Great news @AnnieStar12 really pleased for you! 💜

HopefulllHolly · 16/07/2024 13:25

@DogMummy87 Have you worked out any patterns in it at all? Mine was obviously no where near as bad as yours but was sometimes (especially morning) due to hunger and low blood sugar levels, so I kept something small by my bed to nibble on first thing when I’d wake up at 4am feeling hungry and sick. Eating little and often seemed to curb mine a bit. Not saying yours is anything like mine but if you can spot if anything is triggering it beyond just the hormones then you can help to calm it.

I’ve been really naughty today and bought somethings for baby because it was Amazon prime day. Only small things like bath thermometer and room temp thing plus a little set of things like a nail file and nose suction thing and hair brush. Feel very risky doing it though! Also bought one of those bbhugme pillows from vinted because I didn’t want to pay the full price for it. 😅 I need this though as I sleep on my back and need to stop it and apparently they are good cushions so fingers crossed I can train myself.

@HopefulllHolly so cute to have a little outfit! Bet that makes it all feel real 🥰
Glad that each scan is helping with the anxiety, not long until the next one! I was saying to dh earlier the whole ttc journey is living life in 2 week cycles and that doesn't seem to end with pregnancy! 😅

I'm generally feeling ok, put off most foods and can be quite nauseous and tired most days, but managing!

@DogMummy87 sorry to hear you've been so sick! I think we're on similar timeframes, good luck for Friday!

@RunningOnHope and @AnnieStar12 lovely news on your scan and test results!

DogMummy87 · 16/07/2024 13:46

Thanks @Natty2 and @ThePeachGoose and yes I think we are @Natty2 when is your next scan booked for? I have been hopeless keeping up with this thread recently 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️

@HopefulllHolly no real pattern as it is constant all day long. I have been doing small and regular eating since about week 5/6 as have had some sort of nausea since then. But it has definitely ramped up a gear this past week and my only relief seems to be when I am asleep. Before this past week I was able to eat fine and drink lots of water which wasn't too bad. But now I am battling to drink even 1 litre of water a day and don't feel like eating anything at all. And if I eat too much of anything it comes straight back up. I am praying it is a moment in time but I need to go to the GP to sort my thyroid meds anyway this week so will mention it to them and see what they say. Still managing my vitamins every night and only one evening I am worried I may have thrown them back up 😜🤣🤦🏻‍♀️

Fluffyted · 16/07/2024 13:49

@DippyDuck19 I had my bloods taken last week too for the testing (at the 12 week scan).
Do you have the badger app? Mine were updated on Friday on the app so like 4 working days later & then I got a letter this morning from the antenatal team confirming the results so that was 6 working days later.
So yours may well be in the post!
My midwife said if there was a problem or anything to worry about the hospital would ring me within 3 days so I'd go on no news is good news for now 😊 it's stressful waiting though isn't it. I was checking the app every hour, every day, for an update 😂

@DogMummy87 ahhh so exiting about your scan on Friday! I hope it goes well.
It really sounds like you're having the toughest time with the nausea & sickness - I'd deffo see if the GP can help. It can't b easy for you at all, even resting is hard when you feel horrendous.
I also noticed that mine got worse even with the slightest bit of hunger so I was constantly nibbling on breadsticks, rice cakes & crackers. I also noticed that water made it worse so changed to weak squash and if I drank any fluid without eating anything (even just a bite of a cracker) it wouldn't sit right in my tummy, so I ended up having to time my drinking with my nibbling and it helped a little. Sour sweets were also a winner for me.
I know mine is nothing like worse and you sound like you're really going through a rough time, I'm just hoping something helps you!! I hope you start feeling better soon.

@RunningOnHope I'm so glad the scan went well for you & your DW and your little baby is ok! It's a shame they didn't let you have a picture though.

@AnnieStar12 awww congratulations!! A little girl 🩷
I have no idea what that fetal fraction is but hopefully it's nothing to worry about!

DogMummy87 · 16/07/2024 13:56

Thanks @Fluffyted I really appreciate it 🥰💕

Yeah, I will keep trying to hydrate and nibble away as best I can and see what the GP says when I manage to get an appointment. I know I am still getting something in my body each day - even if it is not the healthiest of foods! But fingers crossed my hormone levels may just be peaking at the moment and it will ease off soon. That is what I am comforting myself with anyway as the thought of this feeling going beyond 12 weeks is 😜🤣🤦🏻‍♀️

HopefulllHolly · 16/07/2024 14:06

@AnnieStar12 So sorry I totally missed a whole page of messages including yours!! Amazing your got your results back and all low risk - stop googling! 3% is enough dna for it to be accurate! So so pleased for you as I know how worried you were. And a little girl! My Ramzi predictions have been 100% now 🤣🤣 I’m so pleased for you!! She’s going to be a very loved little girl!

@DippyDuck19 Missed your message too! I also have bought a few tiny things on Amazon today off my list. Feels nice ticking things off. Don’t worry about your trisomy tests - if you want to still get a NIPT for peace of mind then do, but I think if your NHS comes back fine then you’ve said money from
not doing it! 🙂 I’m sure they are all totally fine and little boy is perfect. 😍

AnnieStar12 · 16/07/2024 15:36

@edf congrats! Such a relief isn’t it :)

Now I’ve just got the countdown to the 12 week scan. 8 days to go…

DogMummy87 · 16/07/2024 15:57

Brilliant news @Edf 😍💕

Leaf86 · 16/07/2024 16:19

Congrats @AnnieStar12 and @Edf ! Great milestone to tick off.

For those on their second+ pregnancy, has anyone started to feel movements yet?! I swear I can feel a something already (I’m 12+1) but I don’t know if that’s ridiculously early. I felt my DS at 15/16 weeks and this feels very similar - a barely perceptible swishing / feeling of motion in my uterus (obviously no kicks yet!).

@DogMummy87 sorry you’re feeling so rubbish. In addition to meds, I used an app you can get on iPhones called “Nevasic”. It plays tones at specific levels that is intended to stimulate your vestibular system (I think) to reduce nausea. I find it really works for me (combined with lying down). You have to use it with earphones as it targets different tones in each ear. Sounds very strange but might be worth a go! They did some research within the NHS on it and had promising results.

DippyDuck19 · 16/07/2024 16:27

@Fluffyted I keep telling myself no news is good news so fingers crossed! My hospital don't use the badger app unfortunately. So will just have to wait for my letter.

@HopefulllHolly I've gone wild on Amazon and bought the bed side crib!!! Ha! Don't know what come over me but DP said it's a good deal and if that's the one I want then may as well buy it at £60 off! If my screening results come through within the next week and not looking good, I can always return it 🤷🏻‍♀️

@Edf great news!!! What a relief x

Edf · 16/07/2024 16:30

@Leaf86 thanks :) i was thinking the same thing, every now and again I really think I feel something, but nothing that makes me thing that’s defo the baby, so I think I’m just trying to manifest it 😂 last time I had a very def “roll” feeling at 16weeks which I new for sure was it but jury still out!

@DogMummy87 @AnnieStar12 @HopefulllHolly thanks 💕 and those 8 days before 12 week scan will be here before you know it @AnnieStar12

I’ve now got my 16 week midwife date, 20, 28, 32 and 36 week scan dates 😂 nothing like a bit of forward planning from the mat unit! But some good milestones to look forward to! I’m assuming everyone else is getting these 28,32 and 36 ones due to ivf too?

ThePeachGoose · 16/07/2024 16:42

Congratulations @Edf I’m pleased that everyone is getting such good news in this thread 🥳

I’m still 5 weeks away from week 12, but I’m both excited following everyone’s positive results, yet still terrified because you’re terrified at every step in this process 😂

HopefulllHolly · 16/07/2024 17:07

@DippyDuck19 There are some really good deals so why not! And I’m sure everything will be totally fine and you won’t need to return anything. Put that out your head! We’re going to get the big items from 20 weeks (and probably on Black Friday in reality which is like 30 weeks 🤣), but the small stuff I’ve just said I’m going to buy a little every month, but if I see a good deal then I’ll buy things sooner! I love a bargain!

@Edf Oooh exciting you have such organised midwives! I only have my date for 16 week and 20 week. They tend to organise the next date at each appointment really. So I have no idea how many scans I’ll have yet. My 16 week is 13th August and 20 week is 5th September.

@Leaf86 Ive read loads of threads because I don’t know what movements would even feel like and it sounds like second time mummies feel movements much earlier - or it could be you know what to look for. So definitely could be baby moving which is so lovely. I can’t wait for that! For now I’ll just marvel at my growing belly. It’s really noticeable now - especially post lunchtime it just pops right out which is funny. Have a fair bit of pains too, but nothing awful, just niggly feelings. But I wish I could feel movement! Another 4 weeks at least for that I think for me. 😔

DogMummy87 · 16/07/2024 19:30

Thanks @Leaf86 I will definitely look into that! I will try anything! 🤞🏻🙏🏻💜

Fluffyted · 16/07/2024 19:34

@DogMummy87 for me things did get better after the 12 week scan & stopping the IVF medication .. I'm holding the same hope it does for you too! (If you're still having sickness & nausea then)

@edf ohh that's fab!! For some reason I like having things booked in for the baby ... makes it all so much more real & gives me dates to focus on. You have very organised midwives & antenatal hospital!

@AnnieStar12 these 8 days will fly by!! Sooo exciting.

DogMummy87 · 16/07/2024 20:21

I am really, really hoping that will be the case @Fluffyted will be positive thinking my way through the next few weeks. My work has been really good and said I can reduce my days or mainly work from home - whatever makes it easier for me to manage this next short while. They have been so great throughout the IVF treatment as well so I feel very lucky. Not sure how anyone manages feeling like this working flat out with no flexibility in hours etc. when all you want to do is be in bed! And most people don't even tell people about their pregnancy at this stage. Hats off to anyone who has had to do that and survived! 🙌🏻💕

Leaf86 · 16/07/2024 21:49

@HopefulllHolly it will come round so quickly now you’re post 12 weeks (but also don’t panic if it’s later, my sister in law didn’t feel anything until 21 weeks!). It’s really special and hopefully when it starts being regular, will offset a lot of anxiety. I definitely enjoyed the second half of pregnancy (when I could feel him) soo much more. Lovely that you are getting a bump, have you bought any maternity clothes yet?

@AnnieStar12 I’ve just remembered that my fetal fraction was too low to report a result with my DS (at 11+3) - we had to wait until 14/15 weeks to repeat the test and fetal fraction was 9% then. It’s apparently more common in IVF pregnancies to have lower fetal fraction (that’s what they told me). They also told me they “had” a result, it’s just that it was against their policy to report at such a low fraction. Ultimately their finding was consistent with both tests (fine at 11 weeks and fine at 15) so I don’t think it means much. We were categorically told not to worry.

HopefulllHolly · 17/07/2024 06:21

@Leaf86 I can’t wait! It’ll be lovely to feel movement. Feels like a long wait to even my next official appointment or scan! The last week has dragged! No I haven’t bought any maternity - just a few things like drawstring linen trousers. But I am regretting it! I’m in London for work today and I had a 4am meltdown trying my smarter work stuff on - all of it fit last week and now it won’t even come close to doing up. So I’m in my linen trousers and look like a slob! 😂😂 I just don’t want to be buying things as I have far too many clothes - I think all of which I won’t fit in anymore post baby so need to start getting rid of them 🙃

Quick update: Saw GP this morning and they have prescribed me omeprazole for reflux and cyclizine for vomiting. I am going to try the omeprazole first for a few days in the hope that helps before trying out the stronger meds. But apparently both are very safe in pregnancy 🤷🏻‍♀️
Feel relieved to have something to try but the doctor couldn't have got me out of there quickly enough. It felt so rushed. And I tried to ask her about my thyroid meds which I need re prescribing as they are going to run out but she wouldn't listen and said as this appointment was urgent care I need ANOTHER appointment to deal with that. So I went back to reception who were not very happy with the doctor for doing that and can't book me in until 24th - but my meds will run out Saturday. So they have advised I go through the whole urgent care process again tomorrow for this. The receptionist was lovely about it and very apologetic but what a waste of everyone's time!
I need a lie down now 🤣🤣

HopefulllHolly · 17/07/2024 19:47

@DogMummy87 Oh I’m so pleased you’ve got something to take to hopefully help you feel better and eat again! But that’s terrible from your doctor - created double the appointments now, probably just to get on lunch on time. Sorry you’ve had a stressful day with it!

Hello all ☺️ just found this threat and want to join please. So lovely to read your stories here.
I am 9 weeks pregnant with twins. After over 2 years of trying we were finally blessed!
I am still taking progesterone and estrogen patches until 12 weeks, was this the case for other too?
Not feeling too well (nauseous), can't eat much and very tired especially in the afternoon.
Is anyone else in their first trimester?
