IVF/ICSI/FET December 2024

Any peeps having IVF/ICSI/FET in Dec.
I am due to start meds 1st Dec this will be my frozen transfer from my 2nd cycle in August have stocked up on beetroot and pomegranate juice, looking for any tips 🙏🏼

@Cosyseason1234 I like that view, I’ll take that! Clinic have changed my scan from Friday to Monday now to give them chance to grow. Very annoying as cancelled a weekend trip to Spain to see my sister as was told it’d be Friday! 🤦🏼‍♀️

Yes well done @Magix86 @Confusedddddddd Hope you are both feeling ok after? Congrats on the eggs and 🤞🤞🤞 for the results. Glad that you didn't find the procedure too scary. Did they let your partners stay?

@ivfjourneyandme it's so frustrating isn't it. I rearranged my whole work diary this week for scans and then they moved them all back one day so I had to do it all over again! Sounds sensible that they have extended your schedule though, hopefully it will give the smaller ones time to catch up. Hope you can find some fun things to do this weekend instead to take your mind off things.

@ivfjourneyandme thank you. It was really OK to be honest. I was awake throughout the whole thing but remember very little of it! I think in all it took about 20 mins 😅

@PrincessofLiechtenstein thank you 😊 I'm feeling quite a bit of pain now the meds have worn off but nothing else. Hopefully it will ease if I carry on resting tonight. My partner wasn't allowed to join me for the egg collection so he just stayed in the waiting room for me 🙃

Hi All - had my FET earlier today, apparently it went very well. They used a day 5 embyro which was hatching.
Now for the worst part, the dreaded 10day wait! 😥Trying to keep myself occupied this next week and prioritise mental wellbeing!

@PrincessofLiechtenstein just seen your post about getting nothing done at work! For the past few weeks I’ve felt like I’ve been present but not really there 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 IVF is alllllll consuming!

@ClaudiaRaz fingers crossed for you! Hopefully you can do some Christmassy stuff to keep occupied.

Hi all! Just had a 5 Day 5AB segmental mosaic embryo transferred today. Hopeful it’ll work this time after a chemical pregnancy (4aa untested) in August. @ClaudiaRaz sounds like we are on exactly the same timeline! Goodluck all!

Hi everyone. Can I join this thread? I'm prepping for my 5th transfer on Weds 18th December at the moment. It will be my first transfer with a confirmed Euploid embryo. It's taken us three rounds of egg collection to get here. I've had 2 chemicals and 2 BFNs and I'm on an immune protocol too.

I'm going to catch up on the thread, but is anyone else getting ready for a transfer?

Procedure itself was fine. Mine was on general anaesthetic but not full dose, I had a very strange dream while I was under!
Mine was in an NHS hospital and partner was allowed to stay in my bay, but I was on my own in theatre and recovery. I went home within about 30 mins of coming out.
Similar to @Magix86 when the painkillers wore off I was in a fair bit of pain. Paracetamol helped but could have really done with more. Hopefully will be better tomorrow, and get some good news on fertilisation.

Mine was a 5BB tested. My last FET in Oct (6AB - tested) ended up as a chemical too... but it was my first positive pregnancy test ever in 3.5 years TTC.

@ClaudiaRaz yes it is! Although I might test on the 12th as I had a positive then last time. Sorry about your chemical. Mine was my first positive pregnancy test too. I was so excited then devastated. I’m a bit less hopeful this time as it’s a mosaic and I also don’t want to get my hopes up again. I hope we have better luck this time! Did your clinic do a progesterone test? Mine is through the roof and I feel kinda feverish with just one pessary a day. Awful gas too 🙈

@ivfjourneyandme I'm sorry the clinic changed your scan days and you missed your trip to Spain. I'm sorry you were sad with your scan results. It's so hard. Obviously it's my first ivf and don't have much experience but on my nurse planning appointment, she told me: what we are aiming for is 1 good embryos, that's the goal. I keep going back to that and it helps me relax to be honest as it feels a realistic goal.

I had my 8 day scan, looks like I am responding well to the treatment, second scan on Friday and possible EC on Monday. Can't wait to stop injections...

I got unexpected good news this morning: 8/8 fertilised. I won't hear anything until transfer day now but they said they expect 35 - 40% to make it to day 5.

Hi all - late to the party but hoping I can join!?

I’m on my second IVF round (both NHS) after failed first transfer end of October (only 2 eggs, 2 embryos, only one made it to day 3, so day 3 FET but didn’t make it to the 2 week point).

Had my pre-retrieval scan yesterday and looks like 2 follicles, possibly 3, but delayed retrieval from Friday to Monday to give time for possibly more follicles to grow - it looks like there may potentially be a couple more if we do a few more days of stims - fingers crossed. So looks like transfer will be next Thurs if there’s a day 3 transfer (which I think would take us to Boxing Day end of 2WW) and sat if any make it to day 5 (28th for and of 2WW).

Anyone else who will be waiting over the Xmas period (all going well of course)? I’m feeling a bit anxious about it.

I saw your message early today and had a very anxious wait for my call!

Out of 16 eggs collected, 13 were mature and 11 have fertilised 🥹 they will update us again tomorrow but looking like we're aiming for a 5 day transfer on Monday

@BaChoirDuinn Welcome! I’m not sure when my EC will be, I’m assuming next week but think it depends on my follicles. If so, I’ll be anxiously waiting over the Christmas period. I think I’m going to be naughty and test daily for my trigger to wear off and test then to see early pregnancy otherwise I’ll go mad waiting

@BaChoirDuinn IF everything goes to plan with me, EC will be Monday, if we get embryos, transfer will be Friday 13th which means my PT day will be around 26th/27th December. I will know more tomorrow after my second scan.

Been looking at my last scan report and really disheartened. I have a horrid feeling this cycle will be cancelled 😔

Thanks @OrientalPinkLily and best of luck to you with ec!! Icing helps a lot before the jabs. I basically don’t feel them once the area is iced.

@ivfjourneyandme everything ive driven myself mad with anxiety about IVF so far has been unfounded. Please don’t drive yourself mad with google black holes and overthinking ❤️ Until the experts say it’s cancelled then it’s still game on! When is your next scan? Are you NHS funded?

@Cosyseason1234 private. Next scan is Monday which will be day 12 of stims. Scan yesterday on day 7 didn’t seem very promising with follicles sizes -
