a big fall. I think it can vary a bit from month to month though.

Did you do a full down reg first?

Hope that you will respond better to the menopur.

@BeSharpPinkDreamer i think they don’t all grow each cycle, I had 17 in October for my pre-ET scan but then in November when I had a cycle only 7 grew to any significant size. They can’t have dropped off that quickly so I assume the others are still there but just dormant.

First scan today didn’t go well, I have one massively dominant follicle (or potentially a cyst). Scan on Friday will confirm whether this cycle is cancelled. So frustrating, seems all
my acupuncture and supplements haven’t helped at all.
