That last thread filled up quickly without us noticing. So here is a new one for Scotland.

Ooh enjoy your pupo state @TrulyMadlyDeeply123 :) I’ll be sending encouraging implantation thoughts, good luck!

KayEmmSquared · 19/08/2025 19:13

@TrulyMadlyDeeply123 congrats on being PUPO, sending you lots of positive implantation thoughts 🤞🏻

Hi Everyone, it’s been loooong time since I’ve been on this thread.
I found this group so incredibly helpful when going through IVF. Special thanks to
@IVFlife @itsmschanandlerbong @Nosejug @LT103 I was so grateful for your support when going through the difficult times.

Having done 3 rounds of IVF, 5 embryo transfers and having one miscarriage. I finally go pregnant in Dec 2023 and had my baby boy in August 2024. That’s him a year old in a week.

Apologies, I’ve not been following this thread but I hope everyone is doing okay.

We are trying to decide if we will do another round for a sibling. We very much would like to but at the same time I don’t think I could go through it all again now I’m nearing 40. It’s a hard decision to make but won’t be deciding anything till next year.

wishing you all the best xx

LT103 · 27/08/2025 14:07

@Kitty12345678 so nice to hear from you and how amazing that you have an almost 1 year old ❤️❤️.
we did decide to go back after ours turned one but had a bit of a rollercoaster and currently waiting on scan for our very last embryo (transfer number 7) as won’t be doing another collection. It’s a rollercoaster ride isn’t it!! Good luck with whatever you decide and have fun celebrating that first birthday!!

TrulyMadlyDeeply123 · 27/08/2025 20:39

Hope everyone is doing well ☺️
My OTD is tomorrow but as I'm working and was off today I tested this morning and BFN on a FRER so officially out and it was our only embryo this cycle 😞 oh well onto the next, I just hope we are not made wait months again on review and trying to get booked in 🙏🏻

Nosejug · 07/09/2025 22:03

Sorry to read that @TrulyMadlyDeeply123 I hope you’ve managed to get booked in again promptly? Are you resting inbetween? I’ve had two cancelled cycles in a row and am now in a fourth cycle and took my trigger shot just minutes ago.

I was musing on waking up from retrieval, the different experiences/moods I’ve been in. In The most recent one I thought I’d woken up during the treatment and that they were telling me they couldn’t go ahead, in another one I had a strong urge to prove how compus mentus I was and was asking the nurse about a conversation I’d overheard 🫣

has anyone ever gotten sick after? I’ve had quite a few totally successful sedations, but the first non nhs one I got extremely sick after for about 12 hours. I asked them to review what they gave me but they couldn’t see any issue. Not sure if that’s common…

Nosejug · 07/09/2025 22:08

@Kitty12345678 a little boy! And one year old! I do love hearing that it can turn into a reality.

Do you have embryos or would you be collecting again? I’m also now reaching 40. I’m blundering through without examining myself too closely. Part of me thinks I want this stage over and done with and part of me is worried about what “done with” will feel like.

KayEmmSquared · 08/09/2025 12:21

Good luck this cycle @Nosejug 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Nosejug · 08/09/2025 12:51

Thanks @KayEmmSquared :) how are you getting on??

KayEmmSquared · 08/09/2025 16:54

I’m doing good thanks @Nosejug 13weeks yesterday and had my scan today, baby is coming along nicely, long may it continue 🤞🏻

TrulyMadlyDeeply123 · 08/09/2025 22:17

@Nosejug I wish you well for this cycle 🤞🏻 Ive only been through the one cycle and no sickness, usually NHS will stick with a midazolam/fentanyl/propofol combination that shouldn't cause nausea, so really depends if they gave you a slightly different drug, horrible feeling though!
I'm still waiting on them reviewing my notes before I can get started with another cycle which they said would be in the "coming weeks" so such a vague time frame. We go on holiday next week so it will be a much needed break prior to starting anything again!
Thats amazing news on your scan @KayEmmSquared 🥰

Nosejug · 10/09/2025 19:20

That’s so exciting @KayEmmSquared ! And here here (I can never remember if it’s here or hear, and just went down a wormhole of enjoying the “here hare here” moment in withnail & I). But here here to many more smooth weeks and months.

@TrulyMadlyDeeply123 yeah I actually have had 4 successful nhs sedations without a hint of sickness, and the private version was extreme sickness. [I wrote that last sentence pre egg collection yesterday but never finished it before the procedure] I think it turns out it was an antibiotic pessary that made me so sick, as the anaesthetics were the same ish. NHS never gave me antibiotics. I hate taking them without need.

of four follicles I got three mature eggs and so far two embryos. Original plan was to bank but since last round I got 5 eggs and no blasts, I’m probably gonna try day three transfer. Anecdotally I’ve heard the body can provide support that lab culture cannot. But I can’t find any true evidence of this.

KayEmmSquared · 12/09/2025 08:15

@Nosejug thats really good retrieval and fertilisation figures.

I think there’s mixed opinions on Day 3 transfers, part of me thinks clinics try to avoid them because it gives them less control over success rate figures/clinic statistics rather than any sort of scientific evidence, and I’ve heard of a few girls having successful births from Day 3 so I’d say Go for it! If waiting until Day 5 hasn’t worked in the past then it’s worth a shot with a Day 3! Good luck with whatever route you decide to take 🤞🏻

LT103 · 21/09/2025 08:59

Hope everyone is still doing well.

we had a 10 week scan on Friday and everything looking well. I still can’t believe after 4 failed rounds it took until our last embryo and our worst graded embryo to get our positive this time around. Still can’t relax and still not at stage of being happy and excited about it but slowly getting there

IVFlife · 02/10/2025 02:12

Hello thought I should update and can't quite believe I'm writing this. Nearly 6 years after getting referred to GRI we've had our miracle rainbow GCRM baby. He's absolutely perfect and the c section was coincidentally carried out by my premature ovarian insufficiency consultant!

There were times when I thought we would never get here. It hasn't been plain sailing. I'll never stop feeling so grateful

Oh my two lovely positive messages, so wonderful to read!

congratulations on the birth of your son @IVFlife ♥️ how wonderful to say son! It must feel so surreal! I’ve been thinking of you :)

ahh @LT103 a good ten week scan! From out here that sounds so good but I can imagine the carefulness in how you allow yourself to anticipate. Sorry I missed the message—you’re nearly 12 weeks now! Do you have another scan coming up? I’m doing my “smooth sailing” chant for you!

I got interrupted writing this message by my alarm telling me to take my cetrotide out the fridge haha. Onwards and onwards.

Nosejug · 02/10/2025 07:27

Sorry, that was meant to read like ‘oh my, two lovely messages!’, not ‘my two lovely messages, all for me!’ ha 🫣

2mumlife · 02/10/2025 21:04

@IVFlife Congratulations!! That’s amazing news. Enjoy your newborn bubble, they grow up so fast xxx

@LT103 congrats!!!

in back to lurking a bit as Im returning to work and my wee babe is just about to turn 1, so we’re in the limbo stage about whether we transfer our last embryo or not next year

LT103 · 12/10/2025 08:27

@IVFlife amazing news. Congratulations and glad it all went well!! Enjoy every second

@2mumlife cant believe that’s your little one 1 already. Time flies!!

we’re now 13 weeks and so far so good. I still can’t believe it and have moments of worrying but starting to believe it’s actually going to happen now!

2mumlife · 23/10/2025 10:11

@LT103 I think you spend so much of the first 12 weeks worrying that it’s really hard to realise it’s actually happening. Have you had much morning sickness??

Nosejug · 23/10/2025 20:31

I met @KayEmmSquared over on another thread ♥️ but thought I’d share that my last round (natural modified) gave us one good quality blast (our first in 5 rounds) and it’s currently chugging out a healthy amount of hcg. Had repeat bloods to rule out 2nd ectopic, and a scan to confirm position next week. I love the care of my local epu, even in bad times. But hopefully this will finally be a good time.

LT103 · 25/10/2025 00:41

Oh wow @Nosejug what lovely news. Keeping everything crossed for you and hope scan goes well!!!!

we have our gender scan on Sunday. I genuinely have no idea what it’s going to be

KayEmmSquared · 25/10/2025 10:08

Absolutely buzzing for your @Nosejug sending you all my positive vibes for your scan next week ✨

good luck at your gender scan @LT103 I have my 20weeks scan this week but I’m not going to find out, this could be our one and only pregnancy so we want to keep it a surprise for the big day 💙🩷

Nosejug · 25/10/2025 17:39

hehe thanks again @KayEmmSquared and @LT103

oooh have fun at your gender scan LT! must feel amazing to be at that point! (is fun the right word? It feels like fun news to get! My dp wants to find out and I don't think I would, but who knows!
