IVF/ICSI/FET December 2024

Any peeps having IVF/ICSI/FET in Dec.
I am due to start meds 1st Dec this will be my frozen transfer from my 2nd cycle in August have stocked up on beetroot and pomegranate juice, looking for any tips 🙏🏼

I wish I could reassure you but I didn’t get a copy of any of my follicle growth.
We are private too,if I was in your position I would call/message them tomorrow and ask for an honest opinion? They are the experts and will have years of experience. You have a lot of anxiety around the growth and are literally paying for their time. Don’t go into the weekend without some reassurance/clarificafion ❤️ I feel like if they thought that there wasnt a good chance they would have cancelled already? @ivfjourneyandme

@Cosyseason1234 - I never knew IVF would be this HARD mentally. Each day seems like a new worry. I’ll definitely email them. I have to pop in tomorrow to collect more stims too

@ivfjourneyandme me neither 🤦🏻‍♀️ I am definitely going to utilise the counselling sessions when I am post transfer. It’s literally a rollercoaster!

I'm sorry you've had a tough day @ivfjourneyandme I hope someone from the clinic is able to talk you through the situation and give you some reassurance.

I've got another scan tomorrow so I guess I'll find out when my EC will be then!

@camelinastorm what's the pomegranate juice for? Should I be stocking up?

I'm on 2 pessaries a day and 2 Lubion injections. As well as 1 clexane injection, 3 estrogen tabs and patches, aspirin and a steroid.... 🙃 they did progesterone and estrogen blood tests in the run up to transfer and they want to check them again next Weds (1 week after fet) to make sure my levels don't drop.
Really have everything crossed for you. I honestly think this part is the worst bit of the entire process... the waiting and constant symptom spotting.

I'm actually really enjoying the daily beetroot and pomegranate juice! 😅

@ivfjourneyandme all good, did you hear any more from the clinic ? With my Stims part I was given 2 more days of Stims to ensure they became a decent size and we got 12 eggs them adding a few more days may just do the trick, hopefully the larger one was just hidden,

@camelinastorm no update yet - I sent them a message on the portal yesterday so hopefully may hear something today. I find the waiting between scans so hard! But I know it’s a means to an end

@PrincessofLiechtenstein the pomegranate and beetroot juice is said to increase blood flow to the uterus, thickening lining and aiding implantation, I have the beetroot shots as well as the cartons

@ClaudiaRaz random question, did you start the blood thinners, steroids and progesterone injections the day of FET

Thanks @camelinastorm. I actually had loads of beetroots in the veg box this week so I'd better think of something to cook with them.

Hope you hear something soon @ivfjourneyandme it is so hard just waiting and not knowing isn't it.

So I started them around day 13 of my cycle following a couple of scans. Up until that point I was just on the estrogen tabs and patches.

Hey, just had my CD12/Stim day 10 scan. Not sure things are looking great. They want me to go back on Sunday for another scan and will likely do the trigger Sunday night so EC on Tuesday, however they are talking about converting to a freeze all cycle and I'm not really sure why.

Follicles are
L: 16,16,14,10,8,8,7,6
R:15,12,10,8,8

I think they are only looking at the greater than 10 ones at this stage? It's so difficult when you have nothing to compare it to.

Feeling pretty disappointed to be honest. I just wanted to get things out of the way and know if it worked or not. FET wouldn't be until February and if it failed it would be May I guess before we could try another EC round. Feel like time is really against me.

I went for my day 9 scan today
The first nurse said they would need to freeze as I have too many follicles.
When they showed the doctor he said it's all good and to continue for egg collection on Monday.
Trigger injection is tomorrow.

I had the same situation as you last Monday and was initially very upset. It sounds like they are doing a freeze all cycle for same reason as me,OHSS risk. I actually feel really grateful for the break until January now! I didn’t realise how stressed out I was by the whole process.

Hop EC goes well for you and you start to feel better about the freeze all cycle. I completely get just wanting to get it done though.

@ClaudiaRaz wow your clinic sounds really thorough. I’m only on one progesterone pessary a day and that’s it! I hope it’s enough 😬

@PrincessofLiechtenstein they want to do a freeze all cause of the number of follicles you have. I was upset when I had to do a freeze all for my first round but tbh with 13 follicles you might be grateful for it! I felt pretty. Rough for about 5-7 days after and wasn’t in the right state to do a transfer. Also your numbers look good! All the best!

You're very similar to me, I'm 39, and got 8 eggs all fertilised.
How did your 1st round go?

Oh wow, yes!
When was your EC? Are you doing a fresh transfer?

This cycle is a bit better than the first so far (where I got 5 eggs, 4 fertilised and transferred 2, but BFN)

I had my second scan today, day 10 of stims. I'm ready for EC on Monday! Trigger injection tomorrow at 21:30. Exactly at the same timing @Harshtruth1111
