IVF/ICSI/FET December 2024

Any peeps having IVF/ICSI/FET in Dec.
I am due to start meds 1st Dec this will be my frozen transfer from my 2nd cycle in August have stocked up on beetroot and pomegranate juice, looking for any tips 🙏🏼

@PrincessofLiechtenstein oh are they not planning fresh transfer?

Oh sorry I was asking tpeas. My plan is a fresh transfer around the 13-15th assuming they get something to transfer 🤞🤞🤞

I think we are pretty much on the same transfer schedule? I've also been resolving not to test until after Xmas. Not sure how easy that will be though!

@PrincessofLiechtenstein sorry misread, yes I am due to transfer the 13/14th, it seems to be approaching fast

How is everyone feeling today? I so over work this week. Getting nothing done.

Had my 2nd scan today (Day 7 stims tonight). Increased to maximum dose 2 days ago.

Main follicle has shrunk/disappeared/was mis-measured?!

Have 3 leading follicles, all similar size - responded well to new dose

Other 3 - ‘too small to measure as unlikely to come to anything’

So disheartened. IF these 3 continue to grow, is there any point!!??

Hi @ivfjourneyandme so sorry to hear you are sad 😔 the 3 leading follicles sound really promising! One thing I’ve learnt about ivf is that it is so very unpredictable,you could get 3 amazing embryos from these 3 follicles! Quality over quantity. Try not to go down a google black hole,there’s lots of success stories in these threads ❤️ take care of yourself today and go home if you aren’t ok to be at work. When is your next scan?

It is a hellish rollercoaster! I didn’t sleep with the anxiety that my clinic will charge me for the FET that I’m having a Jan there is always something! Look after yourself today xx

What dose are you on? Is there anything they can change up. There is still time for things to change and develop.

Try to take a bit of time to look after yourself. Can you get out of the office for a bit and go for a walk?

@PrincessofLiechtenstein Thank you. On maximum dose I believe. She was very dismissive and kept going on about my low AMH

@ivfjourneyandme its so hard to keep up! I had my EC last Wednesday and doing a FET on Jan all being well ☺️

is your clinic on an app? When I have messaged on the app after scans etx when I have had anxious thoughts and they have got back to me and made me feel a lot better. I’m sorry that she was dismissive,it’s really not what you need at an already overwhelming and difficult time.

@ivfjourneyandme this is our first and only cycle! We are self funding so wouldn’t be able to justify anymore. I was sad when they said last Monday that it would need to be a freeze all cycle,but actually once I got my head round it I recognised that a break would be good for me. I didn’t realise how stressed and overwhelmed I was until after egg collection when I stopped. I’ve booked a little Christmas break so looking forward to that ☺️

@Cosyseason1234 Christmas break sounds divine!! I’m so scared for EG (if I get that far!) how many eggs fo you have in freezer? X

@ivfjourneyandme i was sooo nervous for EC,I was pacing the treatment room googling inspirational quotes 🤣 it was genuinely absolutely fine,he put the canulla in and said here come the drugs and I woke up in recovery with my boyfriend there ❤️ try not to worry and dont google! We are very lucky to have 3 in freezer,we have severe MFI so feel very grateful.

I’m petrified I won’t wake up 😂😂

Had my report sent to me, because I asked for it - wish they’d just give us the info!

5 follicles, all measuring under 10mm at the minute.
8.8, 9.3, 8.7, 6.3 and 5.1

Lets see what Friday brings which will be day 9 of stims

How many days for stims is normal?

Ah @ivfjourneyandme it’s so hard isn’t it! I hope you’ve been able to go home or take some time away from the office. I find it so hard to balance this treatment and work, it’s a wonder any of us manage to get anything done! Please try not to lose hope, I remember them saying to me on my last scan before egg collection that I only had one big follicle, and I ended up getting 7 eggs. Last cycle, I was told I had 3 large follicles and ended up with 8 eggs. So I would say you may get more eggs than follicles even if more than 3 don’t catch up. I have stimulated for 13 days on first cycle, I think about 11-12 this one as my main massive follicle was looking like it was going to over mature so we had to go for it. Hope that helps but look after yourself tonight and do something nice for yourself x

@Magix86 how did your egg collection go? Think you were having it same day as me?

Hey @Confusedddddddd we got 16 eggs!! Just waiting to hear how many fertilised tomorrow 🤞🏻 feeling a bit sore now

Well done @Magix86! I got 8, so I'm guessing the smaller ones I had didn't catch up after the last scan. But still fingers crossed we'll get at least one blastocyst from that

@Confusedddddddd well done! 8 is a great number 👌🏻 guessing you'll get the call tomorrow too. I'm dreading it but I really just want to know.

@ivfjourneyandme you will wake up! I remember being really anxious and saying to my friend 2% feel pain during EC and she was like well 98% don’t so the odds are in your favour and it made me feel better 😂
