@spamOFtheDAY yeh I did. My embryos developed a bit further over the morning and could be graded - a 2bb and a something cc. Not great but we transferred them both. They also mentioned there's at least one more that's likely to turn into a blast tomorrow so they'll give me a call. At least a BB is not terrible even if it's an early blastocyst.

DH was quite against transferring two, but the CC would have been discarded so clinic strongly recommended we transfer both.

Now for the (somewhat apprehensive) wait...

@Magix86 congrats on yours!

PrincessofLiechtenstein · 09/12/2024 19:52

@ivfjourneyandme 😂

Last time I had a scan like that the doctor got called away to help with an emergency and I was left legs akimbo for 20mins. It was very nearly a disaster!

I also forgot to say my EC is at 10am tomorrow, have to report at 9!

ivfjourneyandme · 09/12/2024 19:59

@PrincessofLiechtenstein oooo exciting!!! Best of luck lovely

I’m praying follicles grow and can move onto EC (as scared as I am) Day 12 stims and my stomach is so sore, red, bruised and bloated

Ah congrats - that sounds great 😊

I had a double on my last round too - it's a scary prospect 😛

I hope your TWW goes ok and have lots planned to distract you. One good thing about IVF at Christmas I suppose is that there's always something going on to take your mind off it!!

Awwww
Not long to go for you now lovely
Please do not worry about egg collection
It's the easiest part. The internal scans are more of a pain than egg collection.
Thank god for sedation!!!

ClaudiaRaz · 09/12/2024 21:20

Hi @SamVan @tpeas - how are you both getting on in the 2WW?

Confusedddddddd · 09/12/2024 21:29

thanks!

@ivfjourneyandme I'm feeling quite OK, strangely feeling like I'm going to miss the staff at the clinic, they've all been so lovely despite how much of that has been spent probing my vagina. Oh well if this doesn't work I'll be back.
Been feeling a little crampy since the transfer, and I guess like everyone here stressed about whether it'll work or not.

@spamoftheday I was a serial early tester when TTC before IVF, so I'll likely be testing early! Luckily my official blood test is before Xmas so at least if it's a BFN I can drink :)

tpeas · 09/12/2024 21:36

Thanks for asking @ClaudiaRaz . I'd just posted on another chat but I'm totally losing track of which thread is which 😅
So I think things have mostly been ok except I've had a bad flare up of IBS pain (fairly sure that's what it is) which has kept me mostly lying down the last couple of days, so I really hope that goes soon and doesn't negatively impact my chances. How are you holding up in the 2WW? I was feeling fairly chill for the first few days but now I just want to know and next week can't come soon enough!

Oh I'm the same - I tested out my trigger last time and then continued to test after!
But this time I'm hoping to wait until after my DCs birthday as don't want to ruin it with that in my head 😕 but we'll see....

Yeah! and at least there can be a bottle of Xmas champagne in the fridge to take the edge off!!!!

SamVan · 10/12/2024 03:45

@ClaudiaRaz I’m getting on well! I’m on holiday with only 4 tests total (one early test) which I’m really regretting. There’s no way to get more tests now as I’m on an island with no shops. I took the early test this morning though and had a vvvvvvvvv faint positive. I hope it’s not too light for this stage. So I’m cautiously optimistic and hoping it doesn’t end in a chemical like the last one. How have you been? Have you held out on testing so far?

It's so hard to not symtom spot at this stage!! Are you on a fully medicated cycle? Mine is super medicated so it could just be all the progesterone... but I was on it for about a week before my transfer. I have extreme thirst and by extreme i mean I cannot quench it??? So strange. Also I've had some low level cramping since day 2.
I'm so anxious about testing - when is your actual test date? Hope you feel better soon! IBS pain doesn't sound fun at all!

Oh wow!! That's great news and that you've got a faint positive so early on. I'm so scared to test early. 😫 was there anything happening that made you test early?
Was saying to @tpeas above, I'm fully medicated so I don't know if I would even have any symptoms, but I've had cramping and extreme thirst / frequent urination for a few days now.
At least you're sort of relaxing on holiday i hope!!

SamVan · 10/12/2024 08:20

@ClaudiaRaz thank you! I’m hoping for th best but I think the trauma of the chemical from last time makes me just not want to get my hopes up. Chemicals are just so common esp when we test early unfortunately. I tested early mostly cause I wanted to eat sushi 😂 but also because of frequent urination. I peed 3 times in two hours last night which was my main sign last round. I also had some little twinges. I don’t think a fully medicated cycle should prevent you from having symptoms though - the symptoms are a response to hcg which you’ll still produce!

@tpeas sorry to hear about the ibs pain! I used to get bad ibs so know full well what that is like! My understanding is the bowels system is completely separate so it should be fine. I always get weird bowels on progesterone too. It definitely sets it off!

ClaudiaRaz · 10/12/2024 09:48

@SamVan I totally get the trauma. That's why I'm so anxious. With mine last time I did two tests, a CB digital and a FRER. All I saw when I went to check was the 'Not Pregnant' on the CB and I completely lost it. Went to look at them again a bit later and noticed the FRER had a faint positive. That's the first ever positive test I've seen in my life... but not enough HCG for it to progress.
My official test day is Saturday, but I might do one on Friday. I've taken the day off as a bit of a self care day. I also have a blood test tomorrow morning, as my clinic wanted to check up on my progesterone levels this time.

PrincessofLiechtenstein · 10/12/2024 10:41

@ivfjourneyandme ouch that does look sore! When is your next scan? Hopefully you'll get good news soon

I'm just out of egg collection and waiting to be allowed out of the ward. They got 13 eggs which I am pretty happy with. 🤞🤞🤞 some of them make it!

Procedure was absolutely fine, don't remember a thing and I'm enjoying the slightly drunk feeling- it's been a while 😂

It looks like I might be back on for a fresh transfer on Sunday, just waiting for the consultant to confirm.

Keeping fingers crossed for you @SamVan hope you are having a great holiday as well.

Good luck @ClaudiaRaz @tpeas and well done for holding out with testing. It's definitely the worst bit!

ivfjourneyandme · 10/12/2024 10:45

@PrincessofLiechtenstein well done!! 🥳 glad you’re feeling good!

Next scan tomorrow morning 🤞🏻

NouvelleNovice · 10/12/2024 11:37

@ivfjourneyandme your poor tummy! I mixed it up with thighs as well because I couldn't tell if my belly was sore from the inside or from all the injections! EC went okay for me, much like @PrincessofLiechtenstein the sedation did it's job and I don't remember a thing, felt out of it for a day or two after.

@ClaudiaRaz well done for holding out, I deliberately h@ave no tests in the house because I have no will power to wait but totally understand the risk of getting hopes up, all the hope and best wishes for this time!

@SamVan I hope you have an amazing holiday and that test just keeps getting brighter!

@tpeas hope you feel better soon, my guts have been all over the place too with drugs etc. so hard not to read too much into symptoms or worry, good luck!

I had so much cramping etc before EC now feel nothing at all, pretty much normal, which makes me paranoid it hasn't worked. Trying to take your advice @PrincessofLiechtenstein and do some jobs around the house but my clinic gave written advice that basically says no exercise until the outcome of the cycle is known, getting out and exercising is usually my therapy so really struggling, but doing lots of walks which I guess is okay.

spamOFtheDAY · 10/12/2024 11:46

Transfer day today!

I was pretty disappointed (in fact, sat and cried alone in the cubicle) when I was told that, of the 8 fertilised, we had 1 good enough to transfer today and they'll "check the rest tomorrow" - that's all I know 🤷‍♀️

Was a pretty clinical and unpleasant procedure, which resulted in more crying 😭

Trying to not let the clinic get me down and stay warm and positive now.

Transferred a 3AA which im pleased with. I guess I just really hoped for some more to freeze 😕

OrientalPinkLily · 10/12/2024 11:51

Hi all,
Lots of messages, I was asleep most of yesterday after EC. My clinic has a different approach, I wasn't under strong anaesthetic, it was only light and I do remember everything but I was super sleepy afterwards.

They called me this morning. Out of 11 eggs, 8 were mature. Those 8 had the ICSI and 5 fertilised (1 fertilised abnormally and 2 didn't fertilised at all).
I will receive another call Froday morning to see how embryos are doing and my appointment for transfer is Friday 2pm.
Well done to everyone going through their ECs! Great numbers @PrincessofLiechtenstein @Harshtruth1111.
Good luck with those who had their transfers!!! @Confusedddddddd @Magix86
@ivfjourneyandme triple layered endometrium is good! That's what you need!

Love to everyone!

SamVan · 10/12/2024 11:53

@ClaudiaRaz you’ll get very clear results by Friday! Good on you for waiting :) I think it’s an absolutely lovely idea to have a self care day. We need more of that! My last round I tested positive on day 6 (vvf) then dark on day 8, but day 9, 10, 11 the tests looked slightly lighter. My nhs clinic did a blood test on day 11 and said it was a clear positive and wanted me to continue on meds and book in a 6 week scan and I argued for a second blood test which then confirmed the levels were dropping. I don’t think I’ll feel safe until my 6 week scan this time.

@PrincessofLiechtenstein thank you!! 13 is great! I had 13 this time too! Hope you recover well this week and get to do a fresh transfer.

@NouvelleNovice I find the no exercise thing hard too! My clinic said normal (not too intense) exercise is fine but I’m really taking it easy just in case! Walking is the safest I reckon, and actively encouraged.

@spamOFtheDAY just replied to you on another thread. I'm so sorry to hear about your day, sounds like it was a difficult one for you. I share the sadness about the drop in numbers although you're definitely right about staying positive. Having a 3AA transferred is great 💕 do keep us updated

Love to everyone!

I didn't realise how sensitive my abdomen was going to be today. Also my boobs are so sensitive too. Even driving over a speed bump at very low speed is causing them pain.

Embryologist called today.
Out of the 20 eggs collected, 14 were mature. And icsi was done on 12. Hoping they all mature well. Waiting game now.

I am absolutely dreading the egg transfer. I suffered from vaginismus for years so very sensitive down there. I was fine with the internal scan but so nervous about the egg transfer.

I actually remember waking up half way through the procedure and being in pain. I was in theatre for an hour and 15 minutes as they had to go through my cervix due to where the ovary was located.

My smear test was awful. I had to stop myself from screaming and crying but did use the larger dilators beforehand to make it more elastic down there.

Anyone else suffer from vaginismus??

Good luck to all.
And one good egg is great news!!!!

Best of luck to everyone for the rest of the week.

PrincessofLiechtenstein · 10/12/2024 12:24

Hope you are doing ok @spamOFtheDAY it's really difficult isn't it, and definitely harder when it's all just in a days work for the clinic staff when you are having a hard time. A 3AA is a promising result though. I hope it takes and that the others continue to develop. Is it 5 days after your EC?

Glad you are doing ok @OrientalPinkLily Good news about your 5 and hope they develop well.

@Harshtruth1111 that's a good rate of mature eggs. Hope the waiting isn't too painful! I've no experience with vaginismus but I do have a high and tilted cervix so I always find smear tests involve quite a lot of rooting around and can be really painful! Hoping that won't be the case this week. Can you ask for something to relax you before the transfer?

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone ❤️
