Aah exciting @Magix86!

We're going in too. However we only have 2 that haven't quite made blastocyst sadly. We're transferring both anyway and will just have to keep our fingers and toes crossed

Magix86 · 09/12/2024 11:14

@Confusedddddddd keeping everything crossed for your two!! We have no idea on our numbers until we get there so it will be an anxious drive

ivfjourneyandme · 09/12/2024 11:24

Good luck both @Magix86 and @Confusedddddddd have everything crossed for you ❤️❤️ 🌟

Cosyseason1234 · 09/12/2024 11:31

Good luck @Magix86 @Confusedddddddd ❤️

OrientalPinkLily · 09/12/2024 12:01

Good luck with your transfers today @Confusedddddddd and @Magix86!!!!!!

@ivfjourneyandme i really hope you will get good news today!

I just finished my EC, 11 eggs collected. I found the procedure OK, I didn't struggle with anything and the team was great with keeping me very well informed which helps.
Tomorrow they'll tell how many werr mature and how many of them fertilised. The waiting game starts now.

Good luck to all of us! ❤️

ivfjourneyandme · 09/12/2024 12:04

@OrientalPinkLily well done on an amazing number from EC ❤️❤️

Consultant has said carry on and recheck Wednesday. I’m so confused by results. 5 days ago I had 5 follicles -
9.3 (Left)
8.8 (left)
8.7 (right)
6.3 (right)
5.1 (right)

Today have 10 but where have the other bigger one gone on left?
17.9 (Left)
5.7 (left)
5.1 (ledt)
12 (right)
12 (right)
9.2 (right)
5.3 (right)
4.7 (right)
4.6 (right)
4.4 (right)

Help?!

PrincessofLiechtenstein · 09/12/2024 14:06

That's confusing @ivfjourneyandme

I think I also had a follicle that disappeared and reappeared on my next scan. I do wonder if it just depends a bit on who is scanning you and the angles they can find? I would ask them when they call you though.

It does seem like they are responding now though. Maybe you should ask your doctor if a double stim cycle would be suitable for you?

ivfjourneyandme · 09/12/2024 14:11

@PrincessofLiechtenstein very confusing and a constant worry!

my previous 2 scan reports said homogenous endometrium but today says triple layer. Any ideas?

Harshtruth1111 · 09/12/2024 15:10

Had egg collection today
20 eggs retrieved
Lots of eggs but hoping they are of good quality
Keeping an eye out for ohss...as high risk.
Hope everyone is ok and egg collections went well.

For those undergoing egg collection, I'll share my story of today's event

Went in at 8am. They're were two other couples there too. All ladies got called into the ward at 8am.
All three of us were sat next to each other but divided by a curtain.
Was told to change into hospital gown. Underwire bra had to be removed.
Was allowed to wear slippers and bathrobe (was warm but needed).
Seen first by anesthetiogolist who informed will be giving three different drugs as sedatives and asked about allergies etc.
Next seen by gynaecologist who informed what the procedure entailed and medical history etc. Informed that they would be inserting two suppositories rectally (first is antibiotics and second is voltarol painkillers suppository).
Was told to take food and drink out for when we came back.

Waited about an hour as I was second in line for theatre.
Informed to empty bladder two minutes before entering theatre.
In theatre, greeted by 7 staff members (student was there too)
Canulla for pain relief placed in hand. And that is all I remember. I don't even remember putting my legs up. I remember waking up and the anaesthetist telling me I was asleep throughout and the lady before me was chatting the whole way through.
Went back to bay. BP machine, pulse oximeter and told to drink water.
An hour later after passing urine was able to leave.

Was given a prescription of clexane injections for seven days.

For all those who are nervous, don't be. You won't remember a thing.

Best of luck all.

ivfjourneyandme · 09/12/2024 15:39

@Harshtruth1111 well done lovely! Thank you for your EC experience. If I make it that far, it’s the thing I’m most petrified about

Magix86 · 09/12/2024 15:57

Well done @Harshtruth1111 20 eggs is amazing!
@ivfjourneyandme I'm not sure if this helps as I don't know much but the lady that did my scans said they want a 3 layer endometrium so sounds like it's good news if that's your latest scan.

We've had our transfer. Disappointed with our numbers as we had 11 on day 2 with 8 of 'top grade'. Today we only had 2 - one 4AA which they put back. And one 3AB which they have frozen. They said they will give the others another day to see if they catch up although I can't help feeling really down about how many we've lost. I know I should be so grateful to have got this far but can't help feeling upset by the numbers.

PrincessofLiechtenstein · 09/12/2024 16:35

@ivfjourneyandme I think this is a good sign, the lining is thickening ready for implantation.

Thanks for sharing @Harshtruth1111 it's really helpful to know how you've found it. Do you know when you'll find out the results?

@Magix86 really sorry that it's been a disappointing day. This process really is brutal and there are so many points where the numbers just drop. A 4AA to implant and another to freeze sounds really positive though. Really hoping that it works for you this time.

How did you find the transfer procedure? Hope it wasn't too painful? I'm more worried about that than the EC as I know I'll be asleep for that bit!

ivfjourneyandme · 09/12/2024 16:42

@PrincessofLiechtenstein when is your EC?

@Magix86 you can still feel down about it whilst being grateful. Be kind to yourself. I have suffered mental breakdowns and anxiety in the past and hands down, this journey is more daunting. I think it’s where it just seems to be down to luck. I hope your little embryo is settling in nicely and you can share exciting news with us after the wait xx

Magix86 · 09/12/2024 16:49

@PrincessofLiechtenstein thank you. I really appreciate that. What will be will be I guess! To reassure you - no pain at all from the transfer. It took no more than 10 mins. They printed out a little scan photo for us afterwards which was sweet 🥰 honestly the worst part of today was having a full bladder and worrying i wouldn't make it through the procedure 🤣 you'll be fine

@ivfjourneyandme thank you so much for this. The support on here is so lovely. IVF is absolute torture isn't it!

ivfjourneyandme · 09/12/2024 16:52

@Magix86 Awww, I’m so glad you got a little photo. Just think, whatever happens, right now you have the start of a life inside you ❤️❤️❤️

spamOFtheDAY · 09/12/2024 17:13

Confusedddddddd · 06/12/2024 23:47

@spamOFtheDAY EC was weds, and should be doing fresh transfer Monday if all is well.
Yeh 1st round. I have a DC already naturally conceived but then had an accidental ectopic 18m ago (we were planning on trying for another in the near future so started TTC immediately after) and nothing since. My one remaining tube is on the side I have an ovary covered in cysts.

Did you have your transfer today?
Hope it all went well and you're getting pampered ❤️

Hey
I get my results tomorrow regarding how many eggs were successful

Just remember everyone....more eggs doesn't necessarily mean better results. More eggs esp above 20+ is concerning as the quality does not seem to be great.
So please don't won't if only a few eggs were of good quality.
My sister had 11 eggs of which 3 were successful and now has a wonderful 7 year old daughter from one of them.

Look after yourselves. Eat healthy. Avoid processed foods. Increase fluids. Avoid vigorous exercise. And make sure you are taking your folic acid.

NouvelleNovice · 09/12/2024 18:02

Hi Everyone,

Sorry for being late to the party but it has been so helpful for me reading through this thread. I am 34, first cycle of ICSI (MF + low AMH) after 2+ years of trying. Had EC last Monday and fresh ET on Saturday.

I have taken time of work thinking it would make me less stressed as I have a very physical job but now I have no distraction from the waiting and wondering!! So much solidarity with you all on your own waiting games and hoping for the best for everyone.

Any distraction tips welcome (googling most-sensitive early pregnancy tests is not that fun any more).

ivfjourneyandme · 09/12/2024 18:07

@NouvelleNovice welcome. How did everything go?

PrincessofLiechtenstein · 09/12/2024 19:35

Sorry @Harshtruth1111, reread your post and realised you said they got 20, I really hope you get a good fertilisation rate.

It's interesting the different approaches. In the US they seem to be more aggressive with the stims and I see problem getting 30-40 eggs which seems crazy. Before we were approved for NHS we also went to a talk with Create who do natural ivf and they were really pushing the idea that one or two "natural" eggs can give the same results as 15 stimmed eggs, although that's their model so they would say that! It does seem like it might work better for older women though.

@Magix86 I am quite worried I'm going to pee on the doctor 😂 the scan picture is very sweet.

Welcome @NouvelleNovice how did your EC go? I know it's really difficult to think about anything else isn't it! My best distraction is generally cracking on with physical a job. Do your kitchen cupboards need rearranging? Wardrobe sort out for charity shop? Christmas shopping/wrapping etc?

ivfjourneyandme · 09/12/2024 19:49

@Magix86 @PrincessofLiechtenstein - I’m worrying I’ll feel the urge to wee on them as well!

Had such a need to cough during internal scan today but darent incase I pushed the scanner out 😂😂😂
