Thank you @Janefx40 @Gardenlady543 @2021ivfagain

Sorry I meant 9dpo no dpt, silly me. this was timed intercourse rather than embryo transfer.

I think you’re right @Gardenlady543, I’m gonna try to hold my nerve and not test till Thursday. If I test tomorrow and it’s negative I’ll still spend the day hanging on hope that it might have just been too early, I just wish I didn’t have to travel 2 hours into Central London Thursday morning for work, I may test in the evening when I get back instead.
If my BBR and RRH don’t drop further tomorrow morning that’ll chill me out a bit 😅

Spin101 · 25/07/2023 21:36

Thank you for the reassurance ladies. My temperature is slightly raised, body aching,
sinuses acting up so wondering if it’s ok to take paracetamol at 4 weeks. Have any of you done this? x

KLM25 · 25/07/2023 22:15

@Spin101 I definitely took paracetamol, I can’t remember exactly when it was but it was early in the first trimester. I hope you feel better soon x

clhiu · 25/07/2023 22:45

@Spin101 I took it for my tooth ache a few days ago as my fertility clinic assured me it’s safe and si did my previous one to manage headaches just after my FET. Both times it’s been in the TWW so very early on! Whenever I got far enough to get a midwife, they also said paracetamol is ok. I hope this helps x

2021ivfagain · 26/07/2023 07:45

@Gardenlady543 I get the results today.

@Janefx40 Thank you for your advice.

@Sar1010 I used paracetamol in my last pregnancy for my son. My clinic told me it was safe. I had really bad migraines.

For those in the 2ww, symptom spotting and second guessing about various things, I just watched this and found rather helpful https://www.instagram.com/tv/Ct_qyV3MiOF/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== x

@Gardenlady543 I was so anxious today but my tsh was 1.71, hcg 1184 and progesterone has gone down to 158. I was a bit concerned about the slight drop, but they said it’s normal.

I have a scan in 2 weeks.

Also, I feel canesbalance is helping. I am worried about stopping it as I’m feeling better using it and it’s safe in pregnancy. Should I get another swab done in 2 weeks.

@CailinInUK How is it going? I always did better when I stimmed for shorter time in that egg quality was better. When I had to stim
longer, egg quality was affected.

@clhiu Good luck with your test. I know symptoms vary pregnancy to pregnancy as I’m finding out. I used to like raspberries but now they taste a bit like vinegar!

2021ivfagain · 26/07/2023 11:54

@Gardenlady543 They don’t want me to increase my medication and they said I don’t need more blood tests as they are happy with levels.

@Janefx40 Did you get extra blood tests done?

Spin101 · 26/07/2023 13:19

Hi ladies, sorry I will reply properly to messages when I’m feeling a bit better.

I did a covid test yesterday and it looked inconclusive. I just did another and it’s positive. I’ve never had covid before. The timing is just so crazy.

Anyone have any advice on what to do? So worried this is going to impact the pregnancy :(

Gardenlady543 · 26/07/2023 13:41

Oh no @Spin101 I'm sorry :( I got really worried when I got ill recently but the thing is there is nothing you can do. I went for strepsils for the sore throat, if you're congested I bought: Sterimar Breathe Easy Daily Nasal Spray, 100ml amzn.eu/d/dd3pYkW it's just sea water, I also used this to smell Tisserand Aromatherapy, Eucalyptus Organic Essential Oil, 100 Percent Pure Essential Oil, 9 ml amzn.eu/d/bXulzvI

Nobody wants to say anything is 100% pregnancy safe but it seems most people say these things are ok.

clhiu · 26/07/2023 14:06

Oh no @Spin101 what the heck!! I’m sorry about the uncertainty and stress this must bring, but I do agree you’re almost certainly going to be fine. I know a couple people who had covid during pregnancy (including one who didn’t get vaccinated) and were completely fine.

I swear it is some king of course with people like us who either can’t get pregnant or stay pregnant, even when we do, there is stuff like this happening to leave us stressing till the bitter end. So tiring!!!

Janefx40 · 26/07/2023 20:11

@Spin101 ahhh I'm so sorry. I currently have Covid too! It's everywhere at the mo. It won't affect the pregnancy. It's only a possible issue in late pregnancy. But it's horrid anyway.

@2021ivfagain I totally by passed CRGH after my positive test. Not sure I even did an hcg test there. Medichecks were cheaper and you can get your blood drawn at TDL directly which is just down the road from CRGH and is the same lab they use anyway. I tested every 2-4 darts but slightly regretted it as it made me anxious. But I think I had to know or would have gone even more crazy!

kerrym87 · 26/07/2023 21:58

Cautious congrats to those who have positives (not been on much as been away and trying to think less about infertility). Just had ema/Alice today and been given 10 days of doxycycline (100mg bd). So when I've had it previously with ivf the digestive side effects were horrible with just one tablet a day. I have acid reflux and ibs and despite max dose buscopan, omeprazole twice a day and taking it with a meal the pain was awful. Dr suggested having milk of magnesia in between, taking it with meals and glass of milk but essentially to suck it up. Anyone got any great hints and tips and I have to take 10 days and previously could barely function and stand up straight after 3 days worth. Thanks !
@Spin101 i caught it during my ivf cycle last june, its alwaya the worst timing for us lot. Covid is alot less virulent than it used to be and with vaccinations too should be milder- I think at the height it affected pregnant ladies in last trimester and unvaccinated much more but was still rare. Rest, fluids, paracetamol and like @Gardenlady543 suggested for congestion. If you are ever concerned about symptoms you can ring 111/ gp and/or clinic for advice feel better soon!

clhiu · 27/07/2023 06:20

Good morning. I just tested now and it’s a definite BFN for me. I feel fine about it though, plenty of signs it was going to go this way with the dental abscess, antibiotics, both DP and I having covid less than 2 months before OD knowing how negatively that impacts both eggs and sperm quality and not being able to take the Pred I was prescribed. All the signs so expected it, I’m just ready to go again straight away. Will call the clinic today to order more Letrozole.

How’s everyone else doing today?x

Gardenlady543 · 27/07/2023 06:27

I'm sorry @clhiu that sucks, how is the tooth abscess doing?

@kerrym87 yeah doxy can do this. I guess just take probiotics and try and get a good diet into you, if you have a lot of loose stools you could take dioralyte to make sure you're getting electrolytes in.

clhiu · 27/07/2023 06:32

Forgot to say to add a smidge of positivity that my dental abscess has fully cleared now and the dentist was able to refill the tooth so hopefully I can put that behind me now

clhiu · 27/07/2023 06:47

Thank you @Gardenlady543, sorry I cross-posted. But yep at least my tooth appears fine now so I’m taking that small victory, woop!
I honestly feel much better than I thought about it, probably because I know there were a lot of very specific factors this time and also because we can just go again straight away.
Ask me again after another 2 failed superovulation cycles and I may give you a very different answer 😅

kerrym87 · 27/07/2023 10:25

@clhiu glad your tooth is better, I had impacted wisdom teeth with an infection before they were removed, its awful!

Gardenlady543 · 27/07/2023 11:35

@clhiu I mean this is definitely good news as that needed to be brought under control, I think it's just been all round bad timing with this happening :( I'm hoping the next cycle is a lot more straight forward for you. I felt better in cycles where there was no blips, in my chemical I had almost had the cycle cancelled as my lining stopped growing and was only saved my injecting stims, but I did worry about the impact of those blips. Then I had the next cycle cancelled as and the follicles disappeared and my lining was 3mm and then I had the next cycle cancelled because I had a cyst at baseline. When I was finally able to do this cycle things just went smoothly.

That’s a very good point @Gardenlady543, thank you.

Thank you @kerrym87

I’m after advice and opinions on HYFOSY please. For context, my consultant at CRP recommended it for my next cycle, but I can’t decide whether it’s just a money spinning exercise or whether it could genuinely help in my case. It can be done at the same time as the next superovulation cycle and however minimally invasive, it carries a very small risk of damage, plus costs around £500.
My first concern with it is that I have been able to conceive naturally 4 times before, so why would my tubes be blocked? She said that being able to conceive implies at least one tube is free, but doesn’t rule out a blockage in the other one. Also I guess since it’s been a year from my last natural pregnancy it’s possible a blockage might have formed since? Have to be honest, I know nothing about tubes!
My second issue with it is that I the hysteroscopy I had in March also checked the ‘entrance’ of my fallopian tubes and found that clear, is there a genuine difference in what the hyfosy would be able to see from that?
I don’t know, but every time a clinic mentions yet another costly add-on I find myself in a position of not being able to say no, because of the ‘what if’ hanging over my head.
If anybody has any feeling or experiences about this, I’d love to hear them. I’ve read on other threads that it worked miracles for some people, but I’m skeptical because so far conceiving hasn’t been my main issue.

VenusStarr · 27/07/2023 18:38

@clhiu I'm sorry about your test day but good to hear your tooth issues are better.

I didn't realise you were at crp as well. I chose to have the hyfosy back in April or May, can't remember (I asked rather than they recommended). I had an hsg previously and got pregnant the next cycle, but this time dh's operations fell just after so we couldn't try. Sod's law.

But it found it reassuring that everything was OK, particularly as I've had a couple of chemical pregnancies since my original hsg and I have wondered if they were in the right place (didn't reach a scan in either). Anyway, it is a lot of money but it was good to check. In fact everything looked textbook, which is now annoying because there's nothing to treat.

I've tested the trigger out and it's definitely gone, which is strange as last superovulation cycle I had a v faint line on test day... but I don't think it's going to change before Saturday. So will just do it all again next month.

Gardenlady543 · 27/07/2023 18:51

@clhiu I've had 2 x hsg and 1 x saline scan, I do think they're a good idea, and they do seem to flush the tubes with lots of examples of people saying they then conceived right after. So I'd probably give it a go. Surgeons have told me they really can't see much in a hysteroscopy when it comes to the tubes.

Sar1010 · 27/07/2023 19:56

@clhiu i could’ve almost written the same message !!

I’ve just come out of my 3rd appt with Bill Smiths at CDS ultrasound and he has recommended a saline scan and HSG too!

I’ve actually always wanted to get one done but I felt a little upset after this appt mainly because I was expecting him to offer a laparoscopy for the endo that he has come across.
sometimes it just feels like a never-ending expensive merry go around or house of mirrors ! Both me and OH have been sat in the car feeling really frustrated and confused …
our clinic the evewell want us to do an egg collection in September and haven’t really given any attention to the endo. Which is why I looked else where with bill smiths.

do I go ahead with hsg and saline, then a laparoscopy AND then an egg collection… is that the right order? Oh it’s all quite overwhelming and I totally totally empathise with you right now.

xo

Spin101 · 27/07/2023 20:15

@Gardenlady543 thank you so much for sending me those links. I ordered them and they’ve just arrived. I’ve used sterimar for a few years but always felt I was using it incorrectly. Will try again soon.

@clhiu my thoughts exactly. What are the chances of a first ever positive pregnancy test and covid test coming together?!
I’m so sorry about your BFN :(
Is a Hyfosy similar to a HyCoSy at all? I’ve had the latter before

Spin101 · 27/07/2023 20:20

@Janefx40 I hope you make a speedy recovery! I joined the thread late, so don’t know where you are in your journey. How are are you getting on?

@kerrym87 thank you and you’re right. I felt horrendous on Tuesday and Wednesday but am feeling much better today so hoping in a day or two I’ll be back to normal!
