@Natty2 I tried both the bugaboo fox and dragonfly out. The dragonfly was what I was hoping to get because it's soo light and compact. Am petite too (5ft 1). But the handle bar was clunky to adjust and to manoeuvre the seat forward or lying down was really tricky too. It wasn't smooth. I felt like I'd give baby whiplash or catapult him out of the pram 😂

The fox is much larger in size but isn't much heavier when I tried them both out! Was easier to push and the seat and handlebar adjustment was soo much smoother!

Bit late to the party but if you have badger notes they should have your 20 week % on there- attached mine just as reference- tho maybe other trusts are bad at updating?

@Natty2 I was roughly around where you are (I think you’re almost 19 weeks aren’t you?) and the first movement felt like a little tapping from inside, then it became more like a goldfish was inside my tummy. Now it’s proper kicks and like a rolling/movement feeling that’s really strong. But from the first little movement to the stronger movement was quite quick - like within a week it was fairly regularly stronger movement. Some of the movement makes me feel a bit sick - like the ones that are low down feel like they are kicking me in my privates quite hard 😂😂 But I guess it depends where your placenta is where you feel it. I definitely feel more movement on one side than the other! How exciting! Baby kicking is the best ❤️

Yeah mine doesn’t have this - literally just says anterior placenta not low and that’s it 😂 I might phone them and see if they can add more detail (not for me but for my community midwife)

Oh no, I was reading this thread and it made me look at my hospital app and download my 20 week report. I knew it was there, but had decided not to look at it as I knew I'd find something to worry about! Anyways, I've just looked through it and it says my baby's BPD measurements are on the 7th percentile whereas everything else is much higher than that. Argh! I wish I never looked, honestly those of you without detailed notes are better off that way. My hospital upload absolutely everything in detail for me to go away and google😩
This below is just the overview, then there are 3 pages of details, argh!! I might drop them an email and see if someone can reassure me, I guess if they were worried they would have said something.

AnnieStar12 · 23/09/2024 20:13

@HopefulllHolly I need to do some redecorating before I can sort all the baby stuff out so just trying to find a decorator to come do that as I don't think I can take on any DIY projects right now! I am super excited about getting it all down and putting it all in drawers, etc.

@edf Interesting looks like your hospital didn't even measure the BPD so who knows?!

HopefulllHolly · 23/09/2024 20:46

@AnnieStar12 Whats BPD? I’m absolutely sure that it’s totally fine - try not to worry. If you think it’s just 100 average babies lined up, there’s still 7 that have smaller than you and are still in the range of normal. And baby is so tiny that no doubt all of these measurements will change. You see lots of posts on here about baby being in 98% percentile or something and then down to 40% 2 weeks later and they are growing so rapidly at the moment that I don’t think it’s worth stressing about. ❤️

OP posts:
AnnieStar12 · 23/09/2024 21:49

@HopefulllHolly it is the biparietal diameter which is the measurement between the temples. Tbh, I’d never heard of it before this scan!
I’ve sent an email to the hospital so hopefully I’ll hear back with some reassuring answers. I know you’re totally right, these scan measurements are notorious for causing worry. I remember with my last baby there was worry about her tummy being too big! Always something isn’t there!!

But I’m gonna try focus on being positive as I really want to enjoy my pregnancy and I only have 18.5 weeks to go, eek!

Natty2 · 23/09/2024 17:34

@DippyDuck19 I'm looking at that one too and also the Bugaboo dragonfly.
Has anyone else looked at that?
It's not all terrain like the fox 5, but is a bit lighter. I'm just so petite I'm not sure which best one to go for! Love the green colour too

@HopefulllHolly glad you're feeling movement again! I'm not sure if I felt my first little flutters on Saturday night.
How did all feel for everyone the first time? I'm hoping I feel more soon! 🤞 would be reassuring whilst I wait for the next scan

@Faith2024 congratulations and welcome! Hope your scan went well this morning?

@LouP87 glad to hear your scan went well and good luck with the test tomorrow!

@Everlore welcome and congratulations! Hopefully baby girl is playing ball tomorrow but sounds like your scan before is reassuring!

I’m looking at the dragonfly for the exact same reason! The Fox looks lovely but it is big and heavy, I’m only 5”3 so want something a little lighter. I have a golden retriever so if I’m going anywhere with rougher terrain I’ll be needing a baby carrier rather than pram so the smaller wheels on the dragonfly will do just fine for the streets/shops 😀
Let me know if you do get it! I’m waiting for a BF deal ;)

Faith2024 · 24/09/2024 07:32

Thank you everyone the scan went well and it’s a relief. Hopefully everything will go smoothly from here.

Sierra26 · 25/09/2024 06:51

Hi all… I’m now 4+6 and had watery brown spotting yesterday at 4+5 and it’s started lightly again today.

Has anyone experienced the same this early? I’ve read it can be completely normal but it looks the same as my luteal spotting always does before period starts :( so I’m incredibly worried.

Edf · 25/09/2024 06:57

Hia @Sierra26 i had something similar at 5+5-7+3. Lasted 2-3 days each time but never got any heavier and stayed brown. I was absolutely terrified and convinced I was losing baba but 7 week scan was good and no reason for bleed. My clinic wouldn’t scan any earlier as they said there would be little point (I get it but also was desperate to find out if all was ok) and said it could just be the little bean snuggling in further causing implantation bleed. Sorry you have to go through it it is very anxiety inducing!

Sierra26 · 25/09/2024 07:02

Thanks @Edf , reassuring to hear that and I’m glad everything was okay for you! I’ve considered old implantation blood but seems strange for it to take this long, as I know I implanted quite early given my 5dp BFP.

I have my ivf clinic scan booked for 8 weeks and a private for 6+6. Feels like such a long wait.

Edf · 25/09/2024 07:13

@Sierra26 yeah I thought the same when they suggested implantation to me, but they said it could be when it attaches deeper 🤷🏻‍♀️ I did try to move as little as possible from when I saw the brown to when I had the 7 week scan, and was constantly checking my pad like alll the time, I think quite a few on this thread had some spotting too which was reassuring.
are you thinking private at 6+6?

DippyDuck19 · 25/09/2024 08:43

@Sierra26 sorry you've had some spotting. I had brown spotting for 10 days from 6+6. I ended up going to the EPU as it started turning red on the first day and everything was fine. EPU said it was either implantation bleeding and is very common or cervix irritation from the progesterone pessaries (so switched to doing them rectally). I've since had more bright red bleeding at 21 weeks for 48hrs and everything ok, no obvious cause.
Fingers crossed everything is ok for you! It really does make you anxious.

Sierra26 · 25/09/2024 09:56

@Edf that does make some sense about burrowing deeper! Telling myself it’s that. Yes I’ve booked privately for the earliest I could.

@DippyDuck19 glad to hear everything has been okay for you. Ive been using back door for pessaries so cant be that, but we did DTD two days ago so im also wondering if that irritated things. I’ll be telling DH to stay away from me for next few weeks 😂

I’m away on holiday until Friday evening but if it continues I might contact my local EPU to see if they’d see me on Saturday or Monday. I know I wouldn’t see anything of the baby at this point (would be 5+2 or 4) but having lining scan and bloods done would be good. My IVF clinic won’t do any of that :(

AnnieStar12 · 25/09/2024 10:23

@Sierra26 oh I'm sorry to hear that, it is stressful seeing spotting in those early days. I remember having very light brown watery discharge on two separate days around the 4/5 week mark. I managed to convince my clinic to bring my scan forward to 6+0 as I couldn't take the stress of the wait. I was actually able to see a heartbeat and a little jelly bean at the scan. So if you can wait to 6 weeks I think you might find more comfort than going a few days earlier as there may be nothing to see.

Sierra26 · 25/09/2024 10:39

Thanks for sharing @AnnieStar12 , it’s honestly so reassuring to hear this happens to so many others! My friend has also just told me she had it through several successful pregnancies. Must have been so wonderful at your 6 week scan! Can’t believe in just a week from now it could be bean shaped 😭

RunningOnHope · 25/09/2024 22:20

So sorry I've been quiet for a long time on the thread - just jumping back on to say we've had our 20 week scan and all fine, except baby was in such an awkward position to at the sonographer couldnt check one of the arteries on the heart, she said nothing at all to worry about but we do have to go back to try again. So we went to the ultrasound reception to rebook before 23 weeks as instructed and they just didn't have any appointments?! So said to go away and they'd call us. No call yet and the 23 week deadline is 14th October, so I think I'll need chase. It's a right pain!

Baby is a little boy 💙

DippyDuck19 · 26/09/2024 10:58

@RunningOnHope glad your 20 week scan went well and all looking ok. Another scan means another opportunity to see baby! You're right to keep chasing though!

Congratulations on a baby boy too!! 🩵🩵🩵 another boy in the group!

Fluffyted · 26/09/2024 12:04

Thank you everyone for reassuring me that I'm not going mad with pregnancy hormones & it's not normal. I've got a day off tomorrow so I'm taking everything MIL bought back to the shops 😬. My partner has spoke to her but it seemed to go over her head as she keeps texting him things she wants to buy, not checking what we would like.
However I'm super grateful that she wants to be involved, especially as not everyone has their parents or in-laws around or involved.

@DippyDuck19 how exciting you bought your pram!! I love that shade of green too 😍 I bet you be can't wait to set it up!! Though we have a while until we can use them, but it's such a lovely feeling seeing all the baby bits coming together.

@HopefulllHolly has your little one been moving a bit more now? It's so scary when they have a day off from moving around.
I think I'm gonna be that annoying mummy to be who's always reporting no movements 🙈 if I haven't felt my little one move for half a day I'm already writing it down & getting ready to ring the midwife, although mine has no real pattern yet!!
The anxiety literally NEVER leaves this pregnancy!!! 😅

@summerchild92 good luck for your scan today!!! ❤️ hopefully your little one co-operates for you!! 🤞🏼

@Sierra26 awww try not to worry too much!! I know that's easier said than done!! It can be the hardest part at the beginning because it's so nerve-wracking and with spotting too it can really send your anxiety through the roof. Plenty of ladies on here had spotting & can be a good sign that baby is nestling in nicely! I hope you're doing ok!!
So hard as you are on holiday too.

@LouP87 that's fab news!! I'm so happy for you that your placenta has moved. I have my scan booked in for 36 weeks to see if mine has moved or not.
Awww a beautiful big & strong baby!!

Hi @Everlore & @Faith2024 .. congratulations to you both!! Such an exciting time for us all.

@AnnieStar12 we've got some decorating to do too! I keep putting it off but I need to start 🤣
Especially as I realised it's the end of September now and only 2 months before we decorate for Christmas & start getting festive (sorry for dropping that C bomb everyone!!). Then only a few weeks till all of our bundles of joy's will start arriving 😍🥰

I also wasn't given percentiles or even told how big or small my little one is 🤣 just that's she's doing ok.
I'm in the badger notes app but absolutely NOTHING is updated on there!! In the scan section it says "no scans recorded" 😑 but I guess not knowing can also be a blessing in disguise, though I hate no knowing anything!

@RunningOnHope awww congratulations on your scan & a baby boy 🩵 so exciting!! How are you feeling?
Oh that's a pain about booking the second scan before 23 weeks with no availability!! Hopefully it will get sorted for you before then 🙈 not the stress you need though!

HopefulllHolly · 26/09/2024 13:08

@RunningOnHope Nice to hear from you! Glad to hear baby boy 🩵 is doing well! Annoying about the scan but like DippyD says it’s another chance to see him in action! Hope you can get it booked soon.

@Fluffyted Glad your OH has taken the reins and tried to deal with his mum. Sounds like she thinks it’s her baby! That would have proper stressed me out and then I’d feel like I was being unreasonable even though I’d know I definitely wasn’t! At least you will have lots of exchanges to make and it saves you money 😂
Yeah baby is moving all the time now - I think it’s probably a combination of the placenta moving but also she’s bigger and stronger so it feels like she’s raving in there constantly. She seems to be busy at 7am, 10am, 12pm then I don’t notice much until 6pm when I normally have a quick lie down after work, and then again at 9pm when I’m in bed. And she goes crazy at 2/3am when I have insomnia, she’s soooo active then. Annoyingly my partner has still only felt her once as everytime she’s kicking and I tell him and he rushes to put his hand on my tummy she stops. Already a little monkey! 🐵 I also had really weird movement today (I think!) I just had some Greek yoghurt and honey with berries and it felt like crazy bubbles - not sure if it was her or my stomach but it was really intense like constant bubbles and stuff inside. Not had that before! @Fluffyted Im actually mega excited about Christmas. I love it anyway and love being cosy and watching films with candles on and the tree up. It’s going to be even better this year as I’ll be finishing work and not going back for over a year! So as far as I’m concerned Christmas can come as quickly as it wants so we can all meet our little miracles! ❤️❤️☺️

23 weeks today so just one more week until I’m viable which I always said would be my last anxiety milestone. 😂

I also pulled a proper crazy pregnant woman move yesterday - thankfully the girl who helped me was an angel and so kind. Basically been trying to see the colour of the cot I want in person but NOWHERE has it in real life near me. So I tried ordering a shelf in the same colour but the supplier was out of stock but every stockist (I tried 5 including boots) would say they had it in stock and take my money then I’d get an email 2 weeks later saying order cancelled. Eventually I worked out why. So anyway I phoned the supplier 😂😂 and some poor girl has sent me a piece of wood with the paint colour on. Thankfully she understood the seriousness of me wanting to sort the colours in the nursery so didn’t find me too crazy but I genuinely felt like I was being insane by being so worked up about it, but I couldn’t control it. 😂😂 Anyway, hopefully it’ll mean I’ll have colours for the walls picked this weekend and then we can paint it next weekend after the coving goes up which would be so exciting! (Or I’ll throw a hissy fit because I don’t like the cot colour). So that’s my ramble about my total unreasonableness in pregnancy. Oh and we’ve just bought a new car which is exciting!
