Hi ladies,

Starting early with this thread in hope some are on a similar time frame!

36yo, been trying to conceive for 2yrs. Severe MFI as well as AFC of 3 and AMH of 1.9pmol/l

First IVF cycle with ICSI ended with a total failed fertilisation - 4 eggs collected, all mature but no fertilisation.

We have now switched to long cycle and added in DHEA, COQ10, melatonin, vitamin D, omega 3 alongside our fertility vitamins.

I should start my period end of Jan; and then start down-regulating February with transfer hopefully late February if I’ve worked it out right!

Anyone else on this mental torture of a ride?

@spttc i have been doing it since start of January. No effect on egg quality for my February cycle but it was only 6 weeks whereas you’re supposed to do it for at least 3 months. I did get more eggs in my cycle and also more were mature, but it’s hard to say if acupuncture was the cause.

@captainsmal I hope all went ok 🤞

@spttc hi! Sorry been mostly over on March board now.
we had 8 eggs
6 mature
5 fertilised … 1 blastocyst 😞
so I had that transferred yesterday, it was an untested expanding blastocyst grade 2.2 so now I’m in the 2ww. My otd is Mother’s Day 🙄🙃
feeling pretty deflated tbh, as this is now our only chance. If it doesn’t work I’ll have to reapply for nhs funding and go through the entire thing again. So I’m trying to stay positive but I’ve now started mentally preparing myself for the worst tbh. I know it only takes one and people do have success with first transfer but I dunno after 10 years ttc it just feels like it’s never going to happen. I realise that these moods could be the drugs again though.

Fingers crossed for you. It’s such a journey. I’ve been fairly stoic about it so far, but I just had my third failed attempt. BFN an hour ago. And I did have a little cry. Ex and I were together eight years, and trying for just over a year and then he decided he didn’t want kids, so now he’s taken all my youth for free I’ve decided to go it alone. It’s so disheartening and I’ve stopped telling people I’m doing it. I had 8 embryos but have now used all the 5Aa 4AA and 4AB ones so losing faith in my ability to get pregnant. First two were natural cycles but this one was long down regulation and it still didn’t take. I’ve spent £10k on this process plus donor sperm and I don’t know what to do. I feel like I’m at a crossroads - I’ve always wanted kids and I feel like it’s been taken away from me and I don’t even have him to support me anymore. Shout out to everyone who does this alone - it’s amazing! I really hope your journey ends positively.

Hi - what is coq10? I’m wondering about doing long down regulation for another egg collection… I’ve been lucky with egg quality and fertilised eggs but none of the embryos / blastocysts have taken and the remaining are not as good quality. It’s starting to take its toll. I wish surrogacy was a more viable option in the UK!

Hi @MiaCat86this thread is a bit old and I think most people have moved onto later month threads but just wanted to say hello. Coq-10/ubiquinol is a supplement for egg quality but if you are making lots of 5aa/4aa embryos then maybe that’s not your issue. How many failed transfers have you had? I would suggest considering getting PGTA testing done on any remaining embryos and maybe looking at EMMA/ERA/Alice testing as implantation seems to be your issue not embryo quality.

Oh yes good point 😂 thanks lovely. I’ve had three failed in six months… definitely want to know more as they haven’t really done any tests. Which is annoying as I’m paying for it! Will try to find a newer thread… getting them screened for abnormalities might be a good idea though to save time. X
