@DogMummy87 this is so devastating 😢 I’m so sorry you’re going through this! 💔

summerchild92 · 19/07/2024 11:26

Also welcome to all the new people here!

My husband and I are going on a holiday on Saturday. Has anyone been already and do you think I can go swimming? 😬 We’re going to Croatia so I’d be swimming in the ocean, not the pool.

Leaf86 · 19/07/2024 11:27

Holding your hand @DogMummy87 - the saddest news 💔💔 It’s so horrible and a massive shock. Will be thinking of you both. Xxx

Natty2 · 19/07/2024 13:09

@DogMummy87 I'm so so sorry to hear this, devastating 💔💔 thinking of you and sending you lots of love and strength

DippyDuck19 · 19/07/2024 13:27

@DogMummy87 am so sorry to hear this. Thinking of you and sending virtual hugs! Will keep everything crossed that the second opinion is more positive.

DogMummy87 · 19/07/2024 14:01

Thanks everyone. We are so sad. The hospital can't get me in for second scan until Monday at 12pm so it is going to be a long weekend. Will be cuddling my pups and wondering if it might just happen naturally before then. We will see 😓

AnnieStar12 · 19/07/2024 14:49

@DogMummy87 I‘m so sorry to hear this. What a shock at nearly 10 weeks (if I remember correctly). I had a similar experience last year so feel free to ask any questions if that’s useful. Sending virtual hugs xx

AnnieStar12 · 19/07/2024 14:52

@summerchild92 how many weeks past transfer are you? I think it’s safe after a few weeks. The reason I believe they advise against swimming and baths for a couple weeks after transfer is because they “clean” your insides which gets rid of all of the good stuff needed to fight off any bacteria. Enjoy your holiday!

Edf · 19/07/2024 15:04

@DogMummy87 my heart is breaking for you I’m am soooo sorry it is the absolute worst!!! Sending you loadsa love and virtual hugs ❤️❤️❤️ look after yourself and if it is helpful at all I’d get yourself signed off work for a bit to allow yourself time to grieve.

DogMummy87 · 19/07/2024 15:31

Thanks @AnnieStar12 and @Edf yeah I would have been 10 weeks on Monday.

My work has been so good throughout all of this and they have already said to take as much time as I need so I am very lucky there. I just feel totally at a loss now and not quite sure what to do with myself. Hopefully the weekend will pass quickly and we can at least get some closure with this second scan and make decisions about how to manage things.

We were on our only funded round of IVF with none to freeze and genuinely don't know if we will have the money to go again any time soon. But we will have a think about it once we have had proper time to process it all 💜

HopefulllHolly · 19/07/2024 21:27

@DogMummy87 Feeling so sad for you. I hope Monday comes quickly. Really glad your work are being so lovely. Thinking of you. xx

Good luck for your scan tomorrow @Natty2 i hope everything is looking good for you ☺️

Thanks @HopefulllHolly I had it this morning but was so anxious going into it after the sad news on here.
Hope it's ok to say, really relieved to see all is ok, measuring to date at 9+3 today and baby wriggling around 🥰
Have our booking appointment tomorrow then can hopefully get booked in for our 12week scan!

How's everyone doing?

HopefulllHolly · 21/07/2024 11:49

@Natty2 Of course it’s ok to say! Congratulations that’s lovely news. So so pleased it went ok for you. ☺️ Eeek not long now until your 12 week one really! How exciting!

Im all good. Have had some cramping/pulling feelings quite badly on one day, but they’ve gone now thankfully. Made me panic a bit! Other than that my bumps just growing nicely, I have a road map of veins all over my boobs and I still am a bit of a fussy eater but other than that I feel totally normal. This stage waiting for the 20 week scan is hard as you feel yourself - so don’t have any symptoms to really focus on. Going to have a scan at 16 weeks to tie me over I think. Was going to have it sooner but I figured I might as well just hold tight another week and then I’ll have done 4 weeks which is good for me! 😅

AnnieStar12 · 21/07/2024 12:46

I’m having a total panic today. I’ve feel like I’ve lost all my symptoms and was already feeling nervous about that low fetal fraction so I’m now convinced that this pregnancy has stopped progressing. My 12 week scan is on Wednesday morning but I am really tempted to have another scan today as Wednesday feels so far away. My local window to the womb is open today and have same day availability. I know I shouldn’t as that would be two scans in a week. But I feel like I’m going mad and nothing can reassure me apart from a scan.
I’ve had bad dreams about this a few times recently, which I know is just the build up to the 12 week scan.
sorry for the rant, just know this group will understand!

@Natty2 so pleased for you, enjoy the reassurance!! Hope booking appointment goes well.

HopefulllHolly · 21/07/2024 12:56

@AnnieStar12 Oh bless you, I’m sorry you’re feeling so anxious. I totally get it, and it’s normal to be worrying! I think even a straight forward pregnancy people are scared something is wrong. If having a scan today will make you feel better then definitely just go for it - nothing we say will likely calm you too much if you’re having nightmares and things. I felt exactly the same at the point you are too - lots of my symptoms happened to get less pronounced and I was really worrying - but everything was fine. And I’ve said that every time after a scan, symptoms aren’t an indication of anything. Poor DogMummy has had horrific sickness even though she has had bad news - having symptoms really doesn’t mean it’s good or bad.
My only advice would be to keep yourself as busy as possible, try and focus your mind that it will all be fine (and most likely is!) and have a bit of self care and a little pamper. I tend to try and go get my nails done or do something I can’t Google on my phone and that distracts me for a while.
Sending big hugs, we all know how you feel and you’re not alone or going crazy! Xxxx

Thank you both!
@AnnieStar12 did you manage to go for a scan today? Hope everything is ok

@HopefulllHolly glad you're feeling ok! Road map of veins is so accurate! 😂 16 weeks sounds like a good time to go for another scan. We'll be doing the same when we finally get there!!
Another countdown to next scan begins 😅

AnnieStar12 · 21/07/2024 16:48

Thanks both @Natty2 and @HopefulllHolly
I held off as I know it’s ridiculous to have a scan when I’ve got one booked in less than 72 hours. Just gotta be patient and countdown the hours.
Also kept thinking if something is wrong it’s not going to be fun finding out at a private scan place on a Sunday. Better to be at the nhs hospital where they can look after you.

Next few days gonna be hard, but I’ll get there!!

ThePeachGoose · 21/07/2024 23:24

@Natty2 thank you for sharing your scan news as it brought me a bit of positivity. I’ve been stressed as well with my continuous brown discharge and I think I’m gonna call the EPU tomorrow to check when they could see me next. But pleased you got a bit of relief and hope the booking appointment goes well.

@AnnieStar12 oh I totally get your anxiety, every time one of my symptoms goes away, I think it’s all over. Hopefully you can keep yourself busy in the next few days. If you pack your days with people and projects (if you have the energy for it), the days will go by faster. Wishing you all the luck!

AnnieStar12 · 22/07/2024 10:33

Exactly 48 hours to go to my 12 week scan! Luckily I am very busy at work, and have dinner plans tomorrow night so hopefully I won't have any spare time to stress too much.

How is everyone else getting on? Any more scans this week?

@ThePeachGoose good luck contacting the EPU, hopefully they can see you today. How many weeks are you now?

ThePeachGoose · 22/07/2024 11:23

@AnnieStar12 oh good, I’m pleased you have lots of things to keep you busy. The very best of luck for Wed. I’ll be thinking of you.

I’m 8+1 today and the EPU will luckily see me at 2 pm 🤞🏻

Fluffyted · 22/07/2024 12:06

Hi lovelies how is everyone? I hope you all enjoyed your weekend.

@DogMummy87 I hope you & your partner are ok (as can be). I hope the second opinion has a positive outcome today. I've been thinking about you all weekend.

@Natty2 aww that's fab news! And will only a few of weeks to go for the 12 week one. I hope your booking appointment goes well today.

@AnnieStar12 I'm the same when symptoms stop or new ones start. I end up googling until I've convinced myself it's ok!
I'm all good thank you, nothing to report at the moment. Got the long wait until my next scan at 20 weeks, though I'm so grateful to be at this point.

@ThePeachGoose I'm so glad you managed to get an appointment for today! I hope it's all good news and everything is ok. Even just for a bit of reassurance for you, it will make all the difference.

DogMummy87 · 22/07/2024 14:38

Hi everyone! Just wanted to update but this will be the last one as I don't want to turn this thread into a sad one or cause any unnecessary anxiety for people.

Had the missed miscarriage confirmed today and will be looked after now as best they can at the local hospital. Everyone we have encountered from the beginning of IVF until now has been so kind - it has helped lots.

I will keep in the background on here as it will be lovely to hear all your good news as things progress. Not sure what we will do next but our main focus is just to look after one another for now. Thanks for all your support and kindness during this time - it has meant the world! 💕💜

AnnieStar12 · 22/07/2024 17:44

@DogMummy87 thankyou for sharing your news, and I’m so sorry that’s it’s such a tragic outcome. Im so gutted for you. Take all the time you need to get through these coming days and weeks, and look after yourself. Hoping your time will come soon ❤️

RunningOnHope · 22/07/2024 18:11

Sending you lots of love @DogMummy87, so sorry for all you're going through. Xxx

Hopefulsummer35 · 22/07/2024 18:13

@DogMummy87 thinking of you and your partner 💗 You are so strong and have such a kind outlook on life. I hope you have lots of positive news in the future as you so deserve it. Take care xx
