IVF/ICSI/FET December 2024

Any peeps having IVF/ICSI/FET in Dec.
I am due to start meds 1st Dec this will be my frozen transfer from my 2nd cycle in August have stocked up on beetroot and pomegranate juice, looking for any tips 🙏🏼

@spamOFtheDAY ah I hope you are ok, sounds like a difficult day 😞 I know the feeling as I had a rollercoaster with the embryos after egg collection, first update was good, then a shock on day 5 when the update was that none might make it, then day 6 one had miraculously made it to blastocyst and they said 2 more would be left one more day. By day 7, they said the final 2 weren’t going to make it. By that point I was so on edge I was just happy to have one 🤪 but I remember still being upset there were no spares again , so I feel your pain x

Thank you @NouvelleNovice ! I have tests in the house but i've got to be in the office tomorrow and Thursday (super busy with meetings) and if it's not a positive I don't think I'll be able to work / concentrate etc. Hence taking Friday off and just being able to relax on that front!! Although I'm still terrified 😨.

@SamVan aaahhh can't believe you had to fight for that! My hcg blood test was only 15 when they tested and then went down to 7, 48 hours later. 100% know what you mean... I'm not going to feel comfortable for a very very long time if it's a positive result. Have you had any other symptoms?

Hi everyone, hope you don't mind if I jump on board! I will be doing my FET on Fri (13th, eek) at 3pm. I've been downregulating since mid/end of October ...so sick of the medications now at this point. Had a successful FET nearly 2 yrs ago who is now my bouncing boy. Very best wishes to everyone xx

@ClaudiaRaz hmm, I feel warm and sweaty (I usually feel colder and sweat way less than my husband but last night I had to leave the restaurant to return to my room due to the heat. I do tend to feel warm during my luteal phase though so it might be unrelated to pregnancy. Are you experiencing any symptoms yet? You’ve got a really good chance with a euploid. Mines mosaic so I’m worried about a potentially higher miscarriage rate. Also it’s the size of a poppy seed right now.. that’s so small. Seems impossible that it will grow. I am trying to relax and just enjoy it though. Best of luck for your test on Friday!

Left: 21.1, 8.1 and 5.4
Right: 4.6, 7.6, 7.7, 8.2, 14.1, 15.7 and 20.8

Nurse reckons Friday for egg collection. They’ve grown so much in last 2 days!

@SamVan just this dry mouth and a thirst I cannot get rid of. Drinking so much and going to the bathroom all the time. I wake up thirsty in the night. I've also had low level cramping on and off.
Just had my blood test this morning to check estrogen and progesterone levels... hopefully still looking good! Will find out later today.

I'm good thanks, just spoke to the embryologist, out of 13 9 were mature and 7 have fertilised normally. We will get our next update on Friday. They have also confirmed it will be a freeze all cycle which I think I have come to terms with now, at least I can chill out a bit over Christmas. I might even treat myself to a G&T tonight- it's been months!

@ClaudiaRaz that all sounds promising! I had that symptom last round. It’s so hard not to worry and symptom spot. Today I feel nothing. Can’t wait for the official test on Saturday.

Had confirmation - egg collection Friday at 9am. Taking my last ovulation blocker tonight and the trigger at 9pm. Hope my smaller follicles catch up so have more than 2!

To say I’m petrified is an understatement!!

A freeze all cycle has better outcome for pregnancy as you body gets a chance to recover.

@ivfjourneyandme yayyyy so pleased for you,you got this! Try not to worry about EC,remember the 98% that feel nothing! Mine was absolutely fine and I was sooo anxious about it.

Thanks @Harshtruth1111 I did look at some of those stats and it made me feel a bit better. I do think they are trying to maximise my chances as I only get one NHS round.

When they said I might be back on for a fresh transfer I was actually a bit disappointed which considering I was in floods of tears about switching to FET last week shows how fickle my feelings have been this week! 😂

Try not to worry too much @ivfjourneyandme. It was really like a dream and all over in a flash. I went from chatting to the anaesthetist about Arsenal to waking up with a hot chocolate and a biscuit in no time at all.

Will the follicles continue to grow despite having no stims tonight or Thursday?

Yes they still keep growing 2mm a day I think. The trigger helps them mature

Tomorrow is scan day for me to see how my lining is and when transfer could be and start meds. I'm on modified natural so I think it's just progesterone but I'm not 100% as I can't remember from last time

Excited and nervous to know this time tomorrow I will sort of have an idea of a plan and dates perhaps

Hi all sorry been a bit quiet again. Fortunately today have been feeling much better but Mon-Tues were horrendous from my IBS and lack of sleep (because of the pain). I ended up calling the clinic and they said it was ok to take my usual medication for it and touch wood, I've not been in pain today, but my stomach is definitely more swollen and bloated than usual. My OTD is on Monday morning, I'm planning to work as usual but depending on how I feel after whatever news we get I'll have to see what happens. I feel very 50/50, it could go either way. Good luck for your official tests @SamVan and @ClaudiaRaz and wishing you all luck whichever phase you're at. It would be lovely to have some pre-christmas good news!
