Hi 👋

A thread for anyone who wants to discuss their Create Fertility experiences.

I'm 38, have had 3 egg collections with Create (2x natural modified and 1 x mild) and am about to go through my first FET following embryo banking and after having a Hysteroscopy and discovering I have thyroid antibodies...joys of fertility challenges.

Tagging as follows from previous chat, please tag any others I may have forgot.

@Sunflower360 thank you x

HopefulElle · 15/09/2024 10:59

Hi ladies, how are you all getting on?

I had a call from Create’s finance team a couple of weeks ago, saying I needed to settle my outstanding balance. It’s been six months since I finished treatment and this is the first I’m hearing of any outstanding balance, I’ve no idea what it relates to. I asked for an itemised bill to include dates costs were incurred, via email. All they have sent me is 2x invoices labelled “goods/services”. I’ve emailed twice for clarification and no response. So infuriating how awful their admin is compared to their medical care!

Sunflower360 · 15/09/2024 11:44

@HopefulElle I'm good thanks 21 weeks now. That is really odd ref invoice...is there any detail on there at all? I haven't received anything, but just got told I would expect a storage invoice in the winter for the remaining embryos which is around £395. I've kept all the receipts in any case, from the bank transactions should they query anything, I know we don't owe anything as treatment only went ahead once payment was made.

@HopefulElle also 'goods/services ' is not sufficient breakdown, they need to itemise it so you're well within your right to ignore it

Congratulations @Sunflower360 - such an incredible relief after the 20 week scan isn’t it?
Time has gone much more quickly for me since (I’m 28 weeks tomorrow).

No detail whatsoever. There’s no chance I’m paying it without a breakdown that I agree with - and I honestly cannot think what it could be for! It’s just over £400 though so I wish they’d be quicker with their responses, I need to know if I legitimately owe it or if it’s (another) error on their side. The communication is absolutely terrible. Just bizarre and frustrating 6 months on 🤷🏼‍♀️

Squashh · 18/09/2024 15:15

Poor

Sunflower360 · 18/09/2024 17:34

@HopefulElle yes quite a relief, we're looking to have a 4D scan at 28 weeks. Hope you hear back from Create soon regarding the invoice

@Sunflower360 oh exciting! Did you find out gender? Haven’t heard back from them yet but not wasting energy chasing again!

Sunflower360 · 18/09/2024 22:18

@HopefulElle no, have you found out? Yeah probably good idea to leave them to it, they've probably realised the error perhaps!

@BrightStar2021 @JenRi @Maddie23 @JunieS how are you all getting on?

OP posts:
HopefulElle · 19/09/2024 07:26

@Sunflower360 no we haven’t either, and unlike everyone else who seems to have a theory or a feeling either way, I’ve absolutely no idea ☺️

JenRi · 19/09/2024 08:15

Thanks @Sunflower360 for taking the time to ask after me 😘

Unfortunately our first cycle didn't work, I do think now getting the migraine was the first sign of this. It would have been wonderful if it had worked but wasn't to be this time. Our consultant basically said everything that happened before EC was sub-optimal (only 2 eggs collected) but everything after that went much better than he was expecting i.e. both fertilised and we had what we have been told was an 'average' quality embryo to transfer. I'm hoping this means my egg quality is okay although he did say there is some sort of egg issue as they were really hard to wash out apparently!

I think we will go again but will have to pay this time so just working out the best way to do this 😬.

Hope everyone else is okay!

Hey @Sunflower360
Not great news from me.

Unfortunately since my last message we had another massive bleed. Got a scan in for the same day and saw the heartbeat. Dr wanted to wait another week before discharging us.

As the bleed was so heavy, I was advised bed rest. Went for the scan a week later and we no longer had the heartbeat. Embryo was measuring a week behind too. Been back and forth with EPAU and had a confirmed missed miscarriage last week. Its been a week since I've been off all the meds but still not passed the pregnancy yet. Thinking of looking into the D&C but not sure what the best call would be.

I've come to terms with it now but it was a shock especially after we saw the heartbeat. Just taking each day as it comes.

Sunflower360 · 19/09/2024 12:39

@HopefulElle yes, I'm not sold on the various theories either, will wait and see!

@JenRi sorry to hear the first cycle didn't work but getting 2 eggs and both fertilising is still a good result. Hopefully 2nd cycle goes ok for you, Create offer an 12 month interest free loan option so that could be worth exploring perhaps

@Maddie23 so sorry to hear about that. Can only imagine how that must have felt to have heard the heartbeat then for things to change the way they did. Hope you get to move forward soon and can get some closure

@Maddie23 I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Thinking of you

HopefulElle · 20/09/2024 07:10

I’m so sorry for your loss @Maddie23.

@JenRi sorry your first cycle didn’t work, positive that they’ve learned more about you though and hopefully that helps if you go ahead with a second. X

BrightStar2021 · 20/09/2024 22:16

@Sunflower360 We had a 4D scan and it was amazing to see our little one moving around and to see his facial features.
So, I have started taking my estrogen tablets and had a scan yesterday to check my uterus lining, which is 5.2mm. They have told me to increase dose by 1 tablet and return for another scan on Tuesday. If all is well I should be given a date for transfer fairly soon, maybe around 1st October x

HopefulElle · 30/09/2024 13:03

Hi everyone, hope you’re all doing well.
Followed up with Create again today as 4 weeks (!!) later, I still hadn’t had a response or an explanation as to why I was receiving £400 of invoices 6 months after treatment.

They finally responded with attached. I don’t recall a scan that I didn’t pay for in January either honestly, but they’re “waiving” that anyhow, and also cancelling an invoice for meds that I did not have. Just wanted to share as a warning to you all, make sure to check and double check your invoices!!

So disappointed in the standard of their finance/admin process and teams as opposed to their medical ones; at what is an already stressful and costly time, they just make things so much worse.

Sunflower360 · 30/09/2024 18:00

@HopefulElle the admin call center unfortunately does not work. It let's the overall experience down for a lot of people and can cause a lot of frustration when clinical care is good. I've noticed its a common complaint for Create. I'm over the top with admin naturally so was challenging as I went along! Glad you managed to get some closure on it

Hi everyone. It's been a long tine since I was on here. I'd done 2 cycles of embryo banking that had failed spectacularly. So we took time out. I started antidepressants and stopped focusing on ivf and ttc. We decided to go back to do the final round purely because we had the day 3 frostie, if we hadn't, I'm not sure we would to be honest.

So, I changed meds to menopur, still did estrogen priming and we've had our best ever results to date 🤯 I got 7 egg, 6 fertilised and we had 5 at grade 2 on Wednesday, all 7 cell+. We also had a 7cell grade 3.
I had already decided to put 2 back on day 3 be cause I couldn't cope with not making it to transfer at all. Plus my lining was 9.1mm which is unheard of for me. They put in a 9cell and a 10cell (they'd grown from 8 and 9 earlier in the morning). We also thawed my day 3.

So today is day 5 and I'm in shock. I have good news. We have 2x 5BB blasts frozen (one was the day 3 frostie! 🤯). There's a 2BB, an early blast still growing that they're watching to tomorrow. There was also a 3DD which they're discarding.
I'm completely in shock. The embryologist said he was hopeful that the 2 we have on board are making blastocyst today 🙏 I really hope so.

I hope everyone is doing well xx

HopefulElle · 01/11/2024 16:11

Wow that’s incredible @VenusStarr!! So pleased for you & wishing you all of the luck for this transfer xx

Sunflower360 · 01/11/2024 18:05
