@Tinkerbell098 awww thanks.

It's so hard to think ahead like that isn't it. When we first started trying 6 years ago we got so caught up in names, boys and girls, we had a nickname and said "when x arrives" etc and it kind of broke us a bit every month when nothing happened.

Then once you start having tests and appointments and tracking every symptom and testing every month before AF it just completely takes the magic away.

I think we're so guarded now just to protect our hearts and we live in a way where we're happy with or without kids but when we do have little bits of hope like that it gives me butterflies so shows how much we want it.

seekingbabyk · 28/11/2022 09:58

Sorry I hit post without finishing!

But one of each - that's an absolute dream come true to be honest. Just keeping everything crossed it's plain sailing from here and it all works out for us x

Tinkerbell098 · 28/11/2022 10:14

@seekingbabyk I know exactly what you mean. Even after we got our BFP last month, I didn't even want to check potential due dates or let myself dream even a little bit as I wanted to guard myself. But the pain was still too much, nonetheless. So I've told my OH, if we are blessed with another BFP we should at least do something nice to celebrate and not live in anxiety. Our time will come, I'm sure of it.

That’s excellent news @seekingbabyk, congratulations! Did you say you were going to go for another round of banking next time?

Blood test all done and I should be getting the results back this afternoon.

I completely agree on the being guarded thing. It’s almost become really awkward for us to talk about, because neither of us can really see it happening for us. We used to talk about names etc but really we just skirt around the whole topic of children entirely these days. It feels awful having to disappoint DH every month.

Anyway, I’ve decided I’m off to treat myself to some fancy expensive snacks from Waitrose! Yes I do have a couple of days off from work so intend to make the most of them 😁

seekingbabyk · 28/11/2022 10:47

@Decaffe yes definitely treat yourself!! Let us know what your results are! So we have one round left on our multi cycle which we will do early next year (jan/feb/March). After how I felt after the EC this time I am leaning towards freezing any blasts we get and then doing a FET the following month. Time to chill right now though - feeling like I need some time off atm!

@Tinkerbell098 your time will come for sure. Because we don't do genetic testing here there are so many reasons it may not have worked last time but you will get there and yes definitely reasons to celebrate the small victories!

Tinkerbell098 · 28/11/2022 10:52

@Decaffe aww amazing! Enjoy the free day and the posh snacks! Let us know how your bloods go.

@seekingbabyk I think once you bank a few blasts, you can relax as you know the next steps are not as hard on the body. See how you get on in the next round, you may find it easier even. Are you fully back to normal now? Did you manage to get your Christmas tree done yesterday?

OP posts:
seekingbabyk · 28/11/2022 11:02

@Tinkerbell098 yes the tree is up 🎄Feeling 99% back to normal. Still constipated and still a tad tender if I push my belly but feeling fine in myself now. I haven't been sleeping great with worrying about the embryos and general life stress but I think tonight I'll finally manage a good nights sleep too which always helps!

So for you now we're just counting down to January to do a cycle - is that right? Do you have a predicted date?

seekingbabyk · 28/11/2022 11:06

Sorry @Tinkerbell098 I got that completely wrong we are waiting for AF so you can do your FET. How you feeling about that? Do you have a date you think it'll all start?x

Tinkerbell098 · 28/11/2022 11:36

@seekingbabyk yey for tree being up! We are getting everything down from the loft hopefully some time this week and do the tree on Friday evening.
So the plan is, if I get AF this week, I can go ahead with the cycle. Judging by the peak I got from the LH sticks and BBT, I may get AF on Saturday/Sunday (cycle was very delayed after the MC). I think the clinic said their cut off to get AF to do a round pre Christmas shut down would be this weekend. But I need to ring them again to confirm as my first injection would be on day 1. I don't want to take the injections over the weekend and for them to then say they can't fit me in on Monday/Tuesday for a scan (I remember from my summer cycle how stressful it was). The only reason I would like to get one done in December would be because me and OH would be off for about 10 days and it would be so nice to be in TWW stress free and with him. But, if it doesn't work out, that's fine too. Just hope I won't miss the next cycle because of the new year bank holiday (coz my next AF would be on the 1st)!

@Tinkerbell098 keeping everything crossed for you that you get it this week. That would be lovely to have that time together to chill and take your mind off of the waiting. So your transfer would be mid December then is that right?

Tinkerbell098 · 28/11/2022 11:56

@seekingbabyk the clinic protocol is to transfer around day 19 of the cycle. So it’ll be around 22nd/23rd. I think that’s why they have that cut-off so the last transfer would be just before Christmas.

OP posts:
seekingbabyk · 28/11/2022 12:07

@Tinkerbell098 lovely just before Christmas although it would be hard for me to explain no drinking with family as none of them know but might be different for you. So your OTD would be 2nd January - how nice would it be going into a new year knowing you're pregnant ❤️

Tinkerbell098 · 28/11/2022 12:24

@seekingbabyk it would be hard for me too to explain, but I was thinking I would come up with something if I have to (on medication/ not well/ something like that). Yes, if things work out, it would lovely to put all the misery behind in 2022 and have a happy 2023.

OP posts:
seekingbabyk · 28/11/2022 12:35

@Tinkerbell098 I would maybe use the too much drinking lately at Christmas parties, winter wonderland, etc so volunteered to drive and not even having one as lots of police around this time of year. I usually drink vodka so also thought I could empty a small bottle and fill with water. You'll get through it and it'll be worth it x

Tinkerbell098 · 28/11/2022 14:12

@seekingbabyk yes I usually drink gin, so easy enough to disguise with water too. I was also thinking the "having to drive back" excuse, so should work well. Fingers crossed I can get a cycle in next month. Just realised, if that's the case, I'll be starting next week! Eek!

OP posts:
seekingbabyk · 28/11/2022 14:25

Yay that's exciting @Tinkerbell098
I'm thinking if we do a round in January I can use dry jan as an excuse! Keeping everything crossed it all comes together for you x

Decaffe · 28/11/2022 14:41

Filling a spirits bottle with water is an excellent idea, I might have to do that this week when I go out with family!

Gosh I feel so rotten today. Headache still isn’t clearing, tender boobs and bruised tum from the injections, constantly gurgling belly from the pessaries. Constantly needing the loo due to the meds. None of this is fun, is it? 😔

seekingbabyk · 28/11/2022 14:42

Oh no I really feel for you @Decaffe - if it sticks though it'll all be worth it! Any idea when you'll get your test results?

Decaffe · 28/11/2022 14:55

I’m expecting them to ring in the next hour or so but I’ll drop them an email if not. I feel sick-y and rubbish so I am predicting the levels are probably higher than they are even in a non-IVF cycle 😁

Tinkerbell098 · 28/11/2022 15:09

@seekingbabyk dry January is a perfect excuse!

@Decaffe aww sorry you're feeling rubbish, but it will all be worth it if it implants. Hope the waitrose snacks helped a bit. Hope you can get some rest and enjoy being PUPO X

Decaffe · 28/11/2022 17:11

Oh my life no wonder I feel so rough! Progesterone is now 92! 😳😆 Well that explains a lot.

When I had my NHS day 21 test (7dpo) it was 38. So I think 92 at 9dpo is quite a lot for my body!

I’ve just thought of another excuse you could use if you think ‘antibiotics’ wouldn’t work. Could you say that you are preparing for an upcoming IVF cycle so you want to eat/drink a bit more healthily?

Decaffe · 28/11/2022 17:34

I will be very, very interested indeed to see if I spot on this cycle before my period (if it is a BFN round that is). I have had spotting for years, sometimes for seven days before my period starting. I have had brown spotting every day so far since transfer, I’m presuming that will stop soon. So it’ll be very interesting to see what happens on the spotting front with levels as high as this.

seekingbabyk · 28/11/2022 17:48

That's amazing @Decaffe well done! Will they reduce it for you now? Let's hope it sticks now! Fingers crossed for a line again tomorrow x

Imisscoffee2021 · 28/11/2022 18:21

Wow @Decaffe that's an amazing rise! Are you feeling relieved? Xx

Tinkerbell098 · 28/11/2022 18:39

@Decaffe woah! 92?? What an increase! You must be relieved! Would they change the dose now or keep it? Are they doing another test in a few days?
