IVF/ICSI/FET December 2024

Any peeps having IVF/ICSI/FET in Dec.
I am due to start meds 1st Dec this will be my frozen transfer from my 2nd cycle in August have stocked up on beetroot and pomegranate juice, looking for any tips 🙏🏼

@camelinastorm yes they’ve frozen this batch. He’ll provide a fresh sample on EC day as well. They were worried they wouldn’t get any/enough viable fresh which is why we have a frozen back up but so far seems he’s produced more than expected!

Hi @tpeas - transfer buddy here. My second FET is booked in for this weds! Anyone else transferring next week?

I'm on period watch, nothing as of yet but hoping for an earlier start to give me a better chance of getting transfer in this month

Hello @ClaudiaRaz ! Best of luck for your transfer. Do you know much about your embryo(s)? Mine is a fresh and the clinic haven't provided an update since the first day (Thurs), so I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that things have gone ok with ours since 🤞

AF has showed up tonight so officially into FET cycle, will call clinic in the morning and see where we go from here but I think it puts me in much better position to ensure a transfer this month and not missing the cut off (22nd Dec). Cycles have been 32 days recently but this one is 28 day so thankfully shortened for this month.

Very nervous and excited!

Yes mine were all genetically tested, but I don't know which one they're going to use.
Are you on a medicated cycle?

Thank you, it should be all being well, I'm still a bit nervous as I've not had any update but at least I'll know in a few hours now! Yes, I had downreg then stims. Will update tomorrow ☺️

Had my 4th stims injection last night And scan this morning. 6 follicles in all which is great for me considering they were expecting 3 based on last months scan! 5 small and one leading the way already. Think they’re considering increasing the dose. So nervous!

I called clinic this morning so booked in for scan on 12th Dec for day 12. I thought it was usually day 10 they took in but will go with it.

I think I'm basically cutting it really fine for this month but fingers crossed. Away to look up every old wives tale possible for getting nice thick lining and earlier ovulation

Just had my final scan before EC weds. 8 good sized follicles and 3 that are borderline that might catch up. For some reason I was hoping for more as I kept being told I was responding really well. I guess we'll see what happens on retrieval day.

Hope it’s ok to join at this late stage! Just looking for any hope or similar experiences.
I’m on my second ICSI cycle (first one of a 3-cycle package with PGTA testing and transfer at end, if lucky). Had long protocol this time after short protocol for first round (NHS funded). Also stopped taking DHEA at doctors advice a couple months ago.
I ended up getting 7 eggs, 6 of which were mature. 3 fertilised but got the Day 5 call today to say that only one is an ‘early blastocyst’ and isn’t ready for biopsy. They are going to leave it another day but it may not develop further, then there’s a risk we have nothing to show from this cycle (which has been way harder than the previous protocol). So gutted and struggling to pick myself up for the planned next 2 cycles as feeling like there might be no point?! x

It’s such a rollercoaster isn’t it? I thought I’d feel better knowing I had more than 3 but now I’m just paranoid none of them will grow!

@Confusedddddddd we're on the same timing - my egg collection has been moved a day early as I think I'm responding better to stims than they thought.
Had my final ovaleap last night so 9 days total stims. Had my final fyremadel this morning and I trigger at 9pm tonight!
Last scan on Saturday showed a few more follicles so 18 total now (Baseline scan was AFC of 8 so a little confused). 12 were of a good size, over 11mm. Biggest one was 19mm so I am worried it's going to get too big and over mature over another 4 days of growth. But we will see. Excited and anxious for Wednesday.

@Confusedddddddd mine seemed to really catch up in the last few days and ended up with 12 mature eggs it's strange one day they can look small and 2 days later they are all bulging

I'm now on 4 estrogen per day it's hard remembering to take them spread out

With my 6 follicles seen today, is there any chance new follicles may develop? Or is that unlikely?

@ivfjourneyandme not sure if it helps, but I only had 2 large follicles on my last scan before egg collection (6 small ones they didn’t think would create eggs) and ended up with 7 eggs. Last time, they said I only had 3 large follicles and I ended up with 8 eggs. So sometimes you get more eggs than it seems based on the follicles!

Hi all, have just had a fresh transfer! There were no other good embryos so nothing to freeze so just keeping everything crossed for this one now.... No pressure 😅 I really hope your blast works out @LimeBird , keeping everything crossed for you

Just had afternoon update after scan this morning - increasing from 300iu ovaleap to 450iu from tonight (scared about that!) and also starting ovamex (to supress ovulation) from tomorrow. So nervous! Next scan isn’t until Friday now which has thrown me as seems a long time to wait…?

That's amazing @Magix86! I'm a bit disappointed that I didn't get more despite being on max dose of stims, but maybe the ones that are borderline will catch up.

How are you feeling about egg collection? I'm really nervous about mine as I have a bit of a fear of anastesia, just want it over and done with now.
