IVF/ICSI/FET December 2024

Any peeps having IVF/ICSI/FET in Dec.
I am due to start meds 1st Dec this will be my frozen transfer from my 2nd cycle in August have stocked up on beetroot and pomegranate juice, looking for any tips 🙏🏼

@ivfjourneyandme That's great! These groups are so helpful in that way, and giving support obviously too. I find that I have to write all mine down in advance so that i didn't forget anything important that I wanted to bring up. And that I needed to take lots of notes so I could refer back too. They've been so helpful over the years!

@Whysitsohard91 that's amazing! Are you pleased?! Which care clinic are you with? Whilst mine is open they seemed quite against any activity in the in between period!

I don't downregulate until Monday so it's a bit of a slog. My clinic are really slow. I had my last transfer early August so it's been a long time coming xx

Transfer day for us tomorrow, waiting on the call at some point today to give me rough timings etc

Does anyone know/remember how long you are at hospital for during transfer?

@pinksheetss it's not normally a long time. I'm sure it depends on the clinic but I would say standard transfer is roughly 2/2.5 hours at the most, I would say.

I have to be sedated for my transfers because I have scar tissue on my cervix and it's been difficult for them historically. So I'm always a bit longer as have to get there earlier for prep and then a little longer for recovery from the sedation.

@pinksheetss my transfer was a 10 min consultation where they discussed embryos and whether we should transfer 1 or 2. The transfer itself was about 10-15mins a lot of it was checking my name and dob a million times.

My official test date is Friday and surprisingly I haven't tested early. I don't have much hope for a Bfp to be honest. My embryos were rubbish quality, and if they implanted they were probably cooked by my 48 hours of temps over 40. Fever has gone now luckily

@pinksheetss I had my transfer last Friday. My appointment was at 14:30 and they asked me to be there at 14:00 to prepare and make sure I drink water for a full bladder. They took me in at 14:40 and I was out at 15:00. It's pretty quick. Good luck with your transfer tomorrow! Same to you @Laura2301

@Confusedddddddd well done for not testing early. I had started thinking about testing early or not, now I'm 10 days past trigger injection and it's been going on in my head all the time. I'll try wait until the 27th which is my OTD... good luck with your test on Friday! Don't write yourself off yet...

I've been reading this reddit thread about success ivf stories. I read it religiously every night 😊🫣 most people are in the US so the numbers of eggs etc. are different but there are some really good stories from people that struggled but succeeded in the end. It's ok, I'm not feeling anything so I go onto negative thoughts etc. but the reddit thread I attached really helps me to keep positive 😊 i dislike the progesterone pessaries that I take twice a day but I'll be patient and just take them...

@pinksheetss I already had the day off work, not my transfer, it was just a coincidence.
We were going to Center Parcs on the 9th December, had that booked since February. What ended up happening was that my EC was on that Monday. So, went for EC in the morning, went to Center Parcs and from there to the clinic for a transfer on Friday 13th 😁.
I was feeling absolutely fine after the transfer but if you can go home and work from there, I'd say do that, you need to be very kind to yourself and relax as much as you can.

Okay I'm out and transfer is in! Now PUPO and in the TWW club. OTD for us is NYE. Now time for the mental battle to commence on when to test. I never last till OTD. Hubby and I are going to discuss what date we might land on. I'm going to have to try to not break an agreement 😂

@pinksheetss my transfer I was in for 4 hours as they insist you are there before for a final scan, then drink water for 1hour, transfer and then lay down no moving for 2 hours it was a nice rest 🤣

My official test day is boxing day I will probably hold out due to being distracted with Christmas things

New consultant was amazing. Sees no reason as to why we’d have total fertilisation failure again (although can happen in 10% of cases and considering we were in the 3% group last time, it’s daunting!)

Lots of vitamin recommendations, switching to natural FSH, higher dose and long protocol. Due to start January 😄

Yes I'm okay thank you. It's been a stressful few days for me outside of this. Works been very hectic and I had an easy to submit for my masters that I'm doing as an apprenticeship alongside work last night. So I have today off work and having a day to myself. So many emotions. Mainly hope at the moment. Feeling a bit emotional for some reason too.
